  1. I know that, I was just thinking it could've been a lot better if it was like the Seven Dwarves Mine Train with a dark ride section. The theming is really good but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the lack of length.
  2. I would say it is that style of track with Big Bear Mountain trains. Speaking of that ride I am hoping Jungle Rush is longer that. It seems underwhelming for Disney standards, that is only 50sec including lift hill.
  3. Could it have a chance of being relocated instead of scrapped? It was added less than 2 years ago, I would like to think it is being moved to make way for something in the area.
  4. The drop area has been filled in with dirt completely (thanks to Jaggs Journeys)
  5. Looks like the Intensity/IT maze is getting repainted for DCeased, but unfortunately they are making it a white shed. Hopefully the Arkham building isn’t repainted with “Stage 10” on the side during the WoO transformation. (Thanks to TPSN)
  6. I think it is a similar version down here to Universal vs. Disney, only with Dreamworld as Universal and Village as Disney. Universal is trying to create many new rides and improve guest experience to get guests to come back. Disney however, knows no matter how long construction takes on their rides or how good or bad guest experience is, people will still come because of the number of parks and things to do, as well as Disney being more well known. This is why Village still gets more visitors than Dreamworld from my guess. In winter, if an interstate visitor buy a Dreamworld pass they only get Dreamworld and Skypoint, while if they buy a Village pass they get Movie World, Sea World, Wet n Wild and Paradise Country. People would think “Why go to Dreamworld when there is so much to do down the road?” Yes Dreamworld is introducing a Dreamland/Ocean Parade/Rivertown/Flier, but most people won’t go for a kids land/kids rides, I would expect more people to wait for Rivertown. And even then, Village is introducing WoO/Surfrider, so in this case I feel new additions wont matter if both are doing the same thing.
  7. I get why they have done this, but a big problem with the Fast Pass only option is how expensive it is compared to Dreamworld. I have done the math and to do each ride available at Dreamworld once (16) is worth around $8.12 per ride, while at Movie World fast track for seven rides will cost around $25 for each ride. Also the Five ride Ride Express pass for Dreamworld costs around $70 these holidays, while you have to pay $110 more for seven rides down the road. But as I have said, it’s most likely because the investment company wants more money, and will do anything to get an extra cent.
  8. Jaggs Journeys has done a tour of the new Ocean Parade area, includes video of the dodgems and splash pad: One of the things to notice is the Dodgems now have a water effect projection, looks great. Also includes video of the first piece of the Dreamworld Flyer being installed.
  9. Just heard about this now. Can't say I am shocked. Village most likely removed it to force people to pay for fast pass so they can get more money and blame it on "guest feedback". Just another example of how Village is slowly becoming worse and worse under the investment company, who just cares about the money.
  10. Six Flags Great America, Dorney Park and Valleyfair also do, and I would imagine many other parks would.
  11. The new vintage car trains look great, a massive step up from the current white, generic ones. The Jungle Rush entrance looks great as well, looks better than the other entrances at Dreamworld right now.
  12. The area looks very good, the only problems I have is the Chinese look remaining on Gamesite, as well as the different colour of concrete from the rest of the area.
  13. According to this article the hotel has been accepted and Village will be moving ahead in building it. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=GCWEB_MRE170_a_GGL&dest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.goldcoastbulletin.com.au%2Fproperty%2Fvillage-roadshow-hotel-green-light-for-333m-movie-world-hotel%2Fnews-story%2F90081176bce16aa34bbaf1bb5dd307c7&memtype=anonymous&mode=premium If anyone could post the article here that would be great (paywall)
  14. I am hoping it will be 2x horror and 1x DC but it will most likely be 1x horror, 1x DC and 1x non-IP. Also MW are starting to stabilise with choices, yes they are bringing Flash into the mix but Marvin was the first IP ride that wasn’t themed to DC (JDS counted as non-IP) in… 16 years! Don’t forget about WoO. I am also hoping when Doomsday is put to sleep the area is rethemed to non-DC, not sure of what IP could be used though… One of the things I hate about DC is Village use it as an excuse to put rides on plots of grass without any theming. Look at WWF, Scooby, WoO art, Road Runner, they all look very good. When you enter DC area (or rather, non-themed world) you see rides plonked down without any thought. There isn’t even any facades like Main Street, Kids WB, WWF and Supervillians.
  15. Something interesting I have noted from the announcement video of Kings Islands new family boomerang - look it seems Flying Ace Aerial Chase will be getting repainted. But look at the colours: Coincidence?
  16. I am glad to hear that Energex and council officers now supports the hotel, if it is built that means Village will have 1005 rooms across Sea World Resort and Movie World hotel, not even counting the Paradise Country hotel, which is pretty good. In comparison Shanghai Disney Resort only has 215 more rooms. I am hoping they can make a deal with WB to use their characters in the hotel, even if the hotel has the rake. For example they could theme the kids zone in the hotel to Looney Tunes, and theme some of the restaurants.
  17. Oh god, so basically it is permanent. Just put Doomsday out of its misery already and replace it,
  18. After Wizard of Oz/Flash/Scooby I can't see the next expansion at MW. It has been the main focus from 2023-2025, so my guess is the next expansion will be either at SW or WnW. Highly doubt it, as Gazza said the boats just got replaced, so it is most likely here to stay. It is still one of the most popular rides even after 25 years, no point in replacing it. I know something in the area between that and Scooby that could get replaced though.
  19. Based on the video it seems the entire WOO land will be concreted, instead of real grass. My guess is they are using fake grass as real grass can become green, which would ruin the whole area.
  20. Yes they have, although most are from Lionsgate, Sony or Miramax, not Universal or Paramount. Saw Maze (Lionsgate) Walking Dead (AMC) Evil Dead (Sony) Evil Within (Bethesda Softworks) Wolf Creek 2 (Roadshow) Friday the 13th (Paramount*) From Dusk till Dawn (Miramax) Wyrmwood (Guerilla Films) Jigsaw Maze (Lionsgate) Halloween (Miramax) Leatherface (Lionsgate) Zombieland Double Tap (Sony) *Paramount owns half the franchise, but most likely gotten from WB (WB + Paramount co-own F13)
  21. Considering it is two weeks until the maze announcements for Fright Nights (going by previous years) I thought it would be good to start up a thread. On the Mazes tab on the Fright Nights website most mazes have been removed except Death Row and Conjuring maze, which i’m guessing that they will be back for 2023 (considering they were new for last year, and mazes tend to be reused across 2 or so years) So I wonder what other mazes will come this year? I am kinda hoping for a Saw X maze to tie in with the movie (coming out Sep 21 2023) Maybe a Nun maze would be good but I’m not sure about the other one.
  22. Unfortunately it would be unlikely as the ride is 60+ years old IIRC (Dreamworld got it second hand), and most parks have a ride like that.
  23. A more closer example would be Raging Waters Sydney as well. Since opening, they have only opened one new slide. That’s it. Meanwhile Jamberoo has opened Velocity Falls as well as Perfect Storm and now this. No wonder why more people are going there instead of RWS. @Ranger could you copy the article onto here if you can? It would be greatly appreciated, I don’t have a subscription so it would be awesome if so.
  24. More work has been done (thanks to @Ogre)
  25. Concrete has been placed in the Gamesite area. Disappointing that it won’t match the rest of Ocean Parade. (thanks to @Ogre)
