  1. Well, flights aren't cheap remember. I've also seen a plaque that states Mack are also working on an indoor coaster replacement for Looney Toons...
  2. I am 100% certain Mack are involved, since they would have had to come out here to collect the Scenic Railway trains, might as well kill 2 birds with one stone.......
  3. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Sunshine Coast already have an amusement park, and many other very successful tourist attractions?
  4. Be careful what you wish for. MDMC was a southern hemisphere first, as was Buzzsaw, as was the long track designed shockwave. For Dreamworld at least, being Australian first hasn't exactly done them any favours....
  5. Been a while since I have been on here, but I thought some may enjoy this... .
  6. Or Jurassic Park, Dino-Land AUS, Pre-historic World. Does anyone know if this is a permanent exhibit, or a temp holiday attraction?
  7. I agree, keep Ricks a restaurant, there isn't a whole lot of space for something to be gracefully done that would fit in well with Main Street anyway. I would like to see the Buffet move out of Ricks though and into the Stars Cafe, and have Ricks gracefully turned into a proper sit down restaurant. Won't happen, but it is what i'd like to see occur.
  8. http://web.archive.org/web/20041029061523/http://www.geocities.com/doza35au/Seaworld_Railway.html The train, Bermuda and the Fire-filled Volcano, and the Corkscrew. Sigh. Those were the days.
  9. Wait, it's closed? Boo to you Sea World, I'm off to Dreamworld to ride Eureka instead........
  10. Good point. Mind you, it is most likely the case that they don't know the meaning of the term, and are just using the term "to be cool"..,
  11. Well, it does "Coast", it does have a Track, as well as a Chain Lift, Air-Time, and Water, so I don't see why not!
  12. Well I can tell you it ain't at Downunderland anymore.
  13. Make sure you say "You're welcome" Alex. Manners now...
  14. For another perspective, here's Tv Tonight's article. http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2012/01/big-brother-back-to-dreamworld.html
  15. I was thinking more along the lines of Logan myself....
  16. I just don't see why everyone is insisting on a Theme Park tie-in for this show. It isnt neccesary. The show can be quite easily done from a studio built in the middle of know-where. Sure, from a Park side it provides exposure, but when it gets controversial (as it inevitably will) your name is dragged through the mud with it.
  17. Hi Folks. I sure hope this isn't true, but leaving my personal feelings aside, attached is a report from MediaSpy, who are claiming that Big Brother is returning to Dreamworld when it returns to screens later this year. http://www.mediaspy.org/report/2012/01/08/nines-big-brother-returns-to-dreamworld/
  18. Nor do they have OSTR's..... I'll add my 2 cents worth, I actually like the Superman figure on the back of the trains. I see why downunder isn't a fan of it, but it isn't causing anyone harm. Talking theme wise though, if there is one thing that needs changing, it's the plaza area. I've always thought that area feels somewhat unfinished, and that some form of Central Park theme would work well for that area. While we are at it, why not chuck up some Metropolis building facades on the side of the show building, and finish it off with some Subway Entry style of signage pointing to the entry?
  19. I agree with Gogo. It's becoming too irrelevant to the topic in hand. Seriously folks, you need to get over it. Taking a look at that video of the ride testing (why is there 1 minute of nothing before the actual ride testing vision starts? Am I missing something?) The ride itself is looking great! The first thing I thought when I saw the trim on the drop was "if only that was a holding brake like Oblivion". (null)
  20. To be honest, I put down 9's "Two Playgrounds" to be journalism at its finest, with Stage 2 and 3 being referred to as these "Playgrounds". I wouldn't read too much into it. I also wouldn't expect any new rides, just a "Complete Retheme of the rides in those area's to capture the moments from those films" as Todd Coates put it.
  21. No Legoland option? I personally can see a Legoland style park working very well in the Australian market. Probably most suited to Melbourne or Sydney though. Of course we would all like to see a Disney or Universal here, but let's be realistic, of all the chain parks, it's Legoland that will be best suited, and most likely. No Legoland option? 22. Thanks for the new pics Ride_me! The ride is certainly looking great.
