  1. Occasionally I'll search through tender websites for theme park projects and yesterday's search at work had delivered some treasure. Here is what is worth noting: This is what the queue line and station looks like. It would appear they are going with a snake skeleton shade structure. Exit Path. There will be 2 tunnels. This is the modern entrance sign is going next to Sky Voyager in Main Street. They will be cutting and filling a sizeable amount of the coaster's site. As a result there will be a large, imposing retaining wall on the Giant Drop side. A look at the station structure. It looks the same as Rivals or Green Lantern. Ramp up to station. An overview of the site. I do not know how this will integrate with Buzzsaw. There is a lot of mentions of the name "Steel Taipan" in the documents, which must be the name they are going to use. When you go to the Australian Trade Mark Search website (https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/quick/result?q=ardent+leisure) you can see they have trademarked that name already. If the trademarks are anything to go by, you would also assume that Sidewinder may be renamed GoldCoaster (or The Gold Coaster or something like that) once when it opens again. There is a lot of PDF files in the tender that were cool to check out including Mack PDF files. Happy to upload them somewhere or send them to Parkz to upload if you all are interested to look at the tender further. And before anyone rages about leaks these files are easily available on the tender site and those names are found on the public Aussie trademark website.

  2. Well if they’ve been there for that long and you’ve seen them why are you surprised nobody has posted them if you yourself didn’t post them??

  3. Since no one had yet visited/posted about WnW since its reopening, I thought I'd head down to the park and check it out. Firstly, because of the lack of attractions open and it being cold, there were very few people in the park. About a dozen cars were in the carpark. It seemed like their were more staff on than guests. At 11am there were 6 people in the wave pool and about 6 lifesavers watching said people. As you would expect, there were social distancing markers throughout the park Plenty of A frame too Hand sanitising stations like this one were throughout the open areas of the park, with several attached to walls too. Seating has been spread out and there are signs asking guests to not move them. Staff were regularly cleaning them too Plenty of attractions closed too Currently the only attractions open are the Wave Pool, Whirlpool Springs, Junior, AquaLoop, Constrictor, Aqua Racer and River Rapids. I feel like the park is already running at a lose with the amount of staff on vs guests, so I can understand why so much is closed. In summary, they're doing everything we expected. Not much is open. No one is visiting the park. And there are a lot of staff on.

  4. Well spotted. That should help the "abomination" out too, removing the steep grade and tight radius curve. That's to pre-queue three passengers worth of trains.

  5. I visited WnW this morning and here is a look at the scales that were talked about earlier in the year Extensive maintenance work is happening on Calypso Beach And while I didn't get a photo of it, the shade sail has returned to the Black Hole and it appears all works on the structure are now complete

  6. Also, it says on the final drawing, “wait space for 3 trains”

  7. Looks like the train will be getting a new track layout passing buy the southern end of giant drop and no longer doing the loop around blue lagoon and a new set of track's to the maintenance sheds.

  9. @Brad2912 woah slow down there buddy. I actually enjoy your post/content. The edit reasoning was not a dig at you or myself expressing my distain for you. However it is simply the top definition on Urban dictionary for assclown: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=assclown I was curious what the definition was, I thought others may be curious too. anyways you cannot be considered an “Pre-pubescent Ass-clown/s” as you are too old and not a child. You may be an old clown who hides his pain through laughter but that is just my assumption. I just found the connection between your post and your profile pic was too good an opportunity to make a joke. A joke that you did not find funny. A joke that was saldy misinterpreted. I had hoped the laughing emojis would express this but they did not.

  10. The first two letters of Parkz stand for "Passive Aggressive". You'll learn to ignore it soon enough.

  11. I hate it when a park has gone to shit and then a new team come in to try and fix it but constantly get shit on for not fixing it fast enough

  12. See this is a weird comment... John Menzies built countless amazing attractions, albeit with much less budget than would be needed to do today with all the bullshit hoops and standards that need to be dealt with. Then you had the joke that was Tim and Bob come in and just destroy everything, gut quality attractions and replace them with trash. Demote the parks from destination to regional category on purpose, and cut costs everywhere possible. Now you have Clark and Bikash, arguably the two most passionate people in management since John Menzies running the show, and building a team of people below them with the same values. They’ve got years worth of shit to undo from the mistakes of the previous management, I’m sure they would love to build quality attractions like Tunes, but there is much turnaround to do first.

