Just chuck them in a couple of rented caravans right next to the ride site and put them straight to work.2 points

I've thought about this a bit. Dreamworld needs this coaster to open. Desperately. Sea World on the other hand doesn't NEED Vortex to operate - its a flat. A good flat, but still a flat. Opening in due course - or even together with Leviathan will probably have the same impact as if they opened it now. Dreamworld dropping $30m kinda warrants a few extra thousand to pay for quarantine and commissioning in order to get that ride open ASAP. Just have to wait and see what happens with borders and restrictions yet...2 points

I must be that retarded not to notice that the tumblebug was on the scheduled closures đ my bad GUYS FORGET I EVER POSTED THATđ2 points

Thereâs also a very real fact that Germany may not let the techs leave the country. They have a border closure in place.1 point

There were workmen on site yesterday doing something on this section of track1 point

I think any of these companies are going to have a struggle right now getting anything signed off. Gotta think on the flip side here. Maybe these overseas companies don't want to risk employees health also. In the event, something goes drastically wrong here or back in there homeland.1 point

Many industries are allowing skilled workers to come over and provide support in key industries that are lacking here. They are heavily pushing for skilled farm workers at the moment. Though I'm sure a technical specialist provided by an overseas company would be provided with an exemption to enter the country to undertake work... providing they also complete the required 2 weeks quarantine. Honestly, the money would be the main thing holding SW back at the moment. There's no point paying to fly a team down here, pay them to not work for 2 weeks while also paying accomodation for at least 2 weeks. It's definitely possible to get people into the country at the moment, it's just a logistical and monetary nightmare.1 point

With the Ranger, it was up for sale a few years ago. While no official announcement has been made it is rather old now. Remember when the UFO went. I just suddenly shut for a short time then vanished. We will see the same with Ranger.1 point

Iâve actively avoided having another child since my son outgrew BRC for fear Iâd end up having to repeat 4 years of that god forsaken ride. My partner will be over the moon when I tell her itâs time to start trying again....1 point

Enthusiasts when Movie World had only two coasters open for a few days due to maintenance - how dare they, Village is evil. Enthusiasts when Dreamworld will open with two coasters - nah it's alright, they're trying. Something something not aimed at management something something pointing out enthusiasts are biased.1 point

Buying a park for cheap is great until you realise you've gotta pump an extra $300m into it just to hopefully provide short-mid term results1 point

I don't think anyone's argued that Dreamworld is not a fundamentally viable business but those impressive figures are the product of Ardent's objectively unsustainable business model. EBITDA really isn't a great measure of anything given that this is a capital intensive industry and just how neglected Dreamworld was. Free cash flow for that five year period amounts to about $112 million. There's actually not a lot of liquidity had they been properly maintaining the park and planning for the graceful retirement of TRR, Log Ride, Wipeout and TOT and more. Jury is still out on their recovery plan: Australia lenders wouldn't give them the finance while USA lenders ring-fenced Main Event debt facilities. That's not a great start. As for book value: they'd been actively trying to sell for years. Any number of would-be buyers would jump at a park delivering those margins but I suspect due diligence and an understanding of the immediate capital requirements killed discussions with the Wandas/Merlins/Villages of the world.1 point

I agree not everyone needs to like vanilla ice cream, but there's a little cluster of people who seem to think vanilla ice cream is dogshit ice cream and anyone who isn't denouncing is biased, while meanwhile pledging an almost religious devotion to Licorice ice cream, which they also used to hate so much that they made a Facebook page to point out how crappy it is. That changed suddenly when someone from the Licorice ice cream company brought them in and said 'we're trying to improve the flavour, honest' (and I'm sure that person is). They then start trying to start a Facebook war with managers of the vanilla ice cream makers, got called out, and instead of pulling their heads in resorted to making snide comments at every opportunity when the vanilla ice cream makers do ANYTHING. Meanwhile rappa says 'I don't like licorice ice cream and here's why' and people lose their minds. Personally I don't much like licorice ice cream and vanilla ice cream can be a bit bland and boring, but in my opinion vanilla ice cream is in balance, the better of the 2 if you must compare them. If the Licorice ice cream company actually improves the flavor like apparently they trying to, I'd be delighted that they'd confounded expectations and made something good. Until then I haven't really seen anything that makes me change my view on them.1 point

Despite the Universal Orlando HHN event not running this year, the park decided to still open their event tribute store. If you donât know what it is, itâs a themed store based around that yearâs event and they sell merch, etc. With Fright Nights not going ahead Iâd love to see Movie World do a similar thing. I was thinking the building to the right of Main Street, just before you walk under the roof, would be an ideal location for said store. It could include some pros from last years event or even previous yearâs if they still have them. And sell general merch for the event and possibly old merch from previous years. Maybe it could open for the entirety of October. That allows for people to stilol enjoy a small part of the event this year. @Bikash Randhawa just a possible idea for the park, if it hasnât already been considered1 point

Iâd say since all forms of signage are now gone and have been replaced by âStaff onlyâ signage. It seems we wonât be getting a new show for some time, or ever again1 point

Since no one had yet visited/posted about WnW since its reopening, I thought I'd head down to the park and check it out. Firstly, because of the lack of attractions open and it being cold, there were very few people in the park. About a dozen cars were in the carpark. It seemed like their were more staff on than guests. At 11am there were 6 people in the wave pool and about 6 lifesavers watching said people. As you would expect, there were social distancing markers throughout the park Plenty of A frame too Hand sanitising stations like this one were throughout the open areas of the park, with several attached to walls too. Seating has been spread out and there are signs asking guests to not move them. Staff were regularly cleaning them too Plenty of attractions closed too Currently the only attractions open are the Wave Pool, Whirlpool Springs, Junior, AquaLoop, Constrictor, Aqua Racer and River Rapids. I feel like the park is already running at a lose with the amount of staff on vs guests, so I can understand why so much is closed. In summary, they're doing everything we expected. Not much is open. No one is visiting the park. And there are a lot of staff on.1 point

Right.... 1. everyone shows naked. It isnât shown on prime time tv. There was, over a decade ago, an up late version of the show, but that hasnât existed in the time youâve been alive by the sounds of it. 2. they are not told when to eat, when to go to the toilet, but they are in a game, so they play by the rules of the game. 3. your parents give shit advice that isnât factual, remember that as you get older and make your own opinions.1 point
