Good afternoon. I was on Instagram a few minutes ago and saw this on the Steel Taipan Snake coaster

Yeah I'm so so against this. The one thing I always banged on about is how once you pony up your hard earned cash to get in the gate, the parks really were a magical getaway where class was removed. Low income families could escape being the 'have nots' for a day, and didn't have to stand there as the rich people passed them in the 3 hours queue. This is a sad time on that front. It's been a few years now (cough cough) since I was at Disneyland however it was around the time they rolled out the new app based fastpass (admittedly it was $30 a day) and it really was a fantastically set up thing. But it didn't make you 'plan your fkn magical day' before you even got there. That's once thing I really hate that they've done with the parks over the years, spontaneity is one thing that makes a theme park visit fun. But it's Disney and there is no parallel, so we will all piss and moan about it, and then as soon as Scomo opens the damn gate we'll rush out it and back on a plane to give them all our money.

I hope its not where the path is hard against the wall. The path is for walking, make it the section where the path moves away so those taking the instagram shots aren't blocking the path

I mean theres a weird irony that in that photo you have a nicely themed station for a terrible coaster and bland, generic station for a great coaster.

This has been a long time coming and a lot of US-based Disney Insiders have said that the writing has been on the wall since Chapek moved in. The really disappointing thing is that insiders have stated that revenue is pretty much the only metric that the US-based or operated theme parks care about moving forward. If they roll this out and money increases but guest satisfaction goes down, then they wont care unless that causes a noticeable dip in their income which means that if you don't like these changes then you really need to talk with your wallet here folks.

It always blows my mind, having grown up in Sydney, with direct access to Taronga Zoo, and a short drive out to Western Plains Zoo, and visiting family in Canberra and going to the Canberra Zoo, just how lacking we are in SEQ. Alma Park zoo closed. Lone Pine - whilst it does have a number of exhibits considers itself a koala sanctuary first and foremost, Australia Zoo is... unique. I mean heck - 2 years ago Sydney opened a THIRD zoo in Western Sydney - about the same size as Alma Park zoo and we can't even find 40 acres for Alma Park Zoo to rebuild!

Our position on this remains. This forum is not for policing, witch-hunts or politics. Assume people are capable of doing the right thing. Assume local authorities are ensuring people are doing the right thing within their community. It's really not hard. Take your frustrations about government or society elsewhere because if you post it here it will be removed.
