  1. Today
  2. Not sure if it’s been like this for a while, but this photo from TPSN show it’s looking the textured look
  3. The castle should be repainted to the original paint scheme.
  4. Yesterday
  5. like I said - 'I hope'... nothing would surprise me these days.
  6. I hope they aren't going from the really nicely textured stone-look paint job to some flat grey basic look.
  7. I know you know. I just posted that for the people that dont/didnt understand.
  8. Some repainting is happening left of the castle @Theme Park Girl
  9. And WnW have closed the wave pool after the winter school holidays for as long as I can remember
  10. It's winter every pool needs to be closed at some point for maintenance this is what happens when you open a waterpark all year round and don't have a seasonal winter closure.
  11. Who said anything about sitting it on the track? As I said - you might need more machinery - eg: a second crane to support the still-mounted car while the first one is lifted away - but it can be done. I've no doubt if the winch-out method they used hadn't worked, for whatever reason, they'd have started removing cars in just this way.
  12. Drove past the Beattie Rd boundary (graveyard, monster truck location) and they had installed a new fence along that perimeter and could see heavy machinery operating over the top of the fence so likely clearing and levelling the land
  13. Yeah, no doubt they do. At the time they didn't though is what I was meaning and nobody was quite sure how to remove it. Thats the primary reason it took so long. There was literally no procedure in place and nobody is going to take any responsibility for damaging something unknown. You can't just unbolt one car from the other and sit it on the track. Even if you don't care about the train, what about the track itself? It's not bullshit at all, it's literally what happened. Now. I know exactly how it works, why do you think I posted? I also know that the entrance way for rivals originally wasn't wide enough to take the assembled trains out the front of the maintenance bay and everything had to be loaded/assembled from the rear.
  14. How do you justify shutting down the pool at a waterpark?
  15. Movie World does, they have 7. One in the same spot as Steel Taipans and another 6 (one for each car) Excuse the awful photo (had to mess with the colours so you can see inside)... but it shows how this works, the 2nd wheels run on the metal railings and are pushed by the drive tyers and these are the wheels that run along the rails, the white wheels (hyperia's trains)
  16. The gates were blocked off for most of Winterfest, but I believe they just went to the effort of moving equipment and fencing during this time so the night markets could still operate during the school holidays.
  17. @franky it’s been open for almost 4 years and you’re right in saying it pretty much hasn’t had a long maintenance period (I think the longest was a month around the time of the Giant Drop refurb). To my understanding the park were able to develop a maintenance plan with Mack Rides that ensure the ride does receive its proper maintenance, without compromising the guest experience. Checks happen out side of park hours, and they ensure they have a sufficient amount of stock for all the parts they may require so it doesn’t delay reopening. The biggest maintenance job is generally on the trains, but they schedule those to have maintenance completed during school terms, so they can continue to operate it with one train. I’ve witnessed first hand how some of these checks occur and it’s certainly an impressive, thorough and effective process.
  18. Honest question here. How have Dreamworld been maintaining Steel Taipan if this is not the case in some regards? It's been open for a couple of years now and I don't think I've ever seen it down for months long maintenance. Are they doing more of it during the morning/arvo being they open and shut later?
  19. Early November shooting is only 3 months away. Surely we'll be seeing some construction soon if not already?
  20. Yeah Steel Taipan is the exact same in the maintenance bay - but dreamworld has what I presume is a carrier\frame to load the cars onto sat outside the station building. It's a wonder MW doesn't have this, and a wonder that MACK haven't had to solve this problem previously given how many of these cars are in use worldwide. As for 'you can't just uncouple one car' - bullshit. you totally could if you wanted to. Might have cost more \ required more heavy machinery to do it right, and probably needing manufacturer \ engineer sign off when the train was finally rebuilt - and ultimately the winch out method they went with would have been cheaper and easier to do, but you could have unbolted the running gear and craned the cars onto the back of a truck anytime you liked. Big difference between can't, and don't want to. Yeaahhhhhh I think you'll find in the context Brad was referring to - he meant the annual maintenance - the one period you didn't mention in your reply.
  21. I hadn't considered that, but it makes sense as that gate is where all the food trucks enter from. It's plausible they could have brought them in through other gates but it would have been more of a disruption to the park. so you're confident that they're providing the space free of charge in exchange for the value of marketing, but in the next sentence, admitting the marketing value is limited? Nah. Unless you've got a copy of the contract, I don't believe they're offering the land use up without payment. There may be quid pro quo arrangements, but they're putting a dollar value 'on the book' for land usage. Because that's how a business accounts for things in the real world. Nobody is lodging their tax return with only their net income reported. I still don't buy that DW is paying out for marketing here. I've already made some suggestions here - and Endemol aren't stupid. Neither are Dreamworld leadership Thats a good point - but with the low cost to entry for night market they'd get overrun... have to charge additional admission I would say. Careful, we don't want to get too technical with the math Yep seems to tie in quite well with the anticipated opening date for claw. though i'm sure previous BB seasons filmed during construction periods so i'm not sure that's the deal breaker it's made out to be.
  22. While I could understand if whitewatermountain and constrictor were somehow linked, i'm not sure i'd buy the aqualoop site being linked to constructor in any impactful way.
