  2. Putting West out after Easter is smart. Probably one of the smartest maintenance decisions I’ve seen in years. wet rides closed in winter… such innovation!

  3. Sounds like bunch of stuff just not turned on. Likely because it was turned off during testing because it was annoying workers and nobody has checked it. Sure it wasn’t the updated sounds from before this closure?

  4. So I went on WWF this morning and there is actually a lot more changed than you might be expecting. Firstly, the queue line is the same, but as we’ve seen in images the station has had some major changes. Because of this new loading procedure, it makes the queue much much longer. Especially when there was an hour queue for Scooby and the ride has issues so closes and everywhere goes to ride WWF instead. For some reason they wouldn’t open the extended queue and instead had the queue out the door going towards WB Showcase. The boats themselves are a bit smoother, but are very restricting for the legs because of the harness system. Any larger people who have ridden it in the past might have a very high chance of not riding it anymore because there isn’t much leg room anymore. There are a lot more handrails throughout the ride was access as well. Not sure if this is new, but there is a wooden crane that slightly moves before the first lift hill (you can see it between the trees) There is no longer a staff member at the turntable where you go backwards. Instead there is a bright light and a camera. There is no video or sounds in that room anymore either, so it’s very ‘meh’ when in there. The water effects at old faithful sort of work again. The train and tribal area effects are working. The tombstone and population effect sort of works. They both do their thing at the same time, but there are no sound effects for it. The village has become very very meh. Nothing happens except for the final railing ‘breaking’. There are no sound effects, doors moving, etc. The sound pouring out the water tour happens, but no sounds effects. The final lift hill is a bit quieter and smoother, but no sound effects at all. The man with the gun projection is there, but no sound. At the top, nothing happens either. Doors open and then the drop. Some signage throughout the ride has been repainted and/or replaced too. All the sounds throughout the entire ride and queue have been updated, but they have removed a lot of them. And the ones they’ve removed I feel like are very important because it was very very quiet in the areas where there isn’t any sound. In the queue audio they also refer to the ride as the Wild Wild West adventure. So overall it’s great they’ve replaced the boats so they can keep the ride operating, but the rest of the ride is just getting worse. Every time the ride gets a refurb, it gets worse.

  5. To be honest I couldn’t give a toss for records. They are meaningless when they try to tart it up as something it isn’t or inflate it in the publics consciousness. I mean I get that it’s marketing 101 but we all know as enthusiasts it’s just a big wank. There are plenty of legitimate things that can be attributed to this coaster. 1st Single rail launched coaster in the world Australia’s first single rail coaster Just these 2 facts alone are worthy of marketing it and sounding impressive. There is no need to tart it up into something it isn’t. I just fervently hope that it rides WELL. As long as it is forceful and garners a reputation as being a quality coaster is all I am interested in. We certainly do not want it turning into another Motocoaster disappointment- where so much was promised and so little was delivered. Luna Park has waited so long for a new decent coaster that if that were to occur it would be extremely heartbreaking. Fingers crossed it’s a banger and fun to ride.

  6. The park doesn’t mess around removing everything Christmas related. Everything except the roof lights has been taken down.

  7. I mean, just say it's Australia's tallest, fastest, longest, most-inverting single rail coaster and then no-one can argue semantics.

  8. Multiple Changes have been made to Movie world’s original 2022 maintenance schedule: - Superman’s maintenance schedule has been extended 2 weeks. - Wild West and Green Lanterns schedules have been added, Green Lanterns does seem longer then normal (3 months) but at least Wild West’s closure will be in the cooler months - all the dates have been shuffled around but now multiple “big rides” will be closed at the same time (superman, doomsday, batwing closed at the same time / wild west, rivals closed at the same time) - Scooby Doo abs Justice Leagues maintenance dates haven’t been added yet, however will both most likely take place in November again same as other years side note: Merry Christmas everyone and see you guys in the new year.

  9. Circling back slightly, but I believe there is still some contractual requirements that VRTP need to meet, to continue to use the Top Golf brand. Although I'm unsure of the timelines, I know that they were meant to provide a certain amount of investment and expansion. That is one of the reasons why we have seen a few of the little hole in the wall experiences launched. When first opened, Melbourne was slated as the next "major" location, to a point where they had already started taking EOI's for Gold Coast team members to fly to Victoria to train and on-board management. I'd say VRTP will still be contractually obliged to fulfil these requirements in the near future.

  10. last time i went down to MovieWorld, Rivals had around 7 seats down and 3 minute dispatches if lucky, Doomsday around 8 seats down with 5 minute dispatches, Superman broke down around 3x and Green Lantern had a pretty lengthy breakdown too, we ended up giving up and going to Dreamworld, were taipan’s trains were ready to dispatch when the train hit the final break run, both sides of Giant Drop running and even Gold Coaster had pretty fast dispatches…. MovieWorld really needs to try and sort these issues out before the crowds come in.

  11. It was at superman and it happened during park open hours, so yes, people would have seen it happen.
