Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
Tim Dasco replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Just FYI, the $10-$15 million does not include the coaster's or theming. This is just the construction costs themselves. -
I disagree, I see the fact they have gone the effort of building a proper construction wall rather than cheap nasty temp fencing. So while it will take a tad longer to finish the impression from a guest will be much better than temp fence with rent as fence logos on it. Re globe, its been put there for now, who knows if its just waiting to be moved elsewhere and just a temp spot.

Dreamworld - Kenny & Belinda's Dreamland Updates
Tim Dasco replied to Ogre's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That would mean construction on the new kids coaster will most likely start soon. Jags Journey said the Candy swing is now staying and the rock n tug ride will be moving into the land along with the ABC Ferris wheel. There's lots of space for the small rides. Room closer to Serpent Slayer and some close to the parents centre. I wonder if this means we could see the new Big Red plans ride open within a few weeks with the Candy flyer closing for maintenance in June. Question is what park might buy the Soaring Swing? -
I am going to South Korea in 2 weeks time for a uni study trip and was wondering if anyone who had been before have tips on which park is the best to do. Due to it being a study trip we only have one spare day. So want to know what's the best to do for the rides?

Rampage is Retiring at Adventure World
Tim Dasco replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
My thoughts on a Replacement or a flat ride that would do really well at the park is a Gerlsaur Sky roller, In 20 years Rampage hasn't even hit 1 million rides. Its a very unpopular ride cos its just so intense. Something like a sky roller that can be intense or gentle will be perfect for thrill seekers and families in my Opinion. Curious to hear other people's thoughts? -
'Wizard of Oz' at Movie World - Why?
Tim Dasco replied to latterature's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Not gonna lie I personally don't see the hype in this IP, I have never seen the film and most people my age haven't either in my friendship circle. I recon a family land to willy Wonka would have been so much better. I suppose they have a giant show building (LTRR) that could always get a willy Wonka ride boat ride down the track when driving school goes.... In my opinion a Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory dark ride (boat or trackless) would be the world most iconic family ride!- 24 replies

Theme Park Worldwide Announce Australian Tour
Tim Dasco replied to Noll_57's topic in Theme Park Discussion
How do we even know Universal even offered a renewal contract? Since Universal is building mini Dreamworks parks now. I wonder if Universal flat out refused to renew the contract or asked a stupid amount to basically force their hands? Also Steel Taipan wasn't just a time slot the ride was already in production. The park made changes to include the spike etc. But it could have been brought by any parks. Dreamworld management worked hard to secure it and make it fit into that spot.- 329 replies

Having ridden Big Dipper last night, something must be seriously wrong with it at the moment. That was the most rattly roughest coaster I have ever ridden. From off ride you can see the train literally shaking. The launch and layout are fun but there is something seriously wrong with the train cos that was horrible. Couldn't re ride it. Abyss, Arkham and gold coaster are like butter in comparison.

Dreamworld - Kenny & Belinda's Dreamland Updates
Tim Dasco replied to Ogre's topic in Theme Park Discussion
To add to the above the more reading I have done into it the more interesting it is. It has been stated on the website 2 new rides are coming to the area along with relocated and rethemed rides. Looking at the images posted I wonder if the Big Red Plane ride is not a re-theme but rather a new version. See planes having back rows . In terms of relocated rides the only ride I would want to see relocated from ABC kids would be the Ferris wheel or the Rock n Tug. The Tea cups ride is a sad carnival model. IMO. If the donkey flyers is not the new ride I would love to see the second new ride being a proper sized quality tea cups ride. But seeing a new coaster coming makes me wonder how this will fit into the space. Will we see the land take over TOT station? Or will that leave not much space for the Rivertown land? Will we see some existing rides meet the scrapyard? I guess time will tell. -
Dreamworld - Kenny & Belinda's Dreamland Updates

Also worth mentioning Zamperla posted this on their instagram. Interesting to see what the coaster ends up being. Looking at their website and the fact its a powered coaster. I wouldn't if its any of these models. Keen to see how they make it fit. -
I just thought I would make a thread about all the parks that have reached capacity and stoped admitting people into the gates. This goes really well in my opinion for future expansion of parks to increase capacity to allow more guests in future years. We have seen Jamberoo, Funfields, Adventure World and Outback splash all reach capacity multiple times this season. I am sure there is more that I am forgetting. AW nights is also sold out for each of the nights that have happened which is also good. How have people been finding the queues at some of these parks?

