  1. I thought you'd have heaps from when you walked the ride for the tour? otherwise there's POV's on YT.
  2. To be fair, i do feel the penguin exhibit is a bit small and shit. And that/s from the guy who's spent a few years working in zoos and the likes.
  3. Many years ago when David Fleays practices were still being shunned, they could repopulate dolphins as they wished. So if an injured dolphin came in that couldn't be released, it would say and them possibly breed. then this child gets imprinted and then never properly learns to hunt for its food. On another note, if i was there, i would have Sparta kicked the ever loving shit out of atleast one of them.
  4. When i went, i stayed for most of the shows in the area, and they were all really well done. So i'd hope so, plus it would also help to kill time between the current shows too.
  5. Most movies are a roughly 3 month deal. Some more (see POTC), some less (Aeon Flux).
  6. I'ts funny, cause lately i have seen things there before here.
  7. Ok, that buggys flex is terrible. It's half way up a knee high rock and it has a wheel in the air. I've seen stock Landcruisers with better suspension flex.
  8. Running with my inner Cinephile, unless those outer blocks on the edges of the last photo are meant to be for roof tops, which would lead to Pacific Rim. My bet is the swan thing (Loch Arch?) would possibly be for the Aquaman throne room, which leads to the centre thing in the last photo possibly being your stereotypical bad buy lair bulge thing seen in many comics/movie/shows etc.
  9. In my retail experience, no matter what you do people will actively ignore as much as possible cause they're giant dicks. Ever had an argument with a customer saying there's no ticket when you're pointing to it? Or having 13 closed signs on your register and verbally saying that you are closed and yet the customer still expects you to serve them? I have photo proof of those 13 signs aswell. The public go out of their way to ignore you so they can complain or get special treatment.

    Holoverse

They say 35 minutes is the rough time or so. I didnt do experiences so i wouldnt be able to tell you if vertigo would set in. Also for a 5 year old i wouldnt recommend lost eden. Its a bit hard and theres large monsters getting all up in your face. Although LE doesnt have any height based things, i believe experiences has 2. Both i believe you can see in the video.
  11. Ive been in Queensland for the past 9 days and i've forgotton what a blinker looks like.
  12. Are the bubbles missing from the superior beers too like Tooheys? Hahn? James Squire?
  13. You mean Swamp Thing. Poison ivy doesn't life in a swamp. Does anything empty into or run through the swamp?
  14. I feel this is satire or atleast should be. But seeing the medias love of running fake news as real, i'm expecting every major news network on this story for the next year.
  15. Yesterday, there was not a single soul in the GD area. As for Wipeout, there were 2 guys tinkering with the motor area next to the booth where the arm and seats area join underneath. that was at about 11ish, but there was no one there at 330/4 when i went back past. I did however see people walking in with powertools through the main entrance though. whether that was for a ride, commercial, or Lego ill never know. Also that drone was filming plates for quite a few hours. While it said filming was for Claw and ToT, the Octo was sitting in 1 spot for the entire time i saw it. Didn't see a single camera near Claw. I also forgot to mention, there were a few guys dressed in space station outfits hanging around ToT for most of the day.
  16. That was smooth? The audio was missing for me too.
  17. Went there today, and was both surprised and underwhelmed (just whelmed for those of you in Europe). The park was relatively dead. I got there just after 1030 or so and left just after 1600 having done all the rides i wanted to (avoided ToT and BS). The longest wait i had was probably close to 20-30 minutes for MDMC which was surprisingly better than last time i rode it. Last time i specifically remember the coaster slowing down drastically right after clearing the launch right before the turn. Madagascar and Big Red Car both had better loading operations than Motocoaster did the entire time i was lining up. I spent around a full 2 hours in Corroboree and the likes just talking to the 2 guides Jared and Akayla who were more than helpful in what they're respective fields of knowledge were. It's also a great section to escape the noises and crowds. The only noises i heard were from ToT every few minutes. Having a go on the VR component of Corroboree was also something nice and different. I'm also surprised at how little (see not at all) the VR is promoted in-park. By about 1530/1600 most of the park was cleared and HWSW and TS were basically walk ons. I also noticed the WWW entrance is fairly hidden. I also agree with how much happier the staff seem to be. Justin on MDMC was overly ecstatic on every single run of the coaster, the poor bloke running BRCR was more than happy to slot me in somewhere when i said i'm a single rider (i think i was a sight for sore eyes to see someone his age without a kid let alone a 23 year old single rider on a Wiggles ride.). As i was making my way to TS in the arvo, I almost ended up in a musical style sing along with a random worker transporting a microphone when Cuban Pete came on. Jared and Akayla (and one of the zoo guys) were also more than helpful as i said earlier, but i think that was more in part of having someone genuinely interested in what they were doing and knew exactly what they were talking about (right down to Jared and I swapping Didjeridoo techniques.). @Slick did you happen to have anything to do with todays filming withe the Octodrone? Also, is it normal to get dizzy from the HWSW queue?

