Was at MW just today and gave JL a go. Not much from what I could tell was broken as far as the effects were concerned.. Now, given, I've ridden it just three times since it opened, but everything seemed to be working. But I question: At what point does the ride become technologically obsolete? The ride technology is already becoming outdated despite being not even 8 years old. It has aged quite poorly. The animatronics are laughably archaic when compared to what is being built now. The guns have difficulty in registering targets (especially the physical theming targets), and the ride plot is dull. In ten years time, there will be discussion on this ride being replaced or reworked. A theming/effects overhaul, a fix up of the guns and targeting system, a new ride film and a re-worked plot to include villains that aren't tucked away in obscurity, whilst keeping the existing core ride system would be the best solution. I get it, this is one of the earliest shooting dark rides. But this attraction barely gets a line compared to the other rides in its area. Today, even, it had easily the shortest line in the DC corner of the park. In its current state, it feels like a filler attraction, something you do on a hot day to take advantage of the air conditioned building. It may be only 8 years old, but I hold great scepticism for its future as this ride is aging very poorly as of right now. Before MW thinks about replacing AA, this is definitely one of the big priorities for the park right now. Combined with the desperately needed update to the worn out, tired WB Kids' Zone, MW need to up their appeal with families. They already have what I'd consider to be the most elite thrill ride collection in the country by far, especially as of right now, so I'd think it's time to get the family rides in order, something which has been behind their competition for far too long.3 points

I’ve been trialing out the app very recently and I must say it’s been blast with the app, huge shoutout goes to the virtual queuing aspect of the app which truly works wonders (only trialed out MW, not SW or WNW yet) Virtual Queuing will definitely come in handy for you guys in the next few weeks, and yes it is free for everyone to use Jordan has done a good job explaining of how it works, but most of the rides on the virtual queuing will range a 20-35 min wait with me having to wait 40 mins the longest which was Superman from last week You will show your QR Code which becomes available when your time to ride is up and you get admitted into the Fast Track queue line FYI - Superman, you show the phone to the attendant, they will scan it off your phone and then you will be given the chance to put your stuff away at a locker or a non rider and they will give you pass that will say ‘Virtual Queuing’ Wait Times will be displayed only when you are in the park which I found has been very useful Mobile Ordering is not a feature not yet enabled on the build of the app and might be coming in a future update but today is the first sight of this coming to the app Overall, it’s a great app and you all should definitely download it 👍🏼2 points

On the 17th of December, Grand Gorge Falls & Koala Kove were approved by Kiama Municipal Council: Back on the 9th of July, Jamberoo's General Manager, Matt George told The Illawarra Mercury that he hoped construction on the new Grand Gorge Falls and Koala Kove would begin as soon as possible for completion by summer of 2020/21, "but there's nothing set in concrete as of yet". But we guess it is highly likely that the Splash Out area will close permanently on Sunday 26 April 2020 & Grand Gorge Falls and Koala Kove's tentative opening date would be by Sunday 1 December 2020.2 points

Had a ride this afternoon, effects all worked in the lower part and the timing was correct 😱 the new lighting is a very welcome addition! Also had my first ride on WWF in a couple of years... the less said about that theming the better. 2/10 would be generous...2 points

Disney opened Buzz Lightyear in 1998 and that rides technology is way above JLs which came 14 years later. Not expecting rides to that standard, because Disney, but still1 point

One at a time Once you have finished one ride, you can book in another Think of FastPass at Disney1 point

Ideally youd probably like to project the image from behind your subjects so you dont see the light from the projector, but thats not really possible here when the car would get in the way.1 point

I love that they also painted the ground and painted the darker blue splash to match the rides logo1 point

So headed down this afternoon at 4 as I figured the morning would be busy. Smart play as we didn’t wait more than 5mins for anything. We did 5 or the 6 (slides 2 and 3 are identical speed slides so no point riding twice). For those curious on queuing... the slide level is set up with numbers on the floor (think Sky Voyager). left hand side of stairs is slides 1-3 right hand is 4-6. 3 people for each slide (so total 18) are up the top at once whilst the rest of the queue line is down the stairs. Everyone is weighed as they get to the top of the stairs (Max 120kg). A light system tells you when to go (as well as the operator). All 6 slides go at once, and then generally slides 2-3 will have another cycle on their own before all 6 go again - as being speed slides the cycle is obviously fast. On to the slides (in the order I did them). 6 - first half is enclosed with some decent lighting effects and then open. Good slide 5 - fully open slide and appeared to be a little slow until more than halfway thru. I was wearing a singlet though which was slowing me down so I ended up sitting up to limit the traction. Needless to say singlet off after this one. 4 - is pitch black for the large part with a few sections of lighting 2/3 - great little speed slides 1 - good slide but found it a real punish on my back on each segment joint. Ended up sitting up as it was literally bordering on painful. All in all though it’s another positive for WWW for me and another nail in WnW. It makes WWW a far more complete park.1 point

No because the water is only coming out of the top of the slides, there’s no other water pumping vents throughout the slide so no matter the pressure the water is released at, it is going to have no affect. Also, when you sit up you will go slower than when you lie down. Especially when you don’t weigh much. The whole slide complex is aimed at everyone, there are thrill slides that do get high speed, but other slides will go slower for children e.t.c.1 point

Is it because the People are sitting upright and/or wearing rashies that slow them down? Physical weight also plays a role.. Question what is the upper weight limit? Shame, it does look a bit like a kiddie ride? Harking back to my WnW speed slide stunt riding days, try laying down, arms crossed under neck, arch your back so basically your heels and shoulders are contacting the greatest amount with as little drag from your arse as possible. If that doesn't work I got nothing!1 point

Update for Luna Park Melbourne- they have just installed a new permanent ride in time for the Summer school holidays. They have installed a Skyflyer called Supernova. For the young ones they also have a new attraction called the Happy Swing. Both attractions should prove popular with their respective target audiences and are great additions to Luna Park's lineup. Its great to see that LPM are committed to refreshing their ride line up after a decade of stagnation. Now if we could just get installed that 2nd coaster, things would really be looking up......1 point
