  1. Didn't Dreamworld's enterprise get sold to Downunderland in Canberra? @Spotty
  2. @Theme Park Girl, the Midnight Express was imported in 2013 from England, I believe it's either a Reverchon or Sobema and the Flash Dance is a Reverchon Explorer. About the ride being sold, I haven't seen that particular ride in Australia or at any travelling shows, so my guess is that it's been sold overseas or has gone into hiding somewhere in Australia. Dreamworld honestly ran it like shit, probably one of the worst Matterhorn style rides I've been on. Though, I guess they wanted to gear it more towards the kids in years leading up to its removal.
  3. If we we're to see a coaster go into Luna Park, I'd love to see a Mack Big Dipper. It's pretty much Mack's version of a Eurofighter and seems to pack a punch judging by video's I've seen. You would be able to have a great custom layout where Tumblebug now resides and the name is already pretty much sorted! I would also love to see an HUSS Enterprise 2GH, it's a retake on the classic Enterprise and has suspended seating. I believe Luna Park also had an Enterprise in the 80's (please correct me if I'm wrong).
  4. ^ beat me to it, haha! Adding to that, it mentions that the first of these 6 rides will be the Flying Carousel, which I assume will be a Zamperla Flying Carousel and I believe will probably be built on the old Flying Saucer site or where the Ranger is now. Speaking of Ranger, has there been any news on it's return, or has Luna Park sold it?
  5. The easter show line up has just been posted, including some new rides. So, here we go. Coca Cola Carnival Alien Abduction Space Roller Crazy Spinning Coaster Pirates Revenge Psychodelic Motor Racing Simulator (NEW) Xtreme Magic Circus Rock 'n' Roll Sky Flyer Skymaster Wheel Slingshot Speed 2 Wave Swinger Crazy Cars Dodgem Cars Mayhem Manor - Escape of the Zombies Mega Drop No Limit XXXL 9D Cinema Freak Out Haunted Hotel Rock Star Zipper The Beast (NEW) Nitro Coaster (NEW) Breakdance Cliff Hanger Power Surge The Spook Avenger Kids Carnival Rockin' Tug Sea Circus Wave Swinger Adventure Island Family Log Flume Samba Balloons Carousel Cars 4 Kids Mini Chairs Kite Flyer Animal Kingdom Jungle Safari Super Slide Wacky Worm Family Coaster Jurassic Coaster Jumbo Flying Elephants (New?) Fantasy Cups Free Fall Outback Monster Trucks Other High Country Pony Rides Mini Railway Kyle & Jackie O's Haunted House Star of the Show Royal Double Decker Carousel Alpine Express Overall, a pretty good lineup. I think some rides will end up getting kicked off to make room for new rides. Interesting seeing Freak Out and The Beast there at the same time, although I have a hunch that Freak Out will get kicked off. Shame we didn't see Turbo there, oh well. Maybe TPA's have a little bit more work to do on it before debuting it to the public. Also, I'm pretty sure that the 'Nitro Coaster' is the Python Loop that chants bought, unless it's one that's been imported under the radar. With this new addition, we saw Taipan kicked off, which is a shame as it's been attending the Sydney Show for quite some time.
  6. I wasn't aware about the staffing issues on the log ride as I haven't been to the park in a while, my mistake.
  7. Interesting idea @pushbutton but I don't think we'll ever see it happen. Having that many VR goggles would cost heaps of money, and I'm sure the park would be looking for a return (i.e charging a small fee to use the goggles). You'd also have people who wouldn't want to pay the extra money, and would just be left with a dark wild mouse with no theming (which coincidentally, is what it is now ). I'd love to see VR added to SDSC, but with theming there also so people could enjoy the ride without the need for VR.
  8. I think something like this (circled in red) could be useful to the flume at Dreamworld. It's an attendants booth where they can see what's going on before the drop and could be used to stop anything like the incident back in April of last year. I'm sure it would be possible to build it into the existing structure/tunnel.
  9. Quick question, what was actually inside the cave in the river rapids? I remember vaguely a couple of animatronics. If the Vintage Cars are relocated, I'd love to see some additional theming. Nothing too major, maybe something rustic, like a rusted out Model T, small pond etc.
  10. Geez, that's very quite for a Saturday. It was very hot in Sydney on Saturday though, so I'm sure that visiting Luna Park wasn't on many people's agenda.
  11. Out of curiosity, where the Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Octopus the only rides at the pier?
  12. Wipeout take the cake for me. Wipeout just gives this crazy, out of control experience and whilst Claw gives nice airtime, It's a more relaxing experience.
  13. I don't have a problem with Carnival rides personally, It's just freak accidents that scare the public out and attract media attention. IMO, carnival rides are the safest, as they need to be checked every time they are pulled down and set back up again.
  14. I'll just do a top ten, since I haven't been on all of the coasters in Australia. 1. Superman 2. Arkham 3. ToT 2 4. Wild Mouse (LPS) 5. Green Lantern 6. Jet Rescue 7. Scooby Doo 8. Buzzsaw 9. HWSW (Cyclone when I rode it) 10. MDMC
  15. I stumbled across this video and thought it was worth a share. This is Super Turbo, one of the only operating Chance Turbo's in the world, and has just been refurbished by (I believe) TPA Shows. This unit is particularly special, as it can run forwards and backwards. Not sure if it's going to be travelling the show circuit or not, but it would be amazing to see. The video was posted on December 7.
  16. I didn't get to do a whole lot this year. The only real parks I went to Sydney Easter Show, Magic Mountain in Merimbula (which has a small Pinfari Zyklon) and finally LPS. 1. Wild Mouse (LPS) 2. Crazy Spinning Mouse (Easter show) 3. Diamond Python (Magic Mountain) 4. Taipan (Easter show) A pretty depressing list, hopefully I can check out the new coaster at Movie World next year.
  17. Wow, that looks odd. It looks like you'd get some weird forces at the bottom of that drop, has anyone been on it that could share their experience?
  18. I'd love to see a coaster like Dæmonen for Luna Park Sydney. It's a very tight layout, but I think a coaster like that would be able to fit in the Tumlebug area (where the previous Big Dipper was) and also out into the Maloney's Corner. However, the Tumblebug and (probably) Spider would need to be removed, but IMO, a coaster is way more impressive than 2 poorly run flat rides.
  19. Hi all, I've found a video that has a snippet of a Eureka POV. It also shows some footage of some old rides at Dreamworld and I thought it was worth a share. Park footage begins at 5:34 and Eureka POV begins at 18:06
  20. Thanks for that @AlexB, I was unsure about that, but it sounds like a neat feature.
  21. Also, Green Lantern is a cloned ride and I'm pretty sure that the angle of the drop isn't customisable. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
  22. IMO @Intimidator305., that just looks like an over-glorified Larson superloop.
  23. ^ tbh, a mine train could probably fit, however I think mine trains are a bit out of date and old fashioned. Dreamworld could find a much better replacement, something like a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or Mack Big Dipper I think would fit in the area/mountain really well.
  24. Has anyone thought about bum bags (or fanny packs)? On Tempesto at Busch Gardens, they hand out bum bags, in which you can store your loose articles and such. I don't know if it would be practical over here, but it seems to work in the US and IMO, it sure beats paying for a locker.
