  1. Was at Funfields yesterday day they had a drop n twist there as well. I rode it as when I was standing outside the ride they asked for a single rider so I hopped on straight and it was pretty fun! It was quite small tho I’m guessing the one at MW will be bigger?
  2. Yeah serpent slayer gives me 2000s video game vibes. IMHO a cool idea for the pandemonium re-theme would be to give it a stingray theme, like I think that would suit the vehicles and could look similar to Manta at SW Orlando but not a coaster train ofc. But looks like we’ll be getting “serpent slayer” & who bets they keep the dragon statue on top but just give it a re-paint
  3. IMO Surfrider will almost certainly not be going to MW, and apart from the fact that it wouldn’t make sense in the park in terms of space, I have a valid reason. MW is getting a kid’s ride later this year, and the whole Woz section in 2024. That means that if it were to go there, it would have to open during 2025 or after, and I don’t think Village is wanting to keep it SBNO at WNW for a few more years. And MW wouldn’t be opening three additions in 2023/24 alone, our parks aren’t trying to be energylandia, which means I think SW will get to give that park some attention while MW gets new additions during the next two years.
  4. it’s not about if you can take your whole family to a park, but wether they would enjoy it. By all means you could let your 6 year old watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s if you wanted but would they rlly enjoy it? Ik when I was a little kid around ten or so years ago I hated going to MW cause there weren’t many rides catering to pre-school aged kids, but I loved SW because it wasn’t just about the big rollercoaster. Tbh though, basically all parks in Australia can be enjoyed by the whole family to some degree, and I can’t think of one specific park that could be seen as a full on thrill or family park in the country. Yeah some have more big rides like MW and some are more Family catered like Aussie world, but we don’t have anywhere that tries to generally sick to one side of the scale like Cedar Point or LegoLand abroad.
  5. Ye it probably wasn’t a great idea of mine, just a way for the park to add something “new” without it taking up space. Tbh I don’t see LPM ever getting a new coaster, at least not in the next 2 or 3 decades anyway. Literally any new addition to the park would be hard considering it’s so tight for space. I predict it won’t get any new announcements this year if not for the next few, just that it could do w something new to the lineup.
  6. Lol I was gonna start a topic about this but I didn’t know if it was relevant enough. Coaster Studios is also going to announce a tour tomorrow (I think tomorrow at least), and w the Instagram story they posted a few weeks ago asking for advice from Aussie thoosies, my bet is that Sarah and Taylor will be taking a trip down under as well! I think the opening of Leviathan and Gumbuya’s coaster makes a trip to Australia for coasters look just that bit more worth it, considering the distance from America & Europe
  7. The Ghost Train opened in 1934, meaning 2024 would be its 90th anniversary. It would be rlly cool if they could do a major refurb on it in time for that occasion, I’m talking new effects and animatronics, something new to make it more modern. It could be a good addition to the park to bring in more guest, and wouldn’t take up rlly any more room considering the building’s already there, although it might be tough to get around permits considering it was build in a time period w different safety standards. If so though they could announce the second half of 2023 for a first half of 2024 opening.
  8. I think I would build a small indoor park in Adelaide, as it has a decent population and imo the Beach House in Glenelg just isn’t enough, as I’ve been and it is basically just a glorified fun Center. The Park’s rides: - Buy SurfRider from village and have it put here - A chance rides Hyper GTX; something like Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom cause it’s cheap, accessible for whole family and got good airtime - A sally dark ride - something not too crazy yet fun like the ghost blasters rides in America - Larson Drop Tower (cause they are more thrilling and less pricey compared to S&S) - Kids area with SBF visa spinner and buy leftover rides from Dreamworld kids area re-development
  9. Does anyone know if there’s a single rider queue on either TNT or PZ?
  10. Didn’t know where to put this so started a new topic. Looks like SurfRider has been taken off the Wet n Wild website, can’t find it at all! SkyCoaster still listed as “currently closed” and FlowRider as “under maintenance” so I rlly don’t think this is an accident. Any ideas as to what could happen to SurfRider? https://wetnwild.com.au/attractions
  11. That’s because GW is a regional park, and them building those coasters shows that gumbuya management is going out of their way to deliver the best experience that they can offer, compared to the size of the park. I can’t say much about Buzzsaw, but MW buying two children’s coaster, when they already offer two in Scooby and Road runner, and then slapping on the WOZ theme that honestly imho deserves an immersive dark ride experience if they were to go with that IP, just seems a bit lazy of them. MW is supposed to be the international standard park of Australia, Gumbuya is meant to be a scaled down family park for locals, which tbh I’m perfectly fine with.
