UTT Review: Early Entry: Great as always Canapes and Meet and greet: Went for about 45 minutes until 5:30pm. Members walking around with food and cast members such as doll haus. Talk to Maze Designer: Moved into the roxy theatre. Video didn't work (think this was intentional) and some microphone issues to make it a bit more of a light hearted part of the day. Just talked about what mazes they had this year really. Buffet: Very nice, dishes such as fish, carved meats, assorted salads and desserts, chocolate fountain, fried chicken and spinach, mushroom and baby tomato pasta (loved the pasta haha) The Tour (SPOILER HEAVY AVOID UNLESS WANTED): This tour is based on a musical festival which was a bust and was on the lands of a drug cartel. You jump in a car and get taken over near the studios somewhere near topgolf?? A man kills a dude and holds his head. Tour guide runs away and the drug cartel owner yells at you to come to a shipping containers. Bunch of cocaine and you get told to run to a plane to take off to become her workers. Plane gets shot up by police and you get taken to another tour vechile. A girl in our tour was directly at the window and the tour guide popped up (she freaked out and fell over) so dont do that! You get taken back and that was the end of it. I honestly wish there was something more to this (I was thinking paradise country) to make it more interesting and longer? It was done in 10 to 15 minutes. 6.5/10 Theming was great! Fast Track: Very useful to get everything done, did the mazes 6 times and rides 4 times. Panic Rooms: We didn't attempt these as we were not interested. The souvenir is a fright nights pen in a coffin box.5 points

We got a bunch of free tickets to the show, thanks to our new connections with the publicists from the Perth Royal Show. It was close to 30 degrees, today, so it was perfect timing to try Splash Down, the show’s log flume ride. Rode my second chairlift in two days and also got to experience the new coaster. One train comfortably fit four of us. It started spinning on the second part of the lift hill. It has lots of tight turns and a head chopper element towards the end. It seems to be themed to the Avengers and was called X Coaster, although it sounds like they want to change its name to West Coaster. Still no clues as to the owner.4 points

@Tim Dasco and I paid a visit to Adventure World, today. There are no new rides. Quite a few things have had a fresh coat of paint, but lots of things haven’t. Tim was impressed with how the grass looked. There is large fencing around the haunt/maze area. Inferno is still testing. The animal part was closed, despite Aimee, the keeper, being inside and the place looking okay. Yarli’s Safaris has new paint/decals. Buccaneer Battle seems to be cracking down on any loose items(including hats and glasses). The crowds slowly built up over the day. The queue for the Grand Prix looked to be about 30 minutes.3 points

Inferno received a full ride overhaul hence why the ride is still being tested, no new attraction THIS year3 points

First Fright Nights ever - My Review! Minor Spoiler Alert Mazes: Housr of Kain: First maze I did, I encountered several actors (around 5) and it was my 3rd favourite maze. The set pieces were very good and it got a few good screams out of me. Watch out for the man with a baby 😛 . 8/10 Leatherface: 2nd maze attempted, I was very nervous about this maze. Expectations did not meet my standards however. I was the 2nd person in my line and it seemed that the scare actors were not going at the right times, therefore the back were terrified and we felt nothing. I feel like this will be rectified soon enough. We werent even jumped in the whole forest area? This maze does have a lot of potential. 4/10 Zombieland Double Tap: A few good scares, it was more unnerving. A lot of sensory scares in this maze. 6.5/10 Doll Haus: This maze was my favourite of the night and boy did it exceed expectations. The set design, the costumes, the makeup and the actors all stitched up to create a awesome maze (Dad Joke intended). Very unnerving and creepy and a great use of space. I would recommend doing this maze twice to really discover the great scenes this maze has to offer. Watch out for the corners! 9/10 IT: My 2nd favourite maze of the night, with great use of special effects and disorienting scenes to really mess you up. The end is where it is fully unleashed. I feel like some scenes could have been excuted better (the projector scene, for instance) however I feel like a large amount of money was spent on this maze and you could truly feel it. What let me down about this maze was the 2 videos really did spoil the majority of the maze. I personally feel like they should refrain from showing the mazes to avoid spoilers. 8.5/10 Precincts: Hell Born: Walked past 3 times, 2 of those times they had live peformances going. Fairly good music aswell. Loved the atmosphere it produced.7.5/10 Dead West: One of the best precincts due to the fact it had the theming of the Wild West Falls. Around 4 actors at any one time. 7.5/10 Baby Faced Killers: Around 3 at any one time, it wasn't the best they could do however they got a few screams. Where the clowns apart of this?? 6/10 Nightmares: Around 4 actors at any one time, no theming except for the actors and fog/smoke. 6/10 *I feel like it would be better if they made the whole of main street one precinct and gave it their absolute best? I would highly recommend buying the UTT or Fast track to get your value of the night. I will also be doing a UTT review later and be posting it in the UTT thread.2 points

Here's our POV of Australia's latest coaster, West Coaster (formerly X-coaster and still with that sign). https://www.facebook.com/perththemeparks/videos/404866673558033/1 point

From my experience tonight - note as this is the first night, this will change throughout the event but as it stands imo.. 1) IT - Obviously where the money went to this year and it shows.. definitely the most advanced maze they have done, Feels like you are in the films 2) Zombieland - just outbeaten by IT - I walked in with low expectations with this one but was surprised with what they had to work with but definitely the shortest maze there - had perfect runs each time in this one 3) Doll Haus - Put my expectations a little high with this one as I was impressed with Kain last year and was expecting to be just as great as HOK - It is great, but you really have no clue what’s going on in the maze as it’s all thrown in your face, the action, queue should have a backstory posted so then it could flow with everyone 4) HOK - I wish this was higher on the list as it was my favourite maze last year, lacks the charm I feel that the maze had last year. I was surprised with how much with the original maze was kept and not altered from the Show Stage to the sheds 5) Leatherface - You are not missing much if you skip this one, it’s the same concept that has been done in previous years and but adds nothing new to it1 point

