  8. The Daily Mail published this article about 20 hours after I posted the Alder Construction tender advertisement that the Gold Coast Bulletin didn't mention had the word 'hypercoaster' in it. Given it was shortly after the Thunder River Rapids incident, I assumed The Daily Mail saw my post featuring the tender advertisement/link (I thought it'd be too good to be true if they didn't) but for all I know, they might have actually did research based on the Gold Coast Bulletin article & it was all a coincidence in the end. Also, after I posted the above, Ardent Leisure's share price dropped 1% each day for another 2 days. Both were not significant drops but those drops led their share price to go out of their 2 year trend again on the 2nd day. The day after, it rose by 0.5% - taking it just back into their 2 year trend. The sharemarket calmed down again in regards to Ardent Leisure after that day and has been calm ever since but overall, their share price is still significantly lower than it was pre-incident.

  9. Given they spoke about a non-consumer area, and it being a handrail on a maintenance platform, yes, it would be a coincidence.

  10. Duh, they could do a SeaWorld and fence one off.

  11. I'd say number 2 as it would be cheaper (less fencing/operational costs). Maybe they will temporarily re-open the old access way to Rocky Hollow under the GD queue to avoid visitors using the GD bridge with access to GD from the Rocky Hollow end of the bridge & a diverted GD queue? As I think you can see Thunder River Rapids from that bridge (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If I'm wrong, temporary fencing where the Rapid Blasters are I think is guaranteed. The only problem I can see is whether to open TOT II & the western GD until the Thunder River Rapids is demolished or not? With TOT II, you can't see the station & conveyor belt of Thunder River Rapids at least (unless you tried looking). Market Place got demolished with no disruptions to nearby shops so I don't think it will affect it much. I thought re-purposing the reservoir would be easier too like turning it into a 'lake' with walkways around it or even turning it into a themed canyon/gorge. It's a large footprint so as a result, it might remain empty for a while but I don't think they will intentionally leave it empty for a long time - it's too large a space not to notice. They would be beginning the redevelopment process immediately - with the memorial first of all and as the priority & any new rides/attractions after that built with the memorial kept in mind. I just thought - the Lego Store, as we know, will be the 1st new attraction to open at DW after the incident but remember that store has access from the outside. Would they open the Lego Store before DW itself? It might give some sort of reason to go back and it might even help DW financially a bit (if people go to the Store) even if DW hasn't re-opened yet.

  12. Killer Croc is always spraying out water, do the figure is slippery and isn't exactly the best for climbing, and if anyone tries to climb it they will get wet. And it is a much bigger and stronger figure. And it would look stupid with a barrier around it. I did see today a girl stood over the small pipe that sticks up from the ground, then as her mum went to pull her away, some activated the water and the full blast of water went off and they both got soaked, was very funny to see.

  17. From all of this discussion that I've read mostly from the beginning, we have thus figured out about the coaster. 1. It is manufactured by Mack Rides so will look like this: 2. It will have a height above 200 feet or 60.96 so should look like this. 3. It may have inversions like this: 4. And Airtime Hills like this: 5. And comfortable trains like this: It appears that the 2017 Movie World roller coaster will have a combination of all of these roller coasters. (for those who care the rides shown are: Alpina Blitz, Behemoth, an intamin fact sheet, maverick, and the mack trains for the Mega coaster on their website.) This post was a mere visual aid. It kind of just restates what we've already figured out, but makes it visual for those who are a little unsure. It also sums up what we've figured out in a smallish post so readers don't have to constantly re-read pages to make sure their posts are up to date. Hope this helps some people out.

  18. What if we took the lockers from sea world, and attached them to the side of the train on the new coaster?

  19. That's correct @diesal11 a forum should be about discussion. That’s the problem with giving somebody a neg rep. It doesn’t add anything to the conversation and nobody knows why you gave it, if you don't add a post. If you gave a neg rep them, you obviously had a thought about what was said so why not share it with us. @reanimated35 Welcome back and don't leave me alone with @AlexB again.

  20. It was a maintenance area at the back of one of the kids rides. No guest access. They just asked for a new handrail to be installed on a platform. The park complied. Everyone was happy.

  21. Hi everyone, just thought I'd officially update happenings here at Jamberoo Action Park, NSW's favourite water theme park. As known we've completed Stage 1 of the 4 stage master-plan known as Kangaroo Island. This staged development will, once fully realised, incorporate 7/8 world class rides and attractions with a capacity to accommodate between 4500-5000 persons an hour. When fully completed the Kangaroo Island section of the park will have cost us around $60M, with stage 1 costing us $15M in 2012. We are still very committed to realising the entire project in the coming years and look forward to offering the NSW water theme park going public with some of the best world class rides available at that time. So to wet any appetite we are announcing here, for the first time, some really exciting news... Stage 2 of the Master-plan, incorporating 2 new world class rides and attractions, is well progressed in both design and development AND because new ride technologies available we will be NOT be incorporating a Behemoth Bowl BUT will be building a whole new ride to rival FUNNEL WEB, that will be more exhilarating ride experience, as well slightly longer in ride time... I cant say much more at this time however, I've seen the new "Top Secret" ride design and believe me it is going to be amazing! There is no firm date on commencement of construction of stage 2 at this time. Cheers for now, Sammy
