Because “Theme park ride safety features work, but cause mild inconvenience to guests” doesn’t sell newspapers…

You can never trust a headline (or full article) these days.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Amy Smith demanded a full refund on her annual pass that she’s used for the past 11 months for this “ordeal”

Yes the journos hate theme parks. If they had there way (especially Seven) all the parks would be shut forever.

Nah they want them just barely operating so they can report ever kid who tripped. If they were closed they wouldn’t be able to report their “horror stories”

The way the world is going im waiting for somebody to sue a park for fat shaming because there to fat for a ride surprised it hasent happened yet

i will say this is the most random thing i’ve read on here.

A ride stopping upside down, even if it’s for the safety of guests, would be frightening for those on board, especially since probably all of them wouldn’t know they’re safe. The hangtime on Pandemonium makes me uncomfortable enough, i can’t imagine being stuck like that for 1-2mins, and that gives the media so much opportunity to twist it into the dramatic narrative they love spreading about the parks. It’s a quick, easy story that gains them a lot of attention and traction, smart business move but shitty morals.

Can a mod fix the spelling mistake in the thread title?

Because it seems poor spelling is contagious.

Don’t all phones have auto spell check these days??

They don't hate them at all, they just like clicks. the article and the headline has to get you to click on it, so they'll market the coast's new ride one day, and then post about the horrible operations and disappointment of all the folks who travelled interstate just to ride it and couldn't because it was closed.

They go with whatever headline sells, and 'ride stuck causes terrible ordeal' works better than 'minor inconvenience delays guests for a total of less than 120 seconds.'
