  1. The posts on Parkz of people "surprised it wasn't mentioned" are now more common than articles that actually reference the incident.

  3. Scooby was actually a very easy ride to operate as a cast member. But it was one of the last rides staff learnt due to the complex evacuations. Wild West Falls was the most intensive due to the constant walking up and down the load platform. I was trained on Superman, Scooby, West, Batwing, Lethal Weapon / Arkham, Batman, Tunes Ride and Kids Rides / RoadRunner Roller Coaster before leaving in 2013. At that point I'd say the most reliable major ride was honestly Wild West Falls, Batwing and Superman. Before the Arkham conversion it would have hands down been Lethal Weapon. As far as ease goes I was only an attendant (not the one sitting behind the main control panel) most of the time. So from that POV batwing was very easy (but also incredibly boring), followed by Superman, Scooby and Wild West Falls. As a supervisor they were all very easy honestly until things go wrong, then each of them have their quirks. Scooby is the most full on by far for trying to reset faults to avoid an evacuation. Followed probably by West. If superman decides it's going to fault, generally we just let it do it's thing as it's not as intense to evacuate compared to Scooby / West. Certainly had the most fun IMO working on Lethal and Superman (apart from Tunes and Bat Ride before closure)

  4. Hey all! I saw the video released by Sea World's official Facebook page of the Leviathan completing its first test run and heard that testing commences later at night, and went to have a look to see if I could witness it in action! There was nothing from the Leviathan in terms of test runs, unfortunately; but here are some things I saw! The operators were testing the lighting that was projected onto the timber structure. The lighting has quite a few options, with colour, transitions, and some pretty interesting modes. Of course, all of this was being manually changed by the operators. One notable mode was where the lighting follows the track around, almost as though the train is lighting up the track as it traverses. Very interesting to watch! Thankfully, there was some testing going on, I wasn't expecting it but I noticed these flickering white lights behind the Leviathan. This turned out to be the Trident completing some test runs! You can see the chains connecting from what looks to be a three-personed carriage on each section of the chain. They tested the Trident once every 5 minutes, adjusting the height and the bank at which the chains are swung. Even though there was no sighting of the Leviathan completing some test runs, I witnessed something quite bizarre. I noticed that one of the two 12-car trains was resting on the chain lift. You can see the 'tail' as well as the backwards positioned seats as well. Unfortunately, there were no signs of movement when I was watching as quite a few contractors were scouting the track and presumably inspecting the structure and rails. I was determined to watch the train go around and assumed they wouldn't leave the train sitting on the chain lift overnight, but I never saw any movement. So I returned today to see if the train had been moved; to my surprise, it was gone! I will return another day and grab an update once I see it going around. Maybe even this night! Cheers! Liam

  5. Maybe to squeeze more cycles in to make up for lost backwards profits ?

  6. I wouldn't expect them to be open yet, if that's what you mean. Construction is still ongoing. And they may have tested them, but there's just no video of them, simple.

  7. White Christmas feels like it never changes so injecting some money into it would be good.

  8. I'm generally in this camp too. Increasing prices for events as well as for entry \ annual passes does unfortunately mean some people can't afford to go all the time, and that is a sad situation for them to be in - but it is a priority thing and if it isn't worth that much for you to go (or to go as often) then that's the decision you make. I stopped going to FN quite some time ago as it was too crowded, and almost impossible to do everything on offer without paying a premium or visiting multiple times. I'd be quite happy to pay a higher price for a better experience.

  9. Instead of pointlessly speculating (and it is at that point) just give the park a buzz if you want to know.

  10. Always happy for questions, and always happy to answer (where possible and not breaking NDA's etc). Feel free to shoot me a PM I guess

  11. The Domino's example is likely more of an attempt at humor than providing dumb instructions. The company wants to be trendy and cool.

  12. There probably wasn’t a sign up telling you not to climb the fence of an operating roller coaster, and retrieve your phone. With society how it is today, you need to tell people even the most basic of things. For example, when I last had Domino’s pizza, the box had “open the lid before eating”. Like, WTF! How stupid and idiotic can you be. So, moral of the story, people and society have gone nuts.

  13. Thanks, @Spotty, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. In all honesty you could talk to me for 10hrs straight about what it was like being a cast member, and I wouldn’t be bored. And come to think of it I could probably ask 10hrs worth of questions, lol.

  14. I've been told that the water dummies are being used to test the second train after its rebuild, and are entirely unrelated to the other train getting stuck. I'm pretty sure we established a while back that the ride more likely than not, has an interlock that would prevent it from being dispatched in winds that were too high. It was definitely a combination of factors including wind gusts, but also temperature, and weight, and probably more. The ride has successfully been cycled empty in all sorts of conditions for the past five years, so one windy day can't be the sole cause.

  15. Just because someone is a businessman doesn't automatically mean they do their homework and make good decisions, Fatty McFuckhead (Clive Palmer) is a great example of this.

  16. If it's true that they got rid of him then they have well and truly lost the plot out there. I said a few years ago that current DW management doesn't understand animals. It is with sadness that I stand by that assessment.
