Movie World's Fright Night 2012

Looks like they are doing daily video logs on their new channel, and nothing will jump out in this video unlike last years stupid ones.

At park today, barriers covered in what looks like a blood bath from zombie attacks lines the path from Arkham to Sound Stage 2.

Heres some pics to the bottom of the page. http://thethemeparkplace.com/warner-bros-movie-world/warner-bros-movie-world-park-update/

A bit off topic here, but Wyncenuros, did you also find MovieWorld to be really crowded for a weekday not on school holidays? The line up for Superman and Arkham were both well over an hour.

Yeah we left not long after having lunch. Scooby Doo had the outside switchbacks full as well. As we left a lot of families were still entering as well. Queried a staff member I know and they said the attendance was at approx 8k at the time we left.

At the park today I was pleasantly surprised to find a decontamination team scanning people and handing out flyers with instructions on how to survive the 'walking dead' (as well as an advert for the series on FX) post-937-0-38986000-1348312933_thumb.jpg post-937-0-14888600-1348312948_thumb.jpg post-937-0-55693800-1348313038_thumb.jpg post-937-0-06990500-1348313128_thumb.jpg

I like how they are doing scanners as advertising throughout the day, having zombies around the park would traumatise and ruin lots of kids or anyone who doesn't like those things days. I know that they have done the whole zombie in the park day advertising before, I don't know if they are doing it again this year though.

I'm curious whether they bought them specifically for this purpose, or whether they had them on hand for other events... I can't really think of what other applications they would have for those little guys in the park - the beasts they have in the windows drains are far superior...

I had the same thoughts AlexB. I'd say they would have bought it for what its suppose to be for - they could be put inside small props etc.

Does anyone know how many people go into a maze at once? Like in a group?

Depends on the maze. I'd say 8-16 generally

So I just upgraded my wife and I's VIP passes to gold. Does anyone know how long it should take for the email to come through? Looking forward to fright nights this year. I didn't get a chance to go last year!

Usually within 5 minutes.

So hanging out for the major fog they use at Fright Nights, one of the most amazing parts of this event...

But I mean, are they the ones that make all the mazes, designs, marketing, planing? They decide what to do each year?which mazes? I recall sudden impact was involved in the first mazes, but do they still plan everything?

Sudden Impact were involved with the Saw and Nightmare on Elm Street mazes for the 2009 event but I am pretty sure everything else has been handled in-house.

When they get props for mazes do they keep them after? Like this year do you think they will reuse props from the Nightmare on Elm Street and Saw maze for the Film Vault maze?

After a great time at Movie World's Halloween the weekend before. It was time to cross the Pacific to theme park Nirvana, and get my haunt on. In summary, what did I do?
Sat October 17 : Travel Sydney to Los Angeles then onto Orlando / Fun Spot Orlando Sun Oct 18 : Busch Gardens Tampa and Howl O Scream Mon Oct 19 : Animal Kingdom / Disney Studios / Epcot / Magic Kingdom Tue Oct 20 : Sea World / Fun Spot Kissimmee / sleep Wed Oct 21 : Universal Orlando / Lights-on Maze Tours / Halloween Horror Nights Thu Oct 22 : Knott's Scary Farm Fri Oct 23 : Magic Mountain / Zombie Joe's Urban Death Tour (North Hollywood) Sat Oct 24 : Queen Mary Dark Harbor Sun Oct 25 : Knott's Scary Farm Mon Oct 26 : no parks / Australian Consulate Tue Oct 27 : Knott's Berry Farm Wed Oct 28 : Knott's Scary Farm Thu Oct 29 : Knott's Scary Farm Fri Oct 30 : Halloween Horror Nights - Hollywood Fri Oct 31 : watch rugby world cup final / Universal Citywalk / go home I was also going to Las Vegas and Frightdome and other haunts, but had to cancel and stay in LA because my Passport got severely damaged in Florida and I had to go to the Australian consulate in LA to get an emergency passport. Trust me folks, trying to get through the TSA at screening with just an Aussie issued driver's licence is not fun.
      To be continued...
