If this Premier Rides rumour takes place, i will be more than happy to travel the 2 hrs to get the credit.

If the Premier Rides rumour takes place, I will be more than happy to spend twenty-two hours in a cramped economy class seat in order to get the credit.

I'm not holding my breath though. Personally I'd expect to see two B&Ms, a Rocky Mountain woodie, and an Morgan Gigacoaster installed at Wonderland in Melbourne before Orphan Rocker opens.

I'll believe it when I see it, would be cool if they did something though. They might have been talking to Premier about something other than coasters, they do build observation towers for instance. But who knows, my bet is not much is happening, but feel free to surprise me.

^Ha, they should build a decent amusement park out in the Docklands area where Wonderland is.

I was at Scenic World not long ago. (I kept on pointing out to my friend that the white track was a roller coaster but he didn't seem to believe me). To be honest with you all, I've heard this rumour lots of times. The staff were saying that it would open in 4 years but I had doubts, but if they do get this coaster up and running believe me I'll be first in line to ride. I just doubt it. They would either need to tear out and replace the whole track or fix all the wear and gaps in the track and get new trains. I'm not so sure about this rumour, even though I'd like it to be true.

It's been suggested (on these forums) that there was something about the council approvals that meant they had to keep the existing track (and keep it complete) in order to have hope of reopening it as the council wasn't likely to approve any 'new' application.

Since then it has fallen into a worse state though, and at this stage I feel confident in saying Orphan Rocker will never open with it's current track. They will be better off going to a reputable manufacturer and purchasing something from their range - albeit custom fitted to the landscape to take best advantage of the location. It'll probably mean much more involvement in development and approvals though - so it may be prohibitive for them.
