  1. Agreed, I've driven past the park several times in the past week and I have to say every time I see it I am blown away. Dreamworld always used to be the park that made a big statement when you drove past, MW was always tucked away a little bit, but now DC Rivals has brought the skyline of the park right up to the M1 and the park is now so much more impressive.
  2. Intamin rides are notorious for breaking down, just take a look at how much Top Thrill Dragster breaks down and ToT doesn't even feel that bad. Claw and MDMC really don't break down much at all.
  3. A Loke clone would be cool, the lapbars would certainly add a sense of both insecurity and freedom, and it looks massive. I love Claw, and the newer Intamin gyro swings look even better.
  4. Terrible angle, taken from my phone (sorry for the pole in the way, was in a bit of a rush), but here's another look at the fully-completed supports for the NI loop It's really amazing driving southbound along the motorway now, the loop is really majestic as you see it slowly rising above the trees. Certainly going to attract lots of people to the park just alone.
  5. Wow, now I have a person to thank for the amazing animation - thankyou @docoaster, I'm really impressed. I am interested in how you go about building your nolimits creations (moreso your own creations and not this specific one). How do you generally go around building some of your nolimits designs? Obviously this one would've been mostly "by hand", but do you usually do it this way, or do you ever use a FVD tool or some other tool to help you (either the inbuilt one or a third-party one)? You said a lot your creations come completely from mind with a little inspiration, do you usually have a clear image of what you want to build before you start or do you come up with new elements to add along the way? I'm more interested myself to see a screen-shot of the G-force comb although I doubt docoaster is allowed to share this.
  6. Not just any strange microphone, the "world's smallest microphone" Haha I love a bit of humour like they've done, Greg is a great guy. Really looking forward to more of these construction updates.
  7. Wow, the parade looks absolutely amazing (watching videos of it). Not sure about the Looney Tunes characters, but apart from that it looks like a lot of effort has gone into everything, even with a bit of a storyline by the looks of things.
  8. I'm really sad that I'm going to this park at the end of this year so won't get to experience it, especially if it does open next year. I'm pretty sure most people are about 90% sure it'll be Vekoma, since the steampunk guy in the promotional pictures is wearing a Vekoma-style restraint. I'd definitely like to see Vekoma come back with their flying coasters - the older flying dutchman coasters look okay, but the stingray model looks really unique and fun, so if F.L.Y. is something like that I'd certainly like to see more parks building similar coasters (who knows, maybe one of our parks could sometime down the track ).
  9. That makes more sense, guess I'm just more used to it being represented as blue from the TV show. Point on WW still stands though, even Supergirl would've been a better alternative. WW would've better suited an island or something.
  10. Not sure how much I like those... GL one looks okay, but why is WW in the sky (this would suit Superman so much better), and I have no idea what the Flash one is even meant to represent.
  11. I've read this, and don't need to read any more. People are going to Dreamworld. That's the point. End of discussion.
  12. Dreamworld showcased two(?) white lions in the Lair a while back. I highly doubt this is why the refurb took so long, doesn't make sense why it would be the reason.
  13. Yes, because you can still see them in your imagination Was I the only one who first thought "why are Dreamworld building a shark enclosure?" when I first saw the title?
  14. Well looks like today's the day that GL becomes a baby
  15. I mean good on DW for trying to make their rides safer, but was this really necessary? Looks like all it's going to achieve is overcomplicate loading
  16. Then there is literally no point of the whole blindfold thing Things Dreamworld could've done that are way better ideas than this: - More intense cycle on Wipeout (as per Gazza's comment above), or just a different cycle - Longer cycles on some flat rides - More intense version of Kevil Hill - as in darker or more fog (I was actually lucky enough to experience Kevil Hill one morning after the fog machines had been accidentally left on full-blast all night and it was much more intense since it was very hard to see where you were going) - Run ToT at full-speed (assuming the ride has the capability to do so, this might not be possible though) - Send Buzzsaw around twice each cycle (assuming the ride's system has the capability to do this, it probably doesn't but if it does that would be cool) - VR on MDMC (we know it's got the capability, use it) - Different audio on HWSW
  17. The blindfolded thing is just a massive gimmick, doesn't excite me at all. Honestly the only ride it'll probably be effective on is HWSW, since all the other rides are either shuttle coasters, flat rides, or too boring for blindfolds to have any effect (yes, that last one was referring to MDMC).
  18. Kraken looks like a fantastic VR experience, one of the best I've seen in terms of graphics/storyline/etc. Since we're discussing Sea World attractions, I might as well add the recently-opened brother of Jet Rescue too Honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed watching this POV. I was expecting something like Jet Rescue, but better, and what I saw was a toned-down version. Jet Rescue whips you around its transitions, this one looks like it's more just pulling riders gently around the turns. And the airtime hills don't look like they provide much airtime at all. Yeah I think our's is a lot better really.
  19. Haven't ridden it, but Swarm is always the first ride I think of when someone mentions backwards coaster.
  20. At least the media are actually trying to promote tourism now instead of turning everyone off by mentioning the Dreamworld accident.
  21. I think a 1x1m patch of dirt will be the final product
  22. "It wouldn't be that difficult at all" You sir obviously have no experience in the business/construction field do you?
  23. We have thousands of members on Parkz. Only a select few of them are actually active. And only a select few of the active members will actually be bothered to put in the effort to design a park. And I don't think anyone from that would actually put in the money that you're asking. It's going to completely shatter a 25-50m budget if the members here are deciding what to put in - the amount of B&Ms would exceed this by a long long way. Plus, I'm pretty sure everyone has already done something like this in Planet Coaster, that is until the park gets so big the lag destroys your computer, who needs to build a park when you can just simulate it for free? What even is that word
  24. You've got the wrong park, I'm only able to use my imagination at Dreamworld.
  25. I sorta disagree, while removing and building a new one would be cheaper initially, I think rebuilding would have a better payout in the long-run. An old ride that hasn't functioned for years that sits on top of part of TRRR is going to look "unsafe" to some members of the community, while the chances of that happening are much lower for a brand-new state of the art coaster from a leading manufacturer.
