How does DC Rivals compare to the worlds best truly?
Gazza replied to Coasterjoe's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah perhaps the weak point of RMCs is their restraints, they are all like that except for New Texas Giant which has Gerstlauer trains. FWIW Nagashima Spaland is a bit closer to Aus and Hakugei is better than Steve IMO. -
Chaos? I think they stopped running worldwide since they kept falling over.

What's the point of bringing up Dollywood being seasonal then? It literally has nothing to do with the rainy day policy.

^What an odd thing to say. Literally anything good from a park overseas could now be dismissed since they are largely seasonal.

I think there has to be a more compelling reason for a giant swing than an "up yours" to DW. We now have them at DW, Aussie World, Luna Park, Adventure World, a number in varying sizes on the travelling circuit plus a mini one at Funfields. I mean the bigger Intamin one (Eg Tigeren at Djurs) is better than the smaller model (Eg Goliath at AW) The motion of the Zamperla giant ones is a bit more nauseating for some reason (I've done Sven Svingarm and Scream Machine at Adlabs Imagicaa) But really? do we want MW to build this and then that's our 'new' thrill ride for 3 or 4 years?

Ooooh, I can comment on that now (Trip report probably in a week or two) It actually felt quite awkward. When you entered a turn on the ‘inside’ you’d get this feeling of braking suddenly (because physics, the car is following a shorter path than the chassis) so it didn’t really flow well as a ride. Looks interesting offride, and I gave it a good 5 or 6 laps to be sure, but it didn’t really impress overall. I think the one at Skara will be the only one ever built.

100%. Heard about it for years, it was only ever at the Sydney Show (right?) so difficult to get a chance to try it. The other day I realised I've never been on a Zipper either!

So both Chessington and Legoland Germany are getting family versions of the B&M wing coaster They already make family inverted coasters so i guess a gentle wing coaster is a natural progression. https://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/product/family-coaster Wouldn't mind seeing one of them here as a unique family ride.

I think its more if you want to see more of the shows, have time to eat, or just not physically stand in a crowded line. People may want to do rides since riding at night is a different experience. And of course attendance is not uniform, some nights will be busier.

Matterhorn reaches speeds of 140km/h? Righto.

Steel Taipan running empty (except for Tailwhip seats)
Gazza replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
IDK there might have been a breakdown on the day you visited so they had a backlog. Did you get plenty of rides prior to 5pm? -
Steel Taipan running empty (except for Tailwhip seats)
Gazza replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Because it takes longer and the staff would want to just clear the tailwhip queue and go home, not muck around dealing with a whole trains worth each time. -

I think over time if it became known you could get a quasi ERT at the end of the day there would be enough people wanting rides at 5pm you'd have to let new people on. Hence them just cycling quickly to pump them through so the staff can go home. -

I think the reason they wouldn't allow others to join would be to just speed up the throughput for those waiting for their tailwhip ride? Checking an empty train is quicker than letting people on / waiting for them to deposit loose items and sit down / waiting for them to exit. -
Jamberoo - Australia's theme park success story?
Gazza replied to Ranger's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah. I think people voting perhaps didn't realise how few "action" attractions Jamberoo has. Maybe when it had Grass Skiing, Go Karts, Wet Races it could have been, but clearly now 90% of the offering is water park attractions. I dunno why you would give Adventure World a separate category. Plenty of parks have slides and dry rides but you don't call them Action Parks. -
Jamberoo - Australia's theme park success story?
Gazza replied to Ranger's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Action park is marketing speak though. It's overwhelmingly now a water park, with a couple of toboggans. Wet n Wild is a water park despite having a skycoaster, halfpipe coaster (And even ziplines and wild buggy at one point) I'd lol if people started calling it Wet n Wild Action Park.