  12. I’ve been thinking about the new coaster a lot in the past day or two, and I was wondering whether there is a possibility that jungle rush could be be a Vekoma mine train model, as it would suit the theme and in a lot of the concept art, the track looks similar to vekoma’s updated mine train track. Just thought I would put that out there. Vekoma mine train track: Jungle rush track in top left corner:
  13. Is it just me, or does Jungle Rush remind anyone of dollywood's upcoming 2023 big bear mountain coaster. They both family oriented and built by vekoma overall i'm VERY impressed with the new additons, really heads the park in the right direction!
  14. I think the new kids ride will be one of those additions that MW hypes up just before school holiday period in which it debuts, sort of like special events eg. hooray for hollywood. btw I'm not saying that it will open in during a period of school holidays specifically, I just think that it's opening/hype up will be more abrupt compared to bigger additions in the past
  15. Was just searching funfield’s prices and noticed to get a day ticket along with fast pass (which get’s you a single skip the ride queue to 9 different rides) is altogether only 7 bucks more than GW’s hefty $78 dollar admission price coming in at $85. That’s actually a fairly reasonable deal if you want to go to a park during the peak summer months to ride a new ride and avoid the crazy school holidays crowds that often make these parks too hectic.
  16. Bro ok this just makes me want to go there even more! I can’t wait to see what they have planned for this new area
  17. They added 2 new kids flats, although they may of already opened at the end of last season. Out of all VIC parks, I’ve always found AP the weakest and I agree that the gap will keep on widening with the other parks bringing on new additions regularly.
  18. Yeah I'm gonna wait until Feb to take the trip over, just to let things quiet down and to make sure there's no technical stuff ups.
  19. Yeah I don't know if VR are big enough to have a soft opening. But did DC Rivals have one? Cause if it did then leviathan might but other than that i don't think it will
  20. I definitely thinks Gumbuya World will need just that one standout coaster in the next few years, a vekoma (maybe with a launch) like myself and others have suggested would work well for the park. I don’t necessarily think it should be the next investment, maybe the third next or so, but I just think a Headliner would do this park justice, cause I think TNT will be beating out PZ for that title this summer, which is ironic cause TNT is still a family coaster.
  21. I can't see any wooden coaster being built, but a spinner could possibly work
  22. $220 for 12 month access to 4 parks (SW, MW, WNW, PC) if you're a local isn't bad, although I must say for families on a budget Dreamworld might be a safer option. As someone who lives interstate though, the day tickets sure look to be getting bloody expensive.
  23. Ye I think that would be a good fit for Gumbuya, a coaster that the whole family could enjoy. I did an apline coaster when I was in Tennessee near Dollywood, and they are very smooth and fun. It would also mean the park would have a kiddie coaster in mine coaster, a family one in TNT, a thrilling coaster being PZ, and a coaster the whole family could enjoy in an alpine coaster.
  24. The new Gumbuya World additions (TNT & PZ) alone really surprised and gave me faith in the park's leadership team, and I really don't know when they'd be willing to spend that amount of cash again, although I guess we could expect a new addition by the time the commonwealth games come to Vic. Personally, I think the Oz Adventures and the kid's zone should where investment is put, just because of the fact that the other VIC parks seem to be putting money into their waterparks a lot more compared to dry rides, and that is an area where Gumbuya could shine compared to FF and AP. Personally I think the next Decade or so of investments should include: - 1 or 2 new kids rides in an Outback Explorers expansion - New adult flat maybe a Larson Drop Tower. - New slide/ slide tower - Another adult coaster to round things out. A smaller scale vekoma would work, even RMC raptor looks to be something Gumbuya would go for.
