  1. The whole area is an absolute mess. The bridge, (and the mess of paths in and around it), the back end of corkscrew (which leviathan won't entirely cover), the old chairlift area, and the castle, plus all the paths around it. I've included the monorail mid station in the area below, as by all accounts its days are numbered too. I think the biggest issue is that the main thoroughfare is a choked narrow pathway in and around Mid station, while there is a broad, massive path alongside Storm that effectively leads to nowhere. Sea World spent a lot of time developing the back of the park with amazing dolphin pools, redevelopment of the old water park and so on, And now the front end of the park is getting a little love, but this hole in the centre is in desperate need of redevelopment of some description. Keep the castle if you can make it viable, but don' t keep it running as a poor man's Roxy. Get rid of the Viking's splash pool, and level out the ground between chairlift station and storm, fix the paths around Jet Rescue and the bridge - there's so much to do, but sadly with the Atlantis development, this mess of an area is probably going to have to wait a bit longer to get the love and attention it deserves.

  2. I attended SeaWorld yesterday It was really great to be back at the parks again Unlike others on here, I don’t have pictures to share of my visit to share but I do have a video prepared for you all to watch including updates to New Atlantis as well

  3. Just on the Dolphin pool proximity to the Vortex, hopefully Bikash/ Management can confirm that thought has gone into ensuring the safety of the Dolphins with a ride right next door. All it would take is a hydraulic leak.. but even things such as the rides noise could have potential impacts on the animals. Justice for Captive will have a field day when this ride opens and if the dolphins move back in.

  9. It honestly blows my mind that this isn't a bigger issue being talked about. When Vortex opens and the park is back in its full swing, I'd fully expect to see JFC out there bitching about it. Seaworld can't even try to throw Trevor Long at the issue anymore. I guess only time will tell but with all the press they've already had in recent years about their animals, this wont be a good look.

  10. Good point, we should all just keep pretending VRL is a charity, they deserve money for nothing. Not to mention the board is also currently in the process of screwing over its shareholders by flogging the company off at bargain basement prices.

  13. Thanks man I appreciate it I’ll be going to the other parks when they eventually when they reopen besides the water parks which go figure While it is a different world now we live in where some may say it’s doom and gloom, it was nice to see a lot positivity and spirit put back into the place when I attended Here’s to having the parks back into the future 🍻

  15. One story of mine which I remember really strongly is from Disneyland. I was just old enough to ride without my parents, but not old enough to wander the parks by myself. My parents sent me and my younger brother off to go ride Splash mountain. We entered the queue at the very very end, (the line goes out and around the perimeter). Anyways my parents say bye and we go off to ride the ride. We get off afterwards and our parents are nowhere to be seen. So at this point i’m really scared and don’t know what to do. (I didn’t want to walk off just incase they came) We go over to a cast member and tell them what’s happened and they tell the people and the information desk and a search was about to start. The cast member told us to follow them to the front of the park while the other cast members located my parents. Anyways, we are walking out of Critter Country, and we walk right past the area we entered and there my parents are. For some reason they thought that the entrance to the queue was the same as the exit. Sorry for the length of the story but i thought that it would be an odd park experience to share with you all. If you read the whole thing then thank you!

  16. It doesn't look 'Bad' by any stretch. It just looks bland and lacks any real imagination. I mean what is there? A metal frame that will presumably have plants on it one day, a single statue, some fences and a sign. It doesn't invoke anything really, it's certainly not themed, at best you could say it's 'styled'. Nothing wrong with styling a ride though, hell most things at SW in its history haven't been themed and it's worked out fine. I think themeing wise the worst thing about it is it's trying to be Atlantis themed. I think remove the statute, plant a heap of trees, build a few wooden huts with thatched roofs and make the presntation be 'Vaugely nice and tropical' rather than 'Vaugely nice and Atlantis' would be much more successful. That's all you can really say about Vortex. It's all neat, and clearly much more effort went into it than went into Sky Flyer, but thats not really saying anything. Will the rest of the area compete it out and make it fit more? Maybe. I still think it's the wrong ride for that plot of land and a top spin really should be closer to the coaster or somewhere else entirely, but it is what it is. A thrill ride should be nowhere near dolphin pools. Given how soon after Wipeout's closure the announcement of Vortex was and how far away it is from the other 2 planned rides, I strongly suspect that it was a pretty late addition to the project, so presumably if there is any kind of vision and imagination being put into Atlantis, you won't see it till stage 2. Fingers crossed but don't go holding your breath. So yeah, this post is all over the place and doesn't really go anywhere but just a few random thoughts

  18. I understand the loss of nostalgia when it comes to this kind of thing - I wasn't happy when they decided to re-theme Tower of Terror but at the same time, I understand the need to update and modernise (as I think most people in these forums do). Yes, the ride itself doesn't feature any of the racist subject matter of Song of the South, but to say this is a result of propaganda and cancel culture is a little extreme. I think this re-theme has been a long time coming and whilst it probably has been pushed forward by current events I don't see how anyone could see this as a negative step forward, as wiping out even the slightest traces of racism in popular culture is something that needs to continue to happen. A film about a slave plantation has no reason to be featured in a Disney Park, regardless of whether that storyline is evident on Splash Mountain or not. Lots of people will miss the ride, no one is saying you're not allowed to because I know I certainly will.