  13. I woke up at 9, all excited that this would be my 6th visit to a theme park in only 2 weeks. It was to be Wonderland Sydney, since I have returned from my trip. My good friend Andrew Kew and I had organised for us to go on the last saturday night trading day possibly forever. We originally planned to meet up there at 9:45am, but my mum had to get some money out of the bank, so I arrived late, at 10:05am. We brought out tickets, and headed straight for.. Bounty's Revenge This is a fun little ride, but the OTSR's and lap bars are way too tight. This ride actually stops you from putting your hands up, since you have to concentrate on holding the heavy OTSR around 3 inches from your chest. This would have been an excellent ride if more comfortable OTSRs were in place. Still, hanging upside down for a long period of time is still fun Rating: 6/10. We took a walk heading for Goldrush, as we saw the new relocated ride doing some test runs. It is the Zamperla Baloon Race, and is called "The Great Baloon Race". I thought that the colours were inapporpriate for an 'olde' section of the park. Anyway, Goldrush was closed so we headed to.. Demon This ride was only a 1 train wait. This is just your standard vekoma boomerang, but is surprisingly smooth in cars 4,5,6 and 7. Definately worth re rides if the line is short. But the front is nothing special, since your head gets brutally beated through every single part of the track. Oh and btw, my friend Andrew and I have this 'thing' when the train departs the station. It sounds as if the wheels are very sticky, and it makes a slurping noise. So yeah, we ahh.. just love that sound Next up was Space Probe.. I had to drag Andrew on since he doesn't really like freefalls. Space Probe Space Probe, to our surprise was a complete walkon. As we boarded car number 1, Andrew was quite 'relaxed' so to speak. We ascended up the mammoth 225 foot tower, at an approxiamate speed of 20kph. We reached the top, my arms and legs were extended.. while Andrew had his hands firly grabbed onto the grab bars. '5, 4, 3, 2" *click Andrew was silent, and so was everyone else on the car with us. I was enjoying the awesome Intamin freefall. And then, it was over 'shrroooom'. The magnets kicked in and our picture got taken. 'Liam why did you do that to me?' Andrew said loudly. I just laughed After our ride, I took some time to admire the Intamin badge on the side of the car. Goldrush was open, so we decided to run to TBB. The Bush Beast As we were approaching TBB, we noticed something that we thought never would happen again.. 2 TRAIN OPERATION!! Loading times were great. We boarded the yellow train, and were off. As we were ascending up the lift hill, the red train was in the brake run. Andrew and I were in the front of the train, and I had my video camera running, for a great POV video. The drop isn't as intense at the front than the back, but still delivers a great thrill and some airtime as you go up the hill. The train made a slow turnaround, and then stopped. The brake released, and we made our way down the relativley large drop, over the hills and turnarounds we went. Quite a fun ride, and actually quite smooth at the front.. that is though compared to the back. Rating: 7/10. We grabbed a few more on TBB and then headed for Tasmanian Devil. As we were queuing, I decided to grab some footage of the ride. I turned my camera on, and a weird thing started to appear. "F02" it said, as I was getting more and more worried. I had to take the tape out, it looked fine, so I put it back in. Presto! Problem solved. We grabbed more rides Demon, SP and Bounty's. As we were on Bounty's, my friend Andrew asked one of these guys to place my bag on the platform below. The guy literally chucked it, and the bag landed hard on the platform. I was furious at the idiot who chucked it. I know I should have told him that there was a $3000 video camera in there, but still, you dont just 'chuck' peoples bag. Total disrepect. The 5-9pm trading went quite well, with lines that werent too bad. It was truly amazing to ride TBB, Demon and SP in near complete darkness. The highlight of the day would have to be that Andrew and I got the last ride on Demon for the night.. and the last late night trading ride possibly forever! Unfortunately, there is real serious problem with the video camera. We have to take it to a repair place to fix it... Anyway, it was a pretty cool day. ~Flea

  14. That is very good news. I'll be sure to contact the park soon to see what is going to become of that. Marvel is one of the big players in the whole character industry, they'll want something more than a few costumed guys wandering around the park - with a bit of luck, some nice big rides that are worthy of the Marvel Comics name.

  15. How about we cool it with the faux outrage? Nothing here comes anywhere near personal attacks, gate-keeping or passive aggressive, so this whole exchange is thoroughly uninteresting.

  16. That's the phrase I was looking for.. Sums it up really. You have an abnormal view of what a conversation is if you think that was one. You could have worded your response in an entirely different manner than what you did. You could have easily said "Actually, wooden coasters are quite common etc" and been a good Samaritan. Instead you dished out a hostile response simply because I didn't not express the same level of theme park knowledge and connoisseur-ship. I am absolutely fine with being questioned but what you did was simply condescension. There was nothing to question, I stated I am not entirely knowledgeable about the parks developments in 2020.

  17. Well, I stand by my claims, which are backed by statistics and figures, that Wonderland is performing at the forefront of Australian theme parks. They are attracting crowds that make the park not just viable or profitable, but it is performing well above expected. Wonderland has said they're building a 'Wonderland Business Park' over the next few years. I say, that this would be pointless, especially with such a name, without the Wonderland Theme Park also operating. The selling point of this Business Park will undoubtedly be the exclusive use of the theme park at non-public times. It isn't a case of Wonderland being given a period of time to shape up or disappear, the park has developed tremendously over the past few years, and attendance has reflected this improvement in park quality. I don't think the park has poor public relations. Quite the contrary, they always give out information freely without any problems, unless they've been instructed to keep hush-hush, such as with the forthcoming thrill ride that was confirmed last year (nothing since, however), or who knows, though highly unlikely, the eventual demise of Wonderland Sydney as a Theme Park. :?:
