  1. Train is on the track and looks like they are getting all the systems up and running: https://www.facebook.com/gumbuyaworld/videos/1544797515963915

  2. Trident was testing a lot today. Not Leviathan though. Ride sign looks great! There's a themed Sea World logo behind the crane Cast members with Big Boy. Work is progressing on the Dockside Tavern. Look at the floor! A new themed pillar near the tavern and new lockers! Merchandise is here! Leviathan surprise egg toys. Didn't expect that... \ This was a nice surprise!

  3. For me it was just the audio that needs work. I like that it's a lot less produced and just seems more genuine than the traditional soulless marketing. It's an amusement park, it's OK to have some personality

  5. You may have missed this part: It's a really good point that a splash pad would have been well suited to the former wipeout site. I can't say whether it was considered or not, but by 'bridging the gap' between the current ocean area and Pandamonium, they can integrate it, which IMO is probably a good enough reason to have put it there. (It also leaves that space for the next big Ocean themed flatride in good time). 100% rock solid safe bet. "Main Street Needs Kinetics" "Night Market needs something for the kids to do besides watch a movie" As the father of a six (almost 7) year old who has spent the best part of the last 5 years primarily in the kids lands at our parks, I can tell you that we are neither wiggles or ABC kids fans (Disney Junior, followed by Paw Patrol primarily), but when it comes to "CAN I GO ON THAT ONE?" He doesn't really care what IP is stickered on the side of the ride - it's the experience he enjoys, not whose cartoon face is painted on the side (side note though - "i'm not sitting in the pink car dad, that's for girls") Yes, I'm aware this means my son doesn't really care about themeing. Don't worry, i'll teach him. We're on page 5 now - please do take the time to have a read of the last 4 pages where this was all covered quite extensively. Whether or not Puss and Gingy are going, I don't agree with the sentiment 'no need for 2' - Movie World had Batwing and the Sylvester Pounce n Bounce. Having smaller versions that look less intimidating can sometimes be needed. A swing ride a metre off the ground? cool. That thing rises up several metres and tilts? WaveSwinger1 looks too intense for me.

  6. Below are some high-res photos from the trip to the park this past weekend. The starting tub, cropped Tornado 60 element, final S-curve and final drop have all been completed. The drop into the funnel was sitting on the ground (pre-assembled), ready to be installed next. Overall, I think the slide layout is really well paced, with an exciting beginning (flying saucer), middle (tornado) and end (s-curve into final drop). Looking forward to the bonus translucent colour effects. See more photos here: https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/supanova

  7. One refurbished food outlet has opened, the other has closed to complete its refurb The floor at the entrance has been resurfaced, hopefully this happens through the entire area as some parts aren’t in good shape The bananas available at MW are now at SW The carnival games in The Plaza are closed for renovations with new (but worse) signage being installed The photo lab has relocated from the front of the park to this somewhat hidden store under the tavern Work is still happening under the tavern And the carousel has been completely removed, only the roof structure remains

  8. I honestly would take MDMC over EFMG and GC, the loop on GC alone feels like my necks going to snap in half then you hit the pothole on the loops exit and your whole body is in need of a chiropractor. MDMC can be fun with friends, especially in the side car which enhances the ride so much.

  9. I think the sound stage sets you're talking about didn't remain the same the whole time... I don't remember this mansion set, but I do remember an alien space ship type set (where they used polystyrene meat trays as panelling on the walls) and I also remember the Riddler's Lair set, which used a bunch of scanners (lighting) with Question Mark gobos on rotate - a bit like this IIRC That building is the exit shop, not the entry. Above the exit shop is the concrete ramps and queue rails leading to the entry which is just above and to the right. Can confirm though that the theatre building remained standing post demo of the coaster, (though it does look like they've removed most of the elevated concrete queue area outside). Whether it stays or not, can't say - this is current as at October 26th.

  10. It’s absolutely fantastic to see new merchandise for Leviathan. Seaworld look to have hit it out of the park.

  12. And we have some new photos of construction today too thanks to @Luke https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/supanova From the video, the layout: Compared the original design: Happy that they made the the final drop the same size as Gravity Wave, looks much better. The flying saucer looks a bit supernova-ish too.

  13. Geez you go on a holiday overseas, and look what happens! I'm impressed with what's going to happen at DW, especially with the return of an old river town style area where ABC has been occupying. The investment as a whole looks positive for the future of the park, while still keeping real estate for future growth (mainly thinking RHLR/Blue Lagoon). I'm curious to see if the Tower of Terror station footprint will go to Rivertown or Dreamland, considering that the train line acts as a natural border. I'm struggling to come to terms with the Flyer at the fountain. For me, whenever I'd visit DW after years of not having been, seeing the fountain reminded me was back where Id had so much fun and adventure with family and friends. Not that it was at the Fountain that I had those experiences, but that entry always was our launching pad. Many a family photo gets taken there as people first enter the park, seeing pics of people with their parents from the 80s or 90s, who are now parents themselves getting similar photos. If you don't connect with the park as you enter in this way, that's fine, but that was my magical moment, not entering the park through the turnstiles, not approaching from the carpark. If the Flyer was added with water fountains surrounding it (boarding platform obviously part of/built from ride base), as @Jobesuggested, that would be nice.
