Thing is DW could actually convert that cinema to IMAX Digital given it's a smaller size screen. Apart from licensing that's a lot cheaper to run. Nothing will ever replace the amazingness that 'was' Sydney's IMAX 70mm in 2D on the worlds biggest screen. I feel like that's a dying thing and question if Sydney will even re-open at that size.

I think many people here would be surprised to learn just how many people in management at Yas Parks are actually aussie (and in fact VRTP) ex pats. There seems to be quite a good culture for ex pats over there and everyone I know is saying only good things about the place.

Seriously WTF, why can't this park get it's shit together ever?

Omg I love Parkz. We've gone from full theming happening now, to postponed, to the ride becoming D.C. and all theming being destroyed in some mystery incident in like one page Cant say we don't hold our own for entertainment value alone. Salute to the Light Horse Ends 30th Nov

Push different is not necessarily 'not as good'. The Light Horse segment is the best reviewed part of any show AOS has ever done in 12 years, so it's hard to say it's not as good. My feeling is you will be happy come December 1st... -
I'm sure it had nothing to do with Boost not wanting to be associated with a dying brand.

Salute to the Light Horse Ends 30th Nov

Theres actually 5 scenes cut from the High Country Legends show, 2 entire characters/leads and several other sections shortened to accomodate The Salute to the Light Horse in the High Country special show. The circus scene that features in both was also highly modified. So there is quite a bit different in them. -
"Strange things have been happening in the park, A Volcano has suddenly appeared"

Clock... yeah things break, give them one too... But the Snow? That's actually piss poor. Like it's a seasonal decoration that has just been PUT OUT cracked and broken after sitting in storage for TEN MONTHS... are there standards at all?

Yay more closed things at Sea World

Soarin is NOTHING like a hokey ass 7D cinema regardless of scale and the seats actually move less. In true Disney style they looked at the footage, seating position, movement, smells, temperature and musical score as one cohesive experience and created a truely unique and breathtaking attraction. There is zero chance Dreamworld will get ANYTHING like Soarin.

Justice League effects stop before ride ends
rappa replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
There's something very cooked/shit about how the show timing for that ride works. Did you stop mid ride? It's like it starts the timing when you dispatch and then runs because if ever there's a stop everything is out and runs out before you end the ride. -
Oh wow see I heard TG hated that wall so it was to be a screen, I didn't think it would be two relatively small LED screens

Just no Its a damn carousel, excuses need to stop being made for their aging, poorly maintained piles of crap rides just sitting idle because of this or that. 1) the gearbox shouldn't break 2) if it does, get it sorted and reopen. Closed for months for a damn kiddy ride. Ffs -
Yes IMO 'the freezer' style mazes are one of the most effective, there were people literally scared of nothing in there. The film vault version was a nice touch at adding just a bit extra. Id sooner see a maze like this as an extra addition and leave scenic budget for plussing others. They cost a lot to run (huge amounts of fog fluid) and the fences cop a beating but they are quick and simple to construct.

The trams are based at Paradise Country and are used to shuttle inbound tour groups who start their day at Movie World and move to PC in the afternoon. They are also used for functions. Day guests simply walk into the park after parking with the re worked entrance. Back when PC was only for groups, you couldn't walk into the park and everyone had to come by tram.

The 'Hell's Gate' entrance was definitely once the period of Adults Fright nights had begun and the first year of Sudden Impact being involved properly. IMO the best mazes of all time for character and detail were Wolf Creek 2, Evil Dead and Hillbilly Slasher because they were more than just a walk through and people they yelled boo. They had environments, change of levels and texture and a greater sense of place and journey. Since then the mazes have kind of stagnated with almost 'same maze, different wallpaper.' The envelope isn't being pushed in terms of scares and technology and I think the scenic has actually regressed. It's still a solid event, but the maze side of it isn't progressing at all.

I've said this before, probably 1000 times. THEY DON'T BREAK DOWN they simply have a routine stop for safety purposes. The reason other advanced automated machines don't do this is they aren't for public person conveyance. As soon as you put people on something a whole additional set of ultra high level safety applies and it's just to feasible to have attractions that can avoid stopping. If they did they would cost an extra 100 million dollars to implement all that is required. The closest thing to rides are probably elevators, and I don't know how much experience you have with high rises but they break down regularly enough, and they are doing a simple mundane relatively slow task.

If they did that how would people know they were at Dreamworld? -
Wtf should you get a free shirt for being 'inconvenienced' by 10 mins? Im sorry was there an important business meeting to get to AT A FUN DAY AT A THEMEPARK? Honestly the entitlement of people these days is just a joke.
