  1. Yeah - mourning for this ride started a long time ago. Now it's just rubbish that the park has let sit for way too long, and it's good to see them tidying things up, even if a ride or install isn't planned for the area. I don't follow his page, but looking at these (and taking into account how often his content is reposted here and elsewhere) I can't blame him for such a bold watermark. The fact that the colour changes based on the background, and the placement is different in each one to place it in a spot that doesn't obscure anything relevant to the shot is good. If I can still see the entire image \ not missing anything covered by a watermark, I don't really see a problem.

  2. Looks like they're starting to wrap the wall. Images from Dreamworld's Golden Years:

  4. More of the flume is being dismantled (thanks to Jaggs Journeys) Not gonna lie, a bit sad to see it go. I have memories of being on this ride as a young kid at Sea World and my grandma sitting at the back trying not to get her hair wet, and me laughing when she did end up getting wet.

  5. Idea for you Dreamworld, why not show off all the stuff coming to the parks over the next few years and even tease (even if it’s super vague), what’s to come after 2024s works.

  6. I never would've known that if you hadn't had mentioned it, his watermark is far too subtle.

  7. There could be any number of reasons why it didn't go in one hit, but now that we have one i'd guess that the rest are going to appear pretty fast.

  8. Well.... white fixes everything! /s I'm confident in saying this wasn't their original plan - otherwise it'd have been white from the start. If this is their fix, it's poor, but if they've gone white to offer it as a canvas for a paint and sip class or some local tag artists like I suggested a while back, then I can't wait to see what they put up. I think it'd be a great local touch to get any long-term hoarding tagged up or otherwise painted by artists. (As long as, if the park tries to reuse them or copy the art for other purposes besides hoarding they pay the artist for usage, of course)

  9. I think the most accurate answer is "you'll know it when you see it". Furthermore, it's going to vary from guest to guest (or group to group), but boils down to whether the guest feels that they got the product/service they paid for. What I'm going to say is not going to be popular but I think there's some validity to it; For some folks one closure may well be enough to justify a remedy from the visit. If, for example, the park has repeatedly made representations to you that you should visit to ride their brand-new ride (and possibly even marketed to you solely about the new ride) then you may well feel that you did not get the product/service you paid for and should seek a remedy from the park. If you were visiting with young children and a substantial number of the children's rides in the park were not open then you may well feel that you did not get the product/service you paid for and should seek a remedy from the park. If you were an adult or teenager who visited the park and found that a substantial number of the thrill rides in the park were not open then you may well feel that you did not get the product/service you paid for and should seek a remedy from the park. All of this assumes a couple of things, though; That the park took reasonable steps to provide you clear and accurate information about known issues (whether within or beyond their control) that may affect their ability to deliver the product/service you paid for, and what remedies they would offer in this scenario. Were proactive in providing updates to the customer about any changes to the nature of the product/service you paid for.

  10. Saw the "innocent baby and adorable puppy killing" wall for myself today. It's not that bad, I don't think most people will care, especially when there's an excavator visible inside it, and the access gate to the area is black mesh. Would be good to see some wayfinding, promotions or other signage on it - missed opportunity to market attractions etc. Or as suggested elsewhere here, let some pro graffiti artists do some Dreamworld art work on it. Park was basically empty being a Tuesday. Steel Taipan was running the spinning seat train and was going around almost full but no queue. Gold Coaster was struggling for guests, my ride had 4 passengers and was rough as - seems worse when it's emptier IMHO. Claw about 3/4 full. The Flier is really going to liven up that area with movement. I've never ridden anything like it, but I'd probably give it a go when it opens.
