  1. Looks awfully close for a zoom.... not to mention the hand in the photo

  2. I agree I actually like the look of Vortex. What they've done is different but it certainly fits with the overall themeing of SeaWorld. Sure the artists conceptions for the new Atlantis precinct were very immersive and contained a lot of themeing that may never happen but at the end of the day so long as there is something then i'll be happy.

  4. I would be planting 3 lovely big trees (one family member’s family reportedly don’t want a memorial) down the back in Corroboree and having a plaque saying “these trees dedicated to xyz). That’s literally it. I would not mention the accident or the deaths of why. That way there is something for the families to visit if they so desire. I’d keep it as far away from the accident site as possible. Firstly for the same reason, the family probably do not want to go back to that spot. Secondly you don’t want a big “death happened here” reminded, regardless of if it’s a big or small plaque, etc. I think the memorial should be as subtle and discreet as possible. It’s about about acknowledging the people for the family of the family so wants so. Anything more prominent or public starts to enter the world of being for the park, and almost using the deaths as goodwill by implying “look how great we are, we care, here’s a plaque.” I think subtlety is key. I’d also say don’t put it in a prominent area that is likely to see development because if you have to move it, that will just cause more outrage.

  7. A couple years back there was a proposal to build a waterpark in Darwin. Apperently the government scrapped it but why? You would think that it would generate a lot of revenue for the state since it's so hot up there.

  8. Yeah, nah - definitely taken on-site. But also, IDGAF, no need for a witch-hunt fellas - everyone's favourite exec doesn't work here anymore so need to dob anyone in and ruin careers just to curry favour with management. 😉

  9. Yeah - fountain of improbability doesn't cover this though - we need a new 'smells fishy' react...

  10. I'll tell you right now - that image was not taken from far away. It was taken up close. If it really was zoomed in, the background would be blurred, and the image certainly wouldn't be this sharp (unless it was taken with a very expensive camera lens).

  12. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Safari_World African Safari World in Victoria looked like it was going to be decent. Similar to a Busch Gardens style park. It was a shame that the Government shut it down.

  15. I agree with everything you said here except that that area is on the busiest street in the park. I'm sure the chain can be spaced suitably back from the more delicate elements of the garden. I can assure you if I saw anyone defacing or otherwise damaging the garden, they'd find themselves headfirst into the nearest garbage bin.
