  1. Extended trade till 8, yet people still have a piss and a moan. Far out. It's summer holidays, you know what this event needs to be? Park is open till 8. Perfect! Parade at the end is just a themed bonus. I mean 7 is too early for lasers to work in summer, but who cares? This is exactly what has been needed for a long time, and bloody good on them for doing it rather than kicking thousands of people out at the stroke of 5pm

  2. But do events such as White Christmas need to change years from years? The target market is families with young kids. (For WC) Once these kids grow up they move onto evens such as fright nights. Then new kids come along and take over and the cycle repeats.

  3. I’m happy with extended trade until 8PM for the peak period regardless of the DC event. Suprised they have announced it without the usual details of up charges and shows. Wonder if we will have a new character (or updated design) debut as has been the case for the previous events.

  4. Lolwut, it's not sad at all. The current crop "DC Rivals" style coasters seen at more and more parks are way better than the one time record breakers. Superman Escape from Krypton is not better than Tatsu or Twisted Collossus. Steel Curtain is better than Phantoms Revenge Steel Vengeance is better than Top Thrill Dragter or Milllennium Force. Takabisha is better than Fujiyama. Dreamworlds new coaster will be better than TOT (Having ridden Blue Fire) The problem I find is so much cost goes into creating the record breaking aspect that the rest of the ride suffers.

  5. Drove past Aussie World yesterday, there was a crane on-site and the coaster was looking near complete from what I could see.

  6. This is so old we talked about it back when I was on PCL. These have been approved and just chilling since TRR put the whole industry on a halt.

  7. VRTP have announced on their website that the DC Superheroes and Supervillains event will be running from December 27th 2020 to January 16th 2021.

  8. Whilst these would be great, I can’t see it happening. A stunt show would take too much planning and rehearsal time for a two week event. Also, VRTP don’t create their 4D films so they wouldn’t be able to show a film specific to the event. Most of their 4D films have been shorter versions of feature films such as Journey, Rio, Yogi Bear The closest thing they could show is Man of Steel the 4D experience but it might a little too frightening for younger audiences.

  9. I can’t really speak for WC because I only really go to ride the attractions. I don’t partake in any of the festive activities. But as for Heroes and Villains, the first year had great feedback. It seemed to have a Batman Returns theme (kinda), the second year they focused more on the New 52 universe. They brought out a new design to the new Batman, Robin and Joker characters. They also had the costume competition and an amazing parade. Third year, they introduced a new design to the Harley Quinn character, a new parade followed by the Jokers funhouse party with themed food outlets. They have definitely changed it up over the last few years.

  10. It’s an annual event that is EXTREMELY popular and being in summer this time around rather than winter will make those extended trading hours even more attractive for locals and interstate visitors. You don’t even know what they have planned and are already bitching & moaning... seriously.

  11. It was a lot of fun! Was my first ride at Oktoberfest last year. The family also owns the 80m Funtime drop tower - Hangover! The lift actually had some force to it and it was a nice addition to the coaster!

  12. It's an updated Reverchon Spinning Coaster, see HEIDI at Oktoberfest for layout changes. Not sure if it will have the launch hill, but it was very fun to ride! and the banked curve was a lot of fun too... Shame its going to be called THE RAT...

  13. If you look at the pics above the rack is sitting on jacks and the supports aren’t connected to the ground properly. This ain’t just a paint job but some major structural work.

  15. Disney and Universal do this sort of thing. So I think it’s a good idea

  17. What exactly were you expecting? An Arkham Asylum maze? (which has already happened). A Dark Knight Stunt Show? Technically speaking, DC Superheroes and Supervillains isn’t really a special event (compared to WC & FN). They’re offering extended hours and you don’t need to purchase a seperate ticket to attend. It just sounds like you’re not really appreciating the work that goes into these events.

  18. I guess it’s easy for the parks in Aus to get away with doing the bare minimum, because there’s hardly any competition.. but this event has been running for like 4 years now? They really need to breathe some life into the event, come up with something new and exciting. Maybe i’m the odd one out, but it’s just very underwhelming now.
