  1. So putting it out there for everyone. There will be a clean up to this thread coming soon, anything not related to the actual construction or just dumb made up speculation about dates etc is going to be removed. If you want to talk rubbish about "my fridge says this date" or erections or anything else not actually relevant to the construction please take it to chit chat. That means that there might be days without posts until track arrives or an announcement is made and here at parkz we are totally ok with that.

  2. Why are we all saying there's delays? Where was this confirmed or is it all just based on opinions with no valid fact behind it? Did it occur to anyone that this is all going exactly to the schedule that the park, you know, those people who are actually working on the project, might have planned for it? The park doesn't run to a schedule made up by a bunch of people on a forum.

  4. Seriously how can anyone not be happy with this lineup?? Its almost unprecedented that a park in Australia has plans for 2 replacement attractions and then for a further 5 more NEW attractions. I this that this is brilliant although of course there are no time frames attached to these installations. The additions will certainly make Aussie World an excellent destination and a worthwhile attraction to visit. If the Sunshine Coast gets the proposed water park actually built, then it will certainly be a attractive proposition for families and tourists, coupled with the natural attractions that the Sunshine Coast has to offer plus Australia Zoo in the near vicinity. Yep @AlexB that is certainly Hair Raiser from LPS, @joz perhaps they have sold some surplus land somewhere? Just a thought.... Is it just me or does this pic hint of even further attractions to come? Aussie World currently does not have a Go Kart or is this a separate entity behind the existing park? Also what does the transport track The Luge refer to? A toboggan ride?

  6. What's the bet this ends up being something stupid. My new prediction is- Next week @themagician will post a picture captioned. “The trees in front of JL are getting a haircut”

  7. I'd have to throw to @YLFATEEKS for underground cable locations, but given it's position on the opposite side of the ditch i'm inclined to say GL's power isn't supplied from 'inside the berm'... whereas the new coaster's main power needs will be almost opposite the JL building, and by extension - it's fair to assume when Batwing went it, it was hitched onto the same supply as JL. This, in my mind, makes sense as to why both JL and BW go down, but GL stays up. I have no factual basis, but it is a logical conclusion.

  8. For those that can't get past a paywall, the article is dated January 26th, and says: Edit: AUSTLII search hasn't revealed any decision published as yet http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/cases/nsw/NSWLEC/2017/ Most recent case published (yesterday) had it's hearing on 1 February (which was for the construction of a carport - so fairly simplistic matter) - so i'd expect that the outcome of the above issue with LPS may take a little while longer to resolve.

  9. Well my prediction the whole time has been the announcement would be at a similar time as the announcement for the villains area was. So it should be next week based off that.

  10. It could also have something to do with them rerouting power to the new coaster.

  11. An entertaining read http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/property/luna-park-operator-multiplex-in-court-over-blinding-lights/news-story/898715139da99bd75fbd3eb5e201b80c

  12. yes it does Rides these days are made to last ages, so should the theming. Just a pain for the park to retheme it, and for the guests as well - imagine if they had to go to the same level as Scooby again.

  13. Surprised no one brought this up with all the Doctor Who talk http://www.insidethemagic.net/2016/07/sherlock-holmes-doctor-who-london-paramount-bbc-theme-park-coming-to-kent-england/ To put in my two cents, as a massive Doctor Who fan both past & present (& future lol) I think there is merit to the idea of a Doctor Who themed park/area, however I fully concede that many people I know still consider it dorky and niche, which for a park like Dreamworld is probably the last thing they wan't. They want broad, dare I say, generic appeal, as is the way with many things on the Gold Coast. I lived on the Gold Coast for 21 years and I know that while there is some audience for this kind of thing, it would be looked down upon as 'geeky' and 'lame' by a large portion of the park going populous. There's a time and a place for Doctor Who and Dreamworld isn't it.

  14. Just going to add, I am 16 and I have heard the name Doctor Who, but have no idea what its about. Plus I asked lots of my friends my age and a lot of them are clue less. So I wouldn't say Doctor Who is something that everyone knows.

  15. I'd like to take a moment to thank these protesters. Thank you for purchasing a ticket and thereby supporting the park you claim to hate. I'm glad your money will go towards ensuring the continued safety and well-being of these Dolphins at Sea World.

  16. I'm a credit counter, and these are the rules I use: Rule ONE: Does it roll? The roller coaster must consist of a dry, elevated track on which "carriages" or "trains" roll. This, however, could make up only one portion of the ride - for example, Storm Coaster. Rule TWO: Does it coast? The roller coaster must be at least partially powered by gravity alone. It can have an initial launch, like Tower of Terror, but it cannot be fully powered for the duration, like Shockwave.

  18. The first line, I think, is to portray marketing taglines in the upcoming 'The Magic Can Be Yours Now' campaign. The second one did miss some commas but they did correctly say 'VRL' (not 'VTP') and like @Richard said, it quickly emphasises a key point in the presentation.