My opinion after having a few years off... Mazes seemed very haphazardly strung together. In HoK we encountered one scare actor the whole time. 60 minute + wait for rides but rides were not on our to do list... at least maZes moved quickly. HC queue closed by 8.15? Saw two stages set up. One playing music briefly, the other had nothing on it the few times we wandered past. Precincts were not themed. Having a grouping of characters roaming around specific areas does not a precinct make. FN is in desperate need of a quality show to soak up the crowds. Before the fanboys scream - I repeat, just my opinion. Won't be back. For those that enjoyed it - im glad for you. But for me the price tag just didnt meet expectations.1 point

Here is the landscape plan (colour version): Grand Gorge Falls' 8-Lane Octokraken Racer: "With an overall ride length of approximately 160 metres and an elevational drop of 21.59 metres, this combination racer will be the largest of its type installed to date"(assuming that is still the case in summer 2020) "approximately five metres below the natural ground level" The general Grand Gorge Falls area is themed to gorges "such as Kings Canyon, Katherine Gorge and Finke Gorge / Palm Valley". Grand Gorge Falls' SkyBox Multi-Bump Speed Slides: "only one and three metres above natural ground level" Koala Kove: "This waterplay zone provides a wet deck approximately 25 metres long and 15 metres wide" It is anticipated, according to the DA, that Jamberoo Action Park "...will experience a slight increase in numbers in the short term, but in the medium to long term the owners aim to achieve sustained visitor numbers in line with current attendance rates" Some other interesting quotes from the DA: The DA mentions these new replacements as part of "Master Plan 2016". This very likely refers to Jamberoo Action Park's hints to a newly proposed $6.5 million large major custom-designed hybrid world-first ride back in 2017. Clearly, Jamberoo Action Park defines 'hybrid' differently. So what does everything think?1 point

More conveyor belts for the rafts/inflatables, so that guests don't have to painfully lug them up stairs and ramps. That's one of the major advantages I think that WhiteWater World has over Wet N Wild, despite it being the smaller park. It's a lot more convenient.1 point

@Jamberoo Action Park has revealed it's 1st teaser of the new high thrill water raft ride which mainly gives clues to the theming: If the gif is not visible, it says 'COMING SOON...THE PERFECT STORM...JAMBEROO...where you control the action!' - the latter 2 phases being the Jamberoo Action Park logo, which is permanently located at the centre of the bottom of the image. The first 2 phases alternate in appearance in large bolded font (with some letters featuring clawed edges) in the upper 75% of the image. Inside the first 2 phases is a cartoon image of a black/grey tornado hitting one of the back corners of a rusted corrugated galvanised iron-roofed wooden building (with a concrete chimney) while picking up parts of the building's roof, a bus, farm animals including a sheep, a cow, a cattle dog and a horse, a Model T Ford ute, a tractor, an utility pole, an outhouse, other debris & a cyclist (with bicycle). So it looks like a 'tornado hitting a farm/country town' theme. Whilst a Tornado ride already exists at Jamberoo, it indicates that the Tantrum Alley portions of 'Cockatoo Gorge' are still and now the most likely high thrill water raft ride to be Jamberoo's new ride as a Tantrum Alley is a series of miniature Tornadoes so a 'tornado alley' theme could apply. In my opinion, I feel confident that this teaser answers the 3rd question but I would add another question in it's place: 'Is a Tantrum Alley the only feature of this top secret new high thrill water raft ride?'. Remember, a Behemoth Bowl was originally planned as the 'finale' to 'Cockatoo Gorge' (which originally was a Tantrum Alley/Behemoth Bowl hybrid) until Jamberoo Action Park confirmed exclusively on Parkz that they are no longer incorporating the Behemoth Bowl so is there a new type of 'finale'? It also makes it highly unlikely that 'Cockatoo Gorge' will still be the name of the Tantrum Alley. So far, 'The Perfect Storm' is the closest thing to a ride name but currently it is most likely just a marketing slogan. More confirmation would be required to determine if it is the ride name so that adds a new question: 'Is 'The Perfect Storm' the name of the Tantrum Alley?'. So the 4 main questions for now are: Is either 'Koala Creek' or 'Platypus River' still part of Stage 2? If one of the above is still part of Stage 2, which one has been delayed - 'Koala Creek' or 'Platypus River'? Is a Tantrum Alley the only feature of this top secret new high thrill water raft ride? Is 'The Perfect Storm' the name of the Tantrum Alley?1 point

Hi everyone, just thought I'd officially update happenings here at Jamberoo Action Park, NSW's favourite water theme park. As known we've completed Stage 1 of the 4 stage master-plan known as Kangaroo Island. This staged development will, once fully realised, incorporate 7/8 world class rides and attractions with a capacity to accommodate between 4500-5000 persons an hour. When fully completed the Kangaroo Island section of the park will have cost us around $60M, with stage 1 costing us $15M in 2012. We are still very committed to realising the entire project in the coming years and look forward to offering the NSW water theme park going public with some of the best world class rides available at that time. So to wet any appetite we are announcing here, for the first time, some really exciting news... Stage 2 of the Master-plan, incorporating 2 new world class rides and attractions, is well progressed in both design and development AND because new ride technologies available we will be NOT be incorporating a Behemoth Bowl BUT will be building a whole new ride to rival FUNNEL WEB, that will be more exhilarating ride experience, as well slightly longer in ride time... I cant say much more at this time however, I've seen the new "Top Secret" ride design and believe me it is going to be amazing! There is no firm date on commencement of construction of stage 2 at this time. Cheers for now, Sammy0 points
