  1. I agree, just require everyone to board nude - impossible for clothes to get stuck in the tracks then.

  2. The attraction stopped between block sections due to loose clothing getting caught up within the wheels. QFS were needed as the attraction wasn't within it's normal evacuation space.

  3. As much as I like Tower I would have to say Corkscrew with the Arrow trains, Sea Viper and those horrible trains can do like they did to the ride and die in a scrapyard.

  4. The Claw is 10x the ride Pandamonium or Tailspin is. Imo it remains the best flat ride on the GC, with daylight second…

  6. Would be easier to disassemble it where it is and crane it back home.

  8. Very strange to need QFS to evacuate Scooby. Wonder if a ride stop kicked in at EXACTLY the wrong moment to evac normal or if there just happens to be a wheelchair guest who needs extra assistance. Could also be a loose item on the track. Elevator is also a possibility but strange its 4 not 8. I've always been under the impression it's a case of take the cars off of the track for a stall.

  9. Yeah apparently four people were ‘trapped’ on the ride 10 metres in the area and QFS was called to assist with removing then. Classic media making the safety systems sound deadly.

  10. The event is back from September 17 to October 9. Belinda’s Barnyard Buddies petting zoo, spring-themed entertainment, American-style eats, showbags and even a very special performance from Shannon Noll. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/what-s-on/spring-county-fair/

  11. 32 riders on the claw vs 40 on a Giant Discovery. Not really double the capacity. Add some turnstiles to the queue and you'll certainly get double or triple the capacity though

  14. Is it in that league? Yes. Is it better than Steel Vengeance? No. It does give Fury 325 a run for its money however taller doesn't always mean better. The feeling of the wind on your face at over 150km/h is great though. I feel the biggest weakness with Rivals is the helix is kinda tame as to how it could have been. It is the one spot that feels not as good as it could have been.

  15. Popped into MW yesterday, park was probably one of the quieter days I have seen probably due to weather and Brisbane river fire. I was disappointed with the amount of rides down but tbh this is just becoming expected at this point. Wwf, superman, lantern and JL all down. I was also frustrated on Scooby, with half the effects not working, and is it just me or is Scooby really running its age lately? Hopefully WOO will breathe new life into the park, perhaps I have just visited it too much but I feel MW is losing its magic a little. On positive notes the park looked pretty good, and the Batman showcase is really amazing, would love to see MW do more showcases like this.

  16. Went to DW today and in terms of future attractions this is how I see the priorities. Thrill Rides: Needs something airtime focused, a woodie or Rmc hybrid would be my picks. Wouldn’t say no to a hyper but Rivals is a tough competitor. Would not lose sleep if they removed Gold Coaster tbh, its had its time and its too rough to enjoy now days imo. Family Rides: Sky Voyager is amazing, the park needs more immersive family experiences like this and I think its an area DW can really shine. A story telling dark ride or flume would be my pics. Kids rides: I actually like the kids lineup. Something bluey themed, even if it was a flat would be great. Overall I think DW has a lot of potential, the park looks pretty good, just needs one or two more big drawcards that arent spinny flippy flat rides.

  19. Movie World should get a Zamperla Giant Discovery to make the claw totally redundant. 800 rph, 50% taller, 40% faster - perfecto!
