They based the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on the movies, and WB has the movie rights to Harry Potter.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Universal didn't do a deal with Warner Bros - the deal was between Universal and JKR. While theoretically possible - the standards required for Wizarding World related attractions would be out of MWs budget. I love the idea, but the world of HB simply lacks relevance. I'm pretty sure the last Flintstones movie was 2000. The Jetsons was 1990. The only HB IP that have any level of recency is Scooby Doo, Smurfs and Tom and Jerry. And the park has 2 out of 3. Not sure they'd get the modern take on Smurfs as that's a Sony\Columbia production, and i'm not sure the cartoons would hold up today against that modern look.

Like that would ever stop them. Like any external group, they'd have a contract. the contract could be up.

I'm pretty sure the DCR painting got postponed last year because Superman shit the bed and they wanted DCR back online to fill the hole. So the locker upgrades got put on hold. This doesn't mean they've abandoned the idea... (although it doesn't mean they haven't either - if the money allocated for it in last year's budget got spent elsewhere, and they didn't allocate funds for this year, then it's stalled indefinitely.

On an off peak Tuesday you may find 80% of your visitors are annual pass holders, so there is no direct gate income in that day from a large portion of your crowd. then the avg duration of stay for annual pass holders - something not able to be tracked, as that then impacts revenue per head on F&B (annual pass holders more like to leave before lunch, or arrive after) and merch (annual pass holders less likely to buy on any given day). There is a myriad financial lines to consider; of which you have only handled a few. but as I said, if it was just an activity in fun, then it’s accuracy is of little consequence

Wire ropes get replaced on superman as preventative maintenance. Same as on batwing. You can't see the internal structure as it's actually made up of multiple spiral strands of wire wrapping inner cores, themselves spiral wrapped forming an even larger inner core surrounded by outer spiral winds. Think of it more like multiple wire ropes surrounding multiple inner ropes spiral wrapped around to form the outer. Most of the reasonable cost testing machines run the length of the rope checking for variations in thickness with very fine tolerances or use very powerful magnets checking for deviations which indicate some sort of deformity (usually broken strands). The absolutely unreasonable machines basically xray the rope. Alternatively, as preventative maintenance you can inspect it and replace it well before the next test date is required or the service life is reached. These are the end stops holding the rope packed tightly. They are sandwiched between wear blocks and bolted into position to anchor them to things like the catch car.

Showtime FMX is who runs the shows, and they seem like a bunch of revheads who only seem to make shows for themselves.

I’m very surprised that Mad Max hasn’t had any major presence at the park thus far. It seems like it would be the perfect IP for them to utilize in a big way.

Now that you mention the other WB IPs I feel like Movie World should have brought The Funtastic World of the Hanna-Barbera to their park since WB owns Hanna-Barbera if they added motion simulators into their park that is.

Might be a new mini event for the Spring Holidays, like "Music on Main" they did in 2023 - but with "action"?

I believe Warner/HBO own the series but unsure about the merchandising and theme park rights. Sony still retain the game rights, and likely the merch and theme parks rights (at least for the games, not sure about the series)

Universal only license the rights for their specific parks and exclusion zones around their parks. Village could license Harry Potter from WB at any time (and have previously) for an attraction. WB World in Abu Dhabi is currently building a Harry Potter World. There are plenty of other WB/New Line or Village Roadshow IPs to choose from: Dune, Mad Max, Happy Feet, Final Destination, Lord of the Rings, Austin Powers, Mortal Kombat, Ocean's 11, The Matrix, Gremlins, The Exorcist, Wonka. They also distribute the Monsterverse (Kong/Godzilla) for Legendary Pictures, and Mattel movies like Barbie. Mattel previously licensed Hotwheels to Dreamworld. There's also all of the WB/HBO TV series like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, Friends, The last of us, Rick and Morty, etc. Village don't need to look outside the WB catalogue for popular IP that would create amazing theme park experiences. They just need to be willing to spend the money on the license AND creating an amazing experience.

Green Lantern was testing quite frequently this afternoon with it not meant to reopen until September 19th, i wonder if it will be reopening early due to the issues with Flash and Superman.

They realised that it would improve the guest experience and they didn't want to break their current streak of "that will do".

It certainly would and they used to have one!

Hopefully if true they re-do it from scratch and make a completely new one but knowing Village nowadays they will make it even cheaper than HWS2 to cut costs and reuse the same set being used since 2008. I would love a Mad Max stunt show: it's Australian, you don't need to perform much upkeep given everything is rusty and abandoned and it's the perfect theme for a stunt show.

With all the great Action IP Warner Bros own and would make a great stunt show, seeing that huge area wasted on a boring and corny drifting show is a big disappointment.