European Coaster Club Australian Tour
Tim Dasco replied to Ashley Jeffery's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Not sure TBH I could see maybe Gumbya World? Adventure World contacted the media and invited them to come not the European Coaster club themselves. So could see Gumbya World trying to get media coverage with their 2 new big toys on display.- 46 replies

European Coaster Club Australian Tour
Tim Dasco replied to Ashley Jeffery's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I know @iwerks touched earlier. But I wanna thank Adventure World for also Inviting myself out to the ERT to ride with the Europoean Coaster club today. Was great to see so many like minded people and have some fun on Abyss. The park also invited Chanel 7 out to do a story on it and also provided free lockers, a reserved group space and soft drinks to the club. Which I thought was super nice. Senior management was also at the ride thanking people and asking for their thoughts etc. Overall an amazing day. Side note: Was interesting hearing their thoughts on the park and how confused they were by the amount of lush green space and amount of people bringing shade tents and picnic blankets to a park. and to quote "This is very weird seeing people ride roller coasters soaking wet and in bathers." Im also glad they got to experience Goliath and Rampage. (Which most said was the most intense flat ride they have ever done) and Goliath being one of the best Gyro Swings in the world and a truly world class flat ride.- 46 replies

Funfields - New 2020 Tornado Waterslide
Tim Dasco replied to melbourne_guy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
We have also yet to see Gumbya World buy anything from Proslide. While White Water West are good manufactures would be good to see them buy a slide tower with some major Proslide slides on it. -
Just adding to the above regarding SIM cards, I landed in Singapore this afternoon and managed to get a SIM card at the 7/11 for $14SGD for the plan above. So really easy to get and means you'll always be connected and not relying on free wifi spots.

Not gonna lie, I recon we might see more things open flat ride wise post Dreamworld flyer as the tester. Small cheap to operate rides that are not headlining attractions just to earn some extra coin.
-
I just thought the camp net was being used rather than a normal fence for its maintenance period to make it not stand out as much?

It also doesn't look like a typically funnel. Maybe this is why its a world first and it won't be a traditional tornado funnel. -

Update from today, seems more work has happened and ride is now undergoing testing. Shade structure for the queue race also progressing. -
Adventure World New Ride DA application - 2022
Tim Dasco replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It seems you are correct. It looks like a set of magic bikes has arrived. Theming so far looks good will be interesting to see how the area comes together. There is still so much land left down on the lower lot. As the DA say a ride will be relocated IMHO I recon we will see little leaper relocated to this spot as its kinda in the walkway to the new section. Yarrli barrel spin also had work done, the roof was added a few years ago but the area has new fencing, new queue layout, new floor etc. See picture from open year (Credit AW) IMG_0604.HEIC -

Melbourne Show Rebel Coaster Incident
Tim Dasco replied to Dean Barnett's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Python Loop/rebal coaster has no MCBR, once train leaves the station you cannot stop the train. So if it had already left the lift hill there was nothing that could be done to stop it other than screaming for her to move. -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Tim Dasco replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Has anyone considered they trying to work how to actually fix it. I don't think I have seen a Mack coaster valley, or any coaster valley in Australia? Its not a quick fix and in a hard to reach spot with all supports and track around it. Valleys of this nature are minimum 14 day fixes at the absolute QUICKEST! I also assume if they take the train apart the train will then need to be tested and signed off before operating again.
