To be fair I think they executed Trolls Village well. For a “temporary attraction” it’s themed, staffed, designed well and delivers on exactly what it should be. I know it’s location isn’t great, but I think it’s a fantastic addition for that demographic/market and wouldn’t be out of place becoming permanent.3 points

More or less when I compare DW to other Theme Parks in the world, DW has nothing exciting. Flight simulators are great attractions and I have never heard somebody getting off one saying “I didn’t like that”. If Brogent Technologies make a solid flight simulator than this ride will be the number 1 ride at DW by a long shot. In my book of theories and workings of the world I-Ride has the potential to get into the top 5 of Australian attractions. One problem for DW will be the ability to sell it to the public. If I was DW I wouldn’t sell it as a simulator because when I think of past simulators in Australia, I think of bumpy sweat boxes.2 points

I definitely think that the refurb of Tiger Island proved they have the facilities, knowledge and skills to design and build a world class attraction. I definitely think it is one of the best animal exhibits I've ever seen, especially for tigers. The left extensions aren't that great, but the main island, seating area and shop are awesome. And for Tailspin, a very simple ride, but I definitely think it was very well executed2 points

It'll be updated shortly - a few weeks back I had a super deep dive on figuring out exactly what was what, which was later corroborated by several former engineers who helped build the park and move Hollywood House itself. Basically I had spent an afternoon with John not too long ago sifting through Apple Maps and photos I had taken inside the park and we were able to work out that the Big Brother Cafe was indeed Hollywood House (it was taken off its stumps, moved and duplicated to become a restaurant) and the house that was eaten by termites was another house owned by one of the brothers of Mr. Day (the original land-owner) located near where the Coomera Motor Inn is today.2 points

Just wanted to thank everyone for their assistance. I went to the park today and had no issues with the test seat or on ride. Superman escape I had a good 10 cm clear of the line so was worried about nothing. Man rivals is an awesome coaster! Interestingly as others have said it seems like staff are on the ball as while I was waiting in line I saw on a few occasions that they nicely explained to some people that were quite a bit bigger than me that the harness design may not fit them.1 point

I went today. Park seemed very quiet. Only waited 10 mins for both Rivals and Superman escape. WWF was zero line, and justice league was under 10 mins.1 point

The reason why it is fenced off is to prevent the cigarette smoke from damaging the historic buildings which Dreamworld want's to preserve.1 point

Very sad times @Roachiewhen instead of getting excited for a new attraction we are all apprehensive on what DW will deliver.1 point

That's pretty much where my head's at - i'm all for change & I think the golden rule for any kind of change is that whatever comes next should be way better than what came before it. As an example - Gremlins at Movie World was great, but Scooby Doo is way better. The opposite could be said for the Looney Tunes River Ride and its replacement, Junior Driving School, which is the equivalent of replacing the Sea World Resort with the Coomera Motor Inn. So in that regard, i'm all for the Flying Theatre itself - I reckon it'll make for an excellent addition to the park - if done correctly, it aligns with John Longhurst's original vision of attraction development where he would take something great overseas (like Soarin' in this case) and replicate it the best he could for our smaller market. Basically, my thought process is in regards to the facades and heritage is this - if a company's going to knock down Disney-inspired facades on a whim I don't know if they have what it takes to put something better up, especially when their attention to care and detail post incident hasn't at all met the bar (think tin shed cage at the end of Tiger Island, Peter Brock's Garage signs left up a month after closure, maroon tin everywhere etc. etc.). And what's staggering is that for a park that desperately needs all the positive support it can get, Dreamworld's defaulting to the outdated marketing model of "ohhhh it's a secret something's coming sooon ooohhh ahhhh" instead of pre-emptively enrolling brand loyalists (us) and getting them enrolled into the future of the park. Research has shown that guests staying a hotel who had a problem during their stay and then had excellent, prompt & transparent service in fixing the problem would rate that hotel higher than guests who had no problem to begin with. Post incident, that's where Dreamworld need to be right now, particularly at a time when they're ripping down iconic parts of the park and the trust is very, very weak with both the public and folks like us.1 point

I like the idea of a grand theatre/cinema theme. I would like a preshow that ran from the birth of cinema all the way up to I-Ride. A bit of a history lesson but portrayed in a fun way. Who wouldn’t want to watch Charlie Chaplin clips while they waited?😊1 point

I see both sides. Part of me thinks one of the best things Dreamworld has is their Disney-esque architecture. It's certainly not a decades old Waikiki super flip or ToT. I'd like them to try and hold onto something connecting them to their heritage, but at the same time, not at the expense of progress. For example - on the ground that now sits Space Mountain in Disneyland, there was once a hover-bumper car attraction. This attraction was revived for Cars land circa 2013, but has already been removed due to capacity, reliability and experience. If we held onto that Tomorrowland attraction simply because it was the first in that space (Disney historians, I know it wasn't THE first attraction on that spot, but prior to that was the circus I think, and that isn't really tomorrowlandish - if I'm wrong, meh, I'm going from memory). The point is that not everything does need to be held on to just for history's sake. Wherever possible the park should be sensitive to its history, and honour that where they can (so, for example, the new exit doors through the Emporium are just ridiculous), but in terms of the I-ride, whilst it suited the 'cinema' style of attraction very well, and fitted on the previous 'main street' - that 'main street' is slowly disappearing, so to keep just that one building in original condition would then look very out of place. Further - we have no idea what the ride theme is yet. Although unlikely it could take on the 'Soarin' look of an airport \ runway \ hangar façade - for which of course an old school southern colonial style building would look completely out of place. Likewise - would we have cried foul if they'd left Wayne Manor when they installed JL3D ? Ok - it has a tenuous connection, but then they'd need the story to get you from the manor, through the batcave and into the JL part of the attraction, and the Hall of Justice (if not somewhat skewed) is much more suited to the attraction. If it were presented as a 'theatre' or 'cinema' and then once you got in it was transformed into flight, sure, but I find that a hard theme to flesh out in my head. Although it's a shame to see it go, especially with the Disney versions above so clearly resembling it, at the end of the day, history shouldn't stand in the way of progress (which is why ToT should be unceremoniously ripped out too)1 point

Finally have an answer on what the COO of Village Roadshow has been hyping. It seems that there will be a staircase climb to the top of the DC Rivals. This was taken from an audition site which the park regularly goes to, to get actors for their TVC.1 point

Answer is: Busy-ish. 3x rivals, 2x Arkham, 1x superman in three hours. Though with superman I skipped 60% of the 45 minute queue (I was near the pillars) when they called out "single rider" and I was the only one. Main car park full at 1pm, with 30% of the gravel area near Rivals parked on.1 point

For someone who tries so hard to show everyone how correct he is, you really relish in being utterly wrong, don't you? Although Dreamworld lists the area on the map as one precinct, the park map shows BOTH ABC Kids World AND Wiggles World - including both logos in the directory and superimposed on the park map itself. I do hope one of these days you actually fact check your mouth occasionally before opening it... but you probably won't.1 point

Why don't they just hire a couple of vapers to sit up there and blow smoke? Pay them in fidget spinners and you've got endless smoke effects1 point
