  1. I'm gonna throw if out there - anyone reckon it's time MW updated its entry sign as you drive in? i know it's been there forever, but I reckon especially with the new coaster going in along the entrance driveway they could go out and get a nice shiny new one, maybe with some LT/DC characters on it. Use the same styled pillars that are going in, a 3D element as opposed to just a plain printed thing you could order these days off Vistaprint. Couple of design ideas i Wouldn't mind seeing...

  3. It's not a good time for people with pre-existing back/neck issues to go on slides that clearly state people with such issues shouldn't ride...

  5. Wet’n’Wild issued a statement shortly after the incident, confirming the teenage girl had complained of pain in her neck at the completion of the ride. “Lifeguards and the on-site nurse provided first aid,” the statement read. “The guest advised lifeguards of a pre-existing condition and she was transported to hospital as a matter of precaution.” “The safety and wellbeing of guests is the highest priority at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast. “The park has a highly trained emergency response team and works closely with emergency services.” Witnesses told myGC the Aqua Loop slide was closed for around an hour. It has since reopened. Just like POP is always going to be a dick every time somebody sneezes at a theme park we will know about it.

  14. New fence is now going up between the coaster and the road. Sorry no pictures was rushing past but if you think "similar to GL" fence you get the idea.

  17. There was a redic amount of snow this year, particularly in the parade. I should know, every single time they "made it rain" I had to cover the front of my gear. Here's the proof: (fair warning, totally sappy Christmas video that involves listening to an enthusiast mumble on about the holidays)

  18. There is a growing trend towards mega-threads relating to parks which we want to address to try and curb. Threads should wherever possible be devoted to a single project/topic/debate/discussion. All-encompassing threads like "<Theme Park Name> Updates" really become unmanageable after a while. Ideally we'll like to see the current crop of these threads slowly become replaced. Though it's a fairly easy way to share thoughts, content or information, they're really not a useful way to function long-term and makes it really hard for anyone who doesn't follow the forums on a regular basis, which is the vast majority of the Parkz audience. Threads will always veer off-course from time to time. This is fine. If it veers too much off the original topic we'll split it off into its own thread. As a really simple set of guidelines: Don't be afraid to start a new topic. Don't chastise others for starting a new topic... if it's a duplicate just let us know. If it hasn't been talked about before and isn't related to what's already being discussed it should be in its own topic, even if it's a fairly minor thing. Tag the new topic with the park's name and anything else relevant, which gives great sorting/filtering abilities. If it's really minor, or just a funny observation or side comment then sure, post it in an existing topic relating to that park/ride/etc. Else the Chit Chat forum is the place for unrelated ‘nonsense’. Don't start an open-ended or vague topic like "<Theme Park Name> Updates". When construction ends on a project, and you wish to share a review, thoughts etc., start a new topic for this purpose. At the end of the day, even if it's a somewhat boring topic ("Sea World replacing a foot bridge!"), it makes more sense to have it off in a thread of its own that only gets a few posts, rather than mixed in with half a dozen other concurrent topics in one mega-thread.

  20. It's been a while guys, schoolies got the better of me. About the theming of the coaster, i highly doubt they would name/theme the new coaster towards wonder woman. Im not sexiest or anything (maybe a little ?), but it would just seem a little weird IMO if the biggest and fastest ride at the park is themed towards a female superhero. I mean i wouldn't have an issue if it was themed towards her, but i just dont see it happening. She would suit a family coaster but not Australia's first hyper.
