  1. When Rivals was being built, containers would arrive, be unpacked, and constructed, and then more parts would arrive. By all photos, a significant block of Dreamworld's carpark is already fenced off to house parts that have arrived, or will already be in transit. Until such time as they commence construction (and assuming the ones that have arrived would have been the first ones constructed), holding back some of the last pieces until they know when construction will commence is probably a smart move - otherwise, they could well end up with the entire carpark filled with coaster parts... Remember, as far as we know, the footings haven't been drilled yet, and the collars are still in the carpark, so we're a ways off vertical construction yet - maybe that 30 day voyage time isn't such a big deal right now...

  2. Yeah it’d be a tight fit but I wouldn’t mind a bit of a spaghetti bowl of coasters if it means more coasters and a decent flat haha

  3. Small rustic themed coaster, ideally something from the RMC stable to replace the phyical space Log Ride took up, and a standard Shoot the Chutes in Ocean Parade to replace the role of the Log Ride.

  4. As a long term pass holder I appreciate that regular communication is being made. This forum keeps a lot of us engaged and up to date however we are the minority, the majority would or could be none the wiser on what is happening with the theme parks.

  7. Coronavirus Gold Coast: When theme parks will reopen as demands grow for answers Demands are growing to reopen the Gold Coast’s theme parks as fury grows over the gates remaining closed to the city’s economic engine rooms. VILLAGE Roadshow’s boss is calling on State Government to explain why the Gold Coast’s famed shopping centres can host thousands of customers but the city’s renowned theme parks cannot. Village CEO Clark Kirby, while praising the state’s $50 million theme park stimulation, is baffled at why theme parks like Movie World and Sea World – which he called “shopping centres without a roof” – were not in the same category. Under a State Government road map, theme parks can have a total of 20 guests at a time from June 12 and 100 people from July 10. But Mr Kirby said yesterday: “Essentially if Westfield and Harbourtown can have thousands of people through, we are essentially – if you look at our thoroughfares – a shopping centre without a roof. “We’re actually far better prepared to monitor social distancing than a shopping centre,” he said. “It does not make sense for us to open our doors unless we can have about 5000 people through the gates.’ Mr Kirby said despite meetings with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Tourism Minister Kate Jones on reopening the sticking point was how many patrons would be allowed. Destination Gold Coast CEO Annaliese Battista backed his call, saying the best assistance would be a reopening date for the parks and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: “These venues rely on large group[s but at the moment there is no road map for them to viably reopen. “It is important we get them open.” When the Bulletin asked Tourism Minister Kate Jones’ office what the difference was between malls and theme parks, the query was fobbed off by a spokesman who said it was a Queensland Health matter. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/business/coronavirus-gold-coast-when-theme-parks-will-reopen-as-demands-grow-for-answers/news-story/36f9eb09cb6500835ad15ae078c6e066

  9. To add to that, there are plans afoot to turn this railway corridor into the Sydney Harbour Highline, after the line is deemed not needed/required. This is a great plan and will preserve one of the lines for heritage trains and events whilst also turning the other line into a combined walkway and cycleway for the full length of the corridor. Perhaps when this occurs LPS could negotiate to recieve part of the land that the sidings finish at, thereby enlargening Maloneys Corner and making it a more even square set of land for the park to utilise.. (See below pics with circled area) I think this is a brilliant idea, it preserves the area as a Railway heritage line and corridor , allowing hertiage events to still occur on the corridor, but it also opens up the line to open publc walking and riding space, creating a unique public asset that people will travel to use and walk. It will also link up to the rest of the attractions for North Sydney such as LPS , the North Sydney Pool and Bradfield park and also provides a great link to to Milson Point Railway station and Luna Park ferry terminal, meaning that its easy access will make it readily available for the casual visitor or the long term local alike. 10. If it was me, i would demolish AA & it's queue and rework all that space to be a queue that enters from the wild west section with a wild west themed coaster. There are too many DC attractions and it's stupid how the back wild west section out back is huge for 1 attraction. Mind you, i am still waiting for an acceptable replacement of the Loony Tunes river ride. Maybe 2050 ha.
