  1. For construction that's going to start in July, they certainly are doing a very early media release about it. And by media release I mean I literally didn't hear about it until a friend shared a 7 News post a few moments ago. With this thought in mind, I think it's been a constant bugbear for a lot of people over the years that the parks still have this Apple level of secrecy about new attractions because of the Ardent/VRTP rivalry when the reality is in the age of social media even Apple are getting more transparent. Even Disney, a company that once had the same psuedo-Masonry style level of secrecy about new attractions, is releasing video clips and artwork of new areas as they make them. Granted, there's some interesting folk on here, but every basic digital marketing 101 strategy will tell you something like "engage your loyalists" as step one, and here we are in 2016 being the last to be informed when the reality is we're the ones who will proactively engage a huge audience, tell our friends and share the information around more then anyone else because we love the industry so much. Seems backwards.

  2. Yep, pretty sure I recall that being discussed at length before. Not so much a council regulation either, more of a "I don't want to see my million dollar attraction sink into the lake" kind of regulation

  3. I don't think it's just the weather. The whole atmosphere is meant to be crowded. People everywhere, sights, smells and sounds. The bustling plaza with all its food offering and hoards of people is all part of the vibe in my opinion. If it was quiet and empty wouldn't feel the same. This is one event where I feel busy is better.

  5. According to someone's comment on one of Jamberoo Action Park's Facebook posts, the parts for one of the new rides are sitting in the theme park's car park.

  6. You'll grow into it again. I'm jumping out of my skin to buy my son his first lego. it's a few years off obviously - but i can't wait. Lego back in my day was a lot simpler than all this modern ninjago stuff. I guess they moved with the times... now i'm going to have to relearn it all again!

  8. So this just happened. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/things-to-do/lego My guess is that they're renovating the Fairytales building or they're going to replace the old Q4U corner with something new. On a side note, i'm over this word "precinct" being used for everything new in theme park lore. If it's a new building, call it a new building.

  9. WBK is open on Carnivale and is packed, can't see where you would get all those stalls in that area unless in the walkway between WBK and the big screen. The issue then would be people queuing across the walkway making it a nightmare. as you mentioned, wet weather safety would be a primary reason why it won't be moved, availability of power outlets could also be a factor, as well as closeness to the kitchen facilities/food storage areas

  10. Most likely. The fill for the new runway at Brisbane needs to settle for about 4 years before runway and taxiway construction can start. Different loads (landing A380 vs foot traffic) but similar concepts.

  12. Well if that 45min sign is for two gondolas running common sense would indicate that with one gondola running the same point would equal about a 90min wait, not rocket science. Considering it was a Public Holiday the park would have been running on skeleton staff, top that with the fact that Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild were closed and you would have to expect long lines throughout the park.
