  1. A trench has be dug along the fencline around nearly the whole site for the electrical piping for the power to the lights on top of the posts. More fencing materials arrived More piles of soil around the site And in this shot I think it is pretty clear where the break run, station, maintenance bay, track to lift hill and the lift hill its self will be.

  2. What do you think they should spend the $15 on instead? EDIT: If you go to the effort of finding out how much it would cost at domestic prices (which I'll give you a tip, they don't pay), I'm going to delete the hell out of it because I don't care and neither does anyone else.

  3. All these ideas about how Dr. Who could work have successfully convinced me that Dr. Who is an awful idea.

  4. Thank you @themagician Your photos show a lot more going on than just powering the fence. The white conduit in the trench is a communication conduit and never used for power. The small orange conduit laying on top of the two large conduits in the trench is the conduit for the fence. One of the large orange conduits might be for the fence too but not both.

  7. Sorry the Queen was too busy getting her photo taken to ride.

  8. Agreed, I'd much prefer a simple hypercoaster that does exactly what hypercoasters are meant to do than pushing the boundaries with spinning trains. They could make the ride potentially nauseating, and I am planning to ride this coaster a lot of times

  11. Not Orcas like the U.S. have had but false killer whales. Not much bigger than a dolphin. I remember Squirt in the 80's. Part of the show was to grab a kids hat have Squirt launch it into the air from his blow hole. They would also grab a kid from the crowd and sit them on Squirts back. My sister got to do this. This old commercial shows a false killer whale right towards the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bh8a2Krxx4

  12. Nah, not Orcas. False Killer Whales are different, about the size of a dolphin and grey in colour: Our Sea World did actually have one, I can confirm that first hand as I have old photos I took myself somewhere of him (Squirt) performing alongside the dolphins there in their 'Friends of the Sea' show which used to be held in the Sea Lion auditorium. I'll have to see if I can find them and post! They also used him as their park mascot for a while, as part of their advertising campaign and he appeared on a lot of their merchandise back in the late 80's, early 90's. That said, as I mentioned earlier, he was the only one I ever knew of or saw there. No idea about any of the others.

  15. If you could write "@Slick" on your palm with today's date with the Wipeout working in the background, that'd be super. Seriously though, good to see it going again.

  16. All this is Bullshit really. Sadly it only takes a few people with loud voices and everyone listens, regardless of credentials or actual experience. The most important thing to take away from the photo posted by Sky Ads is not about the dolphin tanks, but rather why is there a monorail in Camouflage sitting behind the pools?

  17. No newspaper @Slick but does the Cherri picker working on hot wheels suffice?

  18. Why is there a random empty enclosed room after the toll booth, and why does the track pass through a narrow gap at its corner? Thats a big open space with a spaceship, crushed cars, light posts etc.

  19. Ummm.....ok? ......Ben, beyond the Sea World line of facts, is there any independent or peer reviewed data about the bottlenose dolphins in captivity at either Sea World or abroad in any dolphinarium?

  20. What's strange is it's going down for maintenance on Monday. For as long as I can remember the Wipeout has gone down at the end of the year. It has to be close to 4 weeks since the last ride came online and if this was the last one why haven't they already striped it down? Every time I've been to DW this year I have seen engineers working on it. The question needs to be asked was the ride in that bad of a state?

  21. No need to take what I said personally, it wasn't an attack on you. I, like many others, who regularly have to sift through a torrential sea of "fake news" found online, generally hold a healthy level of skepticism when things don't add up, don't have proof or don't have citations. Your post just so happens to tick all three boxes, just FYI. Always happy to be proven wrong, of course. I'd imagine re-opening the last of their thrill rides would be a big deal, and communicating that all of their rides have now met safety standards would be at the top of their list in terms of communicating a sense of moving forward to guests. Again, historically, the second a ride re-opened, even if it was part way through the day, they didn't hesitate to communicate, and I'd imagine this situation would be no different, regardless of annual maintenance.

  22. If you're there, would you mind terribly sharing some shots of the ride running with today's newspaper in your hand? I'm joking of course, however the park hasn't shared anything on social nor does their website reflect the re-opening, and every single major attraction re-opening has been a big deal for them, which makes what you're saying very doubtful. Adding to this, checking Dreamworld's & Wipeout's geotags/analytics on social shows a whole lot of nothing, when historically guests have clamoured to be the first to share & ride re-opened rides.
