Wow that's great thanks for that. Would be very much appreciated if you could post the 'Grundy's part 2' article when that comes out. Thanks!

The Grundy's Ghost Train was my favourite as a kid and scared the absolute shit out of me every time I rode! I used to love riding alone and right from the start with the sudden flash and scream to the mad scientist pulling the gizzards out of his patient.. Arguably Australia's best ever ghost train, shame DW never picked it up. . thanx for the memories

I agree it was the best ghost train ever. Would love to see some pics of it or get info on who the manufacturer was and whether there were any other similar models made around the world. I absolutely loved it as a kid and was the main reason I looked forward to visiting Surfers

^ Haha those pics definitely don't do the place justice. What a dodgy postcard. It was way better than that! A true indoor amusement park

I was thinking of this place the other day, I didn't remember the name, when I went there I was between the ages of 4 to 6. My teenage aunt would take me there once a month. I remember the alligator ride above, I think I have photo of me riding it. Thank you for the memories. :)

Yeah Grundys was a great place- in my mind certainly a little ahead of its time!! I think that if Grundy's was around today it would certainly be quite popular, especially given the number of tourists that visit the strip now compared to when it was in its hey day. It would be the perfect counterpart to the big GC themeparks and being in the dead centre of the GC on Cavil where all the action is centered , it would prove to be quite popular!! ( As is the Timezone which occupies part of its former site, and which is a pale imitation of its former self.)