    Holoverse

So today i paid a visit to Holoverse in Southport (behind Aus Fair) after seeing it in one of those tourist brochures in my hotel. Easiest thing to say would be i was blown away (i'm normally very sceptical of anything boasting VR or 3D.). So first off, you get the choice of 2 experiences: "experiences" and "False Eden: Part 1". With a limited budget, i chose to do just FE. When you get loaded into your gear, all it is is a belt with a white Mo-Cap ball on the front and your glasses and "wand" in a holster. The glasses surprised me as they not only chose active shutter 3D, but through that, it was also running in an anaglyph setting, combining the two. These also had the Mo-Cap balls on either side. Then there was the wand; this was almost literally a Wiimote with the bullshit cut off the bottom and a cross-guard on the top with the balls on either side of the guard. Once assigned to your booth, you "Tap-On" with the NFC chip on the wand, then stand on the feet on the ground and hold the wand out in front for calibration. Before going in, i was skeptical on how movement was done. Basically its about 85-90% On Rails, and as you jump from side to side, the screen will shift with you. The 3D use actually surprised me in the sense that with the sword attachment, you were able to really bring it up to your nose and get not a single spec of Ghosting. As for the Crossbow (best weapon), you were able to use the scope as you would normally, despite the entire thing being on the screen. The Staff is a useless weapon. I'll be the first to admit that the story is kinda weak, but for all you fat kids with Lightsabres, if you get over 200 points, you get a free slushie. Getting over 200 is harder than it sounds too (i got 214). The only things i would change would be: - Increase the FOV by about 5 degrees. The system gives you a certain FOV and blurs and de-renders (occasionally completely cutting off) your peripheral vision. Where its currently sits gets a little annoying in the earlier levels. - Rendering. I don't know if its the processor trying to keep up or what, but in my jumping around, the environment was rendered about 10 degrees into my FOV. - Height. The game will get chopped off at times because of the screen. the screens probably only 2m high, and everything on the screen is rendered in true height. So around mission 6, the hair of one of the holograms is chopped off as are most of the beasts heads (and in the case of flying frogs, the entire unit goes off screen). This gets questionable as you have a boss fight with a dragon. -Sound. This ones just more of a nitpick than anything. But They only give you stereo Bluetooth headphones. So for you non sound people, if a tigers running at me, i don't hear it like that. You hear it as coming from the sides of both ears (also the voice mixing is bad). -Also, just slow down the 3D shift. If i'm moving my weight from one leg to another, there's no need to completely shift the 3d render like Transformers. If you're into whats basically VR, its worth the $35. It's $55 or so for 2 sessions, so you can do both.
  19. I'd say yes, but that would also raise the question as to what the brochures telling us about.
  20. So is it still 8 lanes? Cause if they widen it to 16 (if it fits) not only will they double throughput, but if they decide to add sound or music they can rename it to 16mm Aqua Racer
  21. Infinity is only quick if you make it that. I did it last march and spend probably a good hour or so in there? mind you about 10 minutes of that was me waiting for a group to come by (i was by myself) cause i saw the hands on the door after the camera and was like NOPE.jpg. And as someone who is a very effects heavy person and find it hard to be fooled as such, some of the rooms in there blew me away (not the infinity rooms, but mainly the lasers through the mirror right before the camera and the mirror to create height bridge room thing). I spent the same amount of time roughly in Ripleys. while i did move a bit fast through it, it was nice to add another well regarded pinball machine to my list in the treasure room, and i did set the then current 2nd place score on the lazer maze. Timezone i will never not go to as long as they keep the $30 combo in all its magic. It was also ranked as the #1 arcade in the world a few years ago too.
  22. You seem to have confused Batman and Robin with BvS. Well September 2019 marks 50 years since the show first aired. But it would also be nice to have the ride look more like the one in the movie. Due to there being no room in the first half, they could extend that mirror bit out about 10m and throw in maybe the Bookcase Room and the Feast Rooms from the movie and make the elevator look a bit more like a traditional elevator. So then when you go backwards you can make it look like you fell out that window they jump out of. I'd also fill that first room of the 3rd act after the brake run with a ton of smoke and project the Scooby logo onto it or something. The resulting fog will make that room more dense and give a bit more of a surprise when you see the giant cave face staring at you surrounded by a light drifting fog. Basically a pipe dream of theming. Also instead of a video, they could arrange statues of the classics like they did for the 2nd movie to place everywhere. "Forgettable" I dare you to ask the main attendance of MW as to what they've seen more of. The 1969 original series or the 2002 movie. As far as their concerned every single monster utilized in the 2nd movie whether it be real or statue, was made for the film and didn't exist prior. When i use the term Captain Cutler when talking to friends about Scoob, nobody (even adults who grew up with it) knows who i'm talking about unless i show them the photo from MU. (The only monster created solely for the movie was the Cotton Candy Glob). Also that's a VERY expensive refurb for a still recent movie. You're talking about complete train retheme/build, Completely new theming AND story, plus new music. I think what you said is more of a pipe dream than what i'd like to happen.
  23. Go Karts? So Jamberoo is becoming WnW, and WnW is becoming Jamberoo?
