  1. You are very uptight today @Rollercoaster_Lover. Is your dietary intake adequate because you know what they say? Man who eats metal paper fastenings has a staple diet.

  2. I say to you Alex the "B" man what makes an enthusiast? My top 5 are - 1. You know you're a coaster enthusiast when you visit this website everyday. 2. You know you're a coaster enthusiast when you drive over a dip or rise in the road and rate the airtime. 3. You know you're a coaster enthusiast when you think having your lap bar 10cm above your waist is "Fun." 4. You know you're a coaster enthusiast when the word "Woody" has no sexual connotations whatsoever! 5. You know you're a coaster enthusiast when you're particular on where you sit on a roller coaster.

  3. @Santa07 I have seen it within other enthusiast communities too "but" it is also very common to get the same response from enthusiast when somebody says it. The problem is when Richard said it it made sense and nobody questioned it. Nobody ever understands what @Rollercoaster_Loveris saying.

  4. STAPLED is a common word used in the theme park industry to describe a harness being pushed down and locking into place with excessive force on the human body. STAPLED is a word which should be understood by all theme park enthusiasts in order to be declared legally as a theme park and/or coaster enthusiast.

  6. And as an enthusiast of mechanical devices (trains, rides, cars, bikes, boats) rather than a theme park enthusiast, I don't know of that application of the word. As didn't several other forum members who I'd consider to be enthusiasts based on their years of contributing to this forum. Rather than attempt to "look cool" by using jargon, perhaps they should work on their spelling and sentence construction. Being able to articulate yourself correctly is a good way to earn respect anywhere in life, rather than using an obscure term I (and others clearly) have never seen used on these forums.

  7. And clearly no one has any idea at all what you mean. As I say to my 6 yr old "use a different word so we might be able to work out what you mean".

  8. You cant make morale and happiness with money... its not about wages. The village parks used to have as much fun and social recreation behind the scenes as front of house back hen John Menzies ran the place. The staff would have industry deals at venues all over town. There would be catered (with alcohol) after hours parties for staff almost monthly, and un official organised gatherings in town even more frequently. Then there was the famous annual Warner Village ball which saw all staff (1000s) treated to a sit down formal dinner, unlimited drinks and festivities all night, and handing out of employee of the year awards. Many staff lived for this annual party which was renowned for being one of the best on the coast. All these things made the place more than just a workplace. When Tim Fisher came in, all that stopped, there is no such thing a ball or a Christmas Party anymore, any staff function is held on site and is about as exciting as you can imagine from say a Trivia Night with free Soft Drink! WOO With so many companies being all about employee benefits to retain good staff these days, it's safe to say Village are as behind in staff relations as Dreamworld are in strategic direction. It's people that make your business, end of story.

  11. @themeparkaddictYou will need to ask the only theme park enthusiast @Rollercoaster_Loverif it is a extended closure or not. Us general public have no idea what you are talking about.

  12. I do not for one minute think that Mickey D was nitpicking at all in regards to the behaviour and mannerisms of Movieworld's staff that he observed. Theme parks are a service industry. We expect and should get excellent customer service ACROSS all facets of the park. This includes all team members whether they are ride operators or ticket attendants. Imagine if we went to a Disney park and experienced this type of attitude and poor service. It would be a major talking point. We hold Disney as being the best that theme parks can offer ( and whilst I am certainly not holding Movieworld to a Disney standard) it is reasonable to expect a certain level of attentiveness , enthusiasm and professionalism from our own indigenous parks. Simple customer service should be the minimum to expect. I am sure that Mark Shaw, given his own unique perspectives on the industry, would agree on the importance of customer service and professionalism in your job at all times. Seriously a no brainer for mine.

  14. Fair shake of the sauce bottle, no crime was committed and I'm not blaming MickeyD. I didn't say it was he fault for any of the issues. He said "Next up DC Rivals. Wow what a Coaster. 99% probably wouldn't notice this but the wall on the Exit side of the Station is already weathered. Cheap job no doubt that will bite back in another season or two". I'm saying he noticed it because he was the 1% looking for it.
