  1. The point i'm saying is, would you prefer no TOTII and no new Coaster with a similar element? Or no TOTII and a new, full circuit coaster, that includes a similar element but then launches into a much longer than 20 second ride? I'm not saying the single element is enough to replace a whole icon like TOTII.... but when you realise that the element is just the beginning of a balls to the wall coaster, it seems like a fairly even trade.

  3. The left half of the ride is used for Maintenance on the ride, a small portion of the upper left side is the old Cinema which is occasionally used for small functions and the rest is the queue. Basically up until the gate where the Superman building ends is being used by the queue and the small bit of the building that isn't flush with the old outside switch backs are required (Where the tower mural matches up) the rest could be knocked down and not impact on Arkham in the slightest.

  4. Everyone knows about the backwards launch, it just got announced. The point im saying is a smaller backwards launch is not necessarily a substitute for a full sized standalone attraction. Lol its like saying an impulse coaster is the same as TOT

  5. I said to a staff member last night that I wanted to be the very last person to ride it and he turned around and said not sure why you would want to be that one "we aren't spending anymore money on this ride, wheels may have fallen off by then"

  6. Doesn’t matter how much of a DW or Disney fan, if you ride one then ride the other, there will be a feeling of disappointment in what we got. That said, don’t compare, instead appreciate what we have got, and you’ll be fine. Sky Voyager is a fantastic ride, and we are very lucky to have something like it in our backyard.

  7. Well that sucks. I dont get to make it to DW in time. Still at least we got some notice. This should have been announced at the time of the 2018 results or should have closed much closer to the opening of the Mack Blue Fire clone. I'm assuming DW finally threw in the towel if they closed the ride this early and wanted to extend the ride's life to January at the latest. Now they'll have a peak season with yet another thrill ride down and it is going to sting the main park considerably, at least they'll have most of WWW done and Fully 6 up to distract the guests. I said some time ago TOT's closing is a PR disaster waiting to happen, and they have handled it actually pretty well for Gold Coast park standards. Still, it's only a week, and wasnt anywhere near as much notice as let's say Vortex at Kings Island, but it's something. Either way good riddance. Never ran as well as it did when it ran forward. Now it is time to look into that Falcon's Fury conversion to GD.

  8. Vale Tower Of Terror!! I remember riding this in 1997 not long after it had opened and it set the thrill benchmark for Australia and made the world sit up and take notice. I am a little bit bittersweet at this announcement-especially the timing- as I am due to take the family to the Coast and visit in January. Both my kids are fairly devastated at this news, having not had the opportunity to ride this before now. Its very true that this is better managed closure than Wipeout- but not by much. A far better scenario would have been announcing the rides closure now but giving it a decent length of time to farewell it- lets say the end of Xmas school holidays. This then would have allowed Dreamworld to really ramp up the rides closure, provide people with a must do , last time attraction/ ride experience over the January/Xmas school holidays and really give it the send off that a ride of this iconic status deserves. Would also have liked a ride replacement announcement to go with this - this then would have indicated that at least management have really learnt from the Wipeout fiasco, but perhaps given the small lead in time for the closure of the ride, this says more bout the reliability and viability of the TOT remaining open than the general public have been led to believe. Fingers crossed that a new , dynamic and substantial replacement will be announced very soon!!

  9. God it's like all those council pool updates from Victoria have come to the Gold Coast.

  11. Just sent a photo of the new concrete slab by the wave pool to Bikash and he said an announcement would be made soon. By the looks of it new slides are coming 🤞
