  1. Past hour
  2. This corner of the park is closed at the moment due to the construction of the new attraction. I don’t necessarily think Constrictor needs to close for it and is likely just a cost saving exercise.
  3. On this, the markets weren’t on last weekend or next weekend while the pathway to Ocean Parade is blocked due to King Claw
  4. You've got rocks in your head if you think they're providing the space for free. Night market might have some issues with that. I don't really care for FNG and TBH i'd be more annoyed if they found yet another reason to push night market around. It's bad enough they do it for halloween. This is key. If they just do season 2001 the same way they did it back then, it's not going to be successful. But if they harness the modern tools they have available this thing could go off (and Endemol aren't that stupid). I was never a big BB fan - I watched occasionally but not religiously. I think getting stuff out on the stream platforms, or things like YouTube will propel this into the younger generations - so all those calling it this early are probably not allowing for things like this, and i'll reserve final judgment until the season is over.
  5. Today
  6. If Big Brother does this right, this is essentially just IRL Twitch. Edit: Some quick Twitch stats thanks to Google AI (so... very possibly wrong) 2.5 million people tune into the Twitch at any given moment Japan and Australia have a combined userbase of 4.1 million Twitch users, making up 1.6% of the platform In Australia, Twitch users are predominantly in the 18-34 age group, with 75% being male So if those details are anywhere near accurate, there is a big gap in the female "twitch" market. BB doesn't need to get an influencer onboard with the cast, but they likely will need them onboard talking about the show
  7. I doubt Dreamworld are providing anything for free and in fact the park is probably making decent money from this partnership and they’re getting a lot of advertising. If the Friday Night Games are indeed returning and occur within the park again, then it’s a way to show the country how good the park is looking and that people should return.
  8. Expanding upon my thoughts I posted previously in this topic, I do think the time has passed on Big Brother being some big National zeitgeist thing, especially with the ~youth~ I mean I'm an "old-head" (37) and I don't even watch TV anymore, only Youtube and Twitch streams (also anime but that doesn't count as TV). What chance does Dreamworld have in capturing that most important young demographic? Unless there's some very specific stunt casting, i.e. getting some younger influencers/content creators involved or even in the house - even if it's just as temporary intruders I agree that this show has little chance at being anywhere near as successful as it was. Even for someone like me who is pretty nostalgic about visiting the eviction stage, etc. I won't be watching OR visiting (of course I live in Melbourne now, but even if I did still live on the GC I don't think I'd care enough to watch or visit).
  9. Makes sense . This show will be a flop once again . Calling it now . it’s nostalgic but the time has come and gone for the format and what the park was at that time . I doubt dreamworld are spending here because it’s poor $ for limited advertising now . We are in new world of social media with bigger bang for buck where teenage market is . Just providing the space for free and electricity .
  10. Yesterday
  11. When I drove past Dreamworld the other day it looked like they had put new fencing in where the Monster Truck Show was, on the border outside Coomera State School. I wonder if perhaps they will put the house in that spot, then utilise the Exhibition Centre for live crosses?
  12. Big Brother is officially returning to its spiritual home, with a brand-new house set to rise from the ashes at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. In an exclusive reveal producers confirmed the 2025 reboot of the iconic reality juggernaut will be filmed at the very site that made the franchise a cultural phenomenon more than two decades ago. After months of speculation and calls from diehard fans for a nostalgic full-circle moment, production company Endemol Shine has locked in Dreamworld as the official location for the show’s revival — complete with a purpose-built house. “The demand for a reboot of the original format has been deafening, and we have listened,” SVP of Content at Paramount Australia Daniel Monaghan said, promising the reboot will honour the raw, unscripted spirit of the original series. “With a brand-new house built on familiar ground, this season will be centred on real people with real stories, talking in real-time.” Fronting the revival is The Cheap Seats star and Nova radio host Mel Tracina, who described the hosting gig as a “pinch-me moment”. “I’d love to be able to recall the exact moment I got the call but my brain stopped braining from excitement,” she said. “I was simultaneously trying not to squeal into the phone and pass out at the same time.” Tracina, who watched the show’s very first season as a teenager, said: “The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right. We’re excited to be home (and in a new house that hopefully comes with an air fryer).” “I was excited when Queensland was confirmed as the location because I knew fans of the show would be wrapped. Personally, I’m also happy because I’m a Melburnian who has Jon Snow’d through winter so I cannot wait to swap my MacPac for Havaianas.” Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong said: “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Big Brother back home to Dreamworld. This iconic show holds a special place in our story and in the hearts of millions of Australians.” Supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, the production will employ 95 local crew members and offer four paid attachment positions. Casting is now open at bigbrothercasting.com.au. The new season will air later this year on 10. https://www.couriermail.com.au/entertainment/big-brother-returns-to-dreamworld-on-the-gold-coast/news-story/385a067b4ef357c443176eae58a1980c
  13. Wild West Falls was scheduled to open Today but since Friday has been placed under Unplanned Maintenance with no end date. Hoping it still isn’t under maintenance for long.
  14. i’m leaning more towards it being about the resort they’re wanting to build, i think it’s too long to tease big brother.
  15. Yep I think it’s almost a guarantee, maybe they can’t announce yet until 10 Network does for obvious reasons. Spewing was hoping we got a Giga coaster…..
  16. Dreamworld just posted this and said they haven’t forgotten about the big announcement And maybe this is a coincidence, but Big Brother just posted this at the exact same time Considering DWs original posts about the big announcement had the same glitchy effect, I think it’s almost safe to say it’s this
  17. Last week
  18. Wasn't when I posted, but glad the website is live with dates now.
  19. Yeah the formal date calendar usually goes live when tickets do, but we've almost always known the dates prior to tickets going on sale - maybe this is just their idea of getting ahead of the supersleuths \ having literally 'something' to announce... Last year started with a casting call on 19 July which only revealed the dates of the event. The website was updated on 8 August, but the first pricing \ ticket sale post was august 14th. In 2023, dates were confirmed August 2nd - again from a casting call - with pricing available around then also. Tickets weren't available until a week later on August 9th... In 2022, they had a 'pre-announcement' with website updates around August 11th, and we had confirmation of dates on August 12th, with tickets not on sale until August 22nd.
  20. I think there’s been announcements in July before, but generally tickets have gone on sale alongside the date announcement.
  21. Website is live and has an interesting glitch when it loads. Is this the first year they officially announce dates this early and before tickets go on sale? Big win to us interstate visitors to book flights and accommodation earlier! 🙌
  22. IMHO, purely dates didn’t need a teaser announcement. Website isn’t even live yet/literally just dates.
  23. Agreed, tonight I’m just expecting date announcement and ticket sales and maybe a hint at the theme for this years event
  24. Just hoping for at least 3 new mazes considering we had no new mazes last year. I think the likelihood of not everything being announced tonight and gradually releasing mazes is high considering how they have done it previously.
  25. Just as likely it isn't an announcement at all and it's just the website going live, with a bunch of things locked out for later reveals.
