They’re now painting the front of the castle. I was able to get a little glimpse inside while they were working near the entrance. I’m not sure if this is directly related to the Scooby refurb, but I noticed the speakers that were located on this lamppost (that used to play the Scooby music) have been removed. The ones on top of the castle are still there though.

Something’s definitely up with Superman, the launch cables are currently hanging down.

Road design is a factor though - SEQ has a lot of hairpin onramps that can't be taken at speed. Additionally, even with long straight onramps, the speed limit sign is at the end of it, so most drivers don't accelerate to highway speeds to merge easily, and end up either stopping at the end of the ramp, blocking the onramp flow, or merge onto the highway at 60-80, stacking up the left hand lane. That said I find a lot of drivers can't merge even when the conditions are favourable, and many people can't roundabout either. They need to teach roundabouts and zipper merging in school.

A lot of people also don't seem to be able to handle more than 2 lanes in QLD. The M1 is a great example where a huge percentage of people believe their car can only operate in the 3rd lane. Maybe a bit of driver education might help.

There is some analysis out there that traffic isn't made better by adding more lanes - the more lanes you have the more traffic you get was the outcome if I recall. Offering an alternate route is definitely a must - one thing shuts down the highway and there's very little alternative - but i'll take 4 new lanes in a connector over no new connector at all...

Yes I mentioned that earlier but the for clarification the Government cheeped out on the Coomera Connector and it will open with four lanes.

I thought C4C was just the QLD container scheme. Though funding SWF makes sense. DW would likely use DWF if they established similar, I assume.

Containers for Change; I believe they then donate a portion of the funding back to the Sea World Foundation.

The government is building the Coomera connector which is an alternative 6 lane highway route south from Coomera and will remove much of the local traffic trying to enter the M1 southbound at the roundabout - which will improve the traffic at the DW entrance.

Who does Village donate their containers to?

There already is a plan in place but no government has ever funded the build. The traffic around DW has been up the creek without a paddle for years. If you're unhappy with the exit, use the bottom exit and do a u-turn at the petrol station.

All of the VRTP parks also have them.

I wish the prices were getting cheaper lol, just not good value for money imo. Definitely not sold on coming up for it, just like last year. Glad I'm not alone in thinking DCeased was utter trash (at least from the last time I went in 2023).

West has been on and off for a while. the old boats had a risk of people exiting them and getting into the surrounding areas. they've used the west theming for premium experiences too. It's also the closest to the rear residential area and while there is a scream shield I think the noise is still an issue for them. I don't see any issues with West being offline TBH. As for WOZ, I think WB would be very protective of their IP here. While there is a great opportunity for flying monkeys or scarecrows, woodsmen and the like, I just don't think such a classic should cross over into horror genre in park - at least not yet. Though it's a shame they won't open the land for capacity reasons I suppose...

Yeah that's fair. It's clear the park is slowly modernising \ refurbishing every section of the park but it does take time... and unlike other parks nearby - I can see that they're actively working on stuff so i'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt that something that looks a bit shitty is going to be temporary, and eventually rectified.

I never said the onus was on Dreamworld to fix the problem (though their current driveway arrangements do make it worse). What I said was, I hope they're discussing with relevant authorities options to rectify it. To be honest, I think the roundabout is out-dated, and needs converting to traffic lights, with the main issue being people from the northern end (westfield) queueing across the roundabout preventing DW carpark exit.

While there are some times where SE would have to close due to FSF maintenance and vice versa, the vast majority of the time one ride is able to continue operating even if the other is down. It makes sense to close them together to do whatever work is needed though...

i may be wrong but i’m pretty sure SE closed before flash. also, maybe i just didn’t notice it but it looked like Superman’s cable for the launch wasn’t attached.

What has gone wrong with Flash... seems like they're doing another train rebuild. (photos jaggs) I wonder if this is why SE is closed...

I've only seen it in NSW, but the Aquarium have their own container thing, and Taronga being the government entity they are, have a dedicated return and earn in the eateries where the money goes straight to the park

I went on it last night. It was an awesome, nostalgic experience. She’s a little bit clunky but that’s expected for old carnival rides. I’m just grateful we still have one here in Australia. I took some videos and they let me record on the ride so I’ll post the link once I’m finished editing.
