  1. Today
  2. To be fair, the Channel 7 news story was just reporting on the delusional Victorian MP that thinks Disney should build a park in Frankston. Their choice of soundbites from the locals set the tone from them. They can't have opinions in news reporting, so the best they can do is report on the MP and get the locals to say it's dumb.
  3. FINALLY SOMEONE OUTSIDE OF 'PARKZ' CALLS THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA OUT...
  4. I wouldn’t assume the video was filmed that recently and that SE is testing yet. This was my interpretation too
  5. Theming is being added to the temple structure. Looks like it's interior theming for the indoor scene Reverse view Also more track!
  6. maybe i interpreted it differently but for me, it seems like to enter the queue for the rides you need to go to the emerald city and then walk into the castle where you can choose from in there? So you will need to be in the plaza for the land to get onto the rides then you exit back into the Emerald City where you can walk back into the castle (Queue lines) and reselect what ride you want
  7. @rappa Zooming in on site plan the red line is the entrance/yellow brick road and it looks like the blue (former AA entrance) is the entry to this room mentioned in the video. Unless it’s an emergency exit?
  8. Nowhere in that video does it show anyone using a side door to skip anything. Nobody is skipping the theming and being spat out in the land after.
  9. Exactly. Which is why the main entrance to the land being by Superman is ridiculous. If they used the alley way you’d get to follow the full yellow brick road, get the wow factor and then head to the left and into the ride entrances
  10. What a ridiculous layout. So basically they keep the side door from arkham that skips half the queue, you walk in, do the pre show, line up for the coasters, ride, then get spat out at emerald city? You'd figure you want guests walking through that big rainbow entrance into your new $50 million land with the fancy building and decorated paths as a good first impression, rather than being spat out in it after you queue for an hour and ride. People design better land layouts in planet coaster You'd think they'd shut that side door but they might not even do that
  11. My favourite part of the video was seeing Superman testing in the background.
  12. The park has officially released some of the concept artworks we’ve seen before They also confirmed in this video that you’ll enter a room and decide with coaster you want to head to. Then you follow a path (that’ll be themed to set up the story for the coaster you’ve chosen). When you exit the coasters that will take you to the main plaza where the Emerald Castle will be. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/rggNR5vh6jwzmtho/?
  13. New promo posted on TikTok i’m assuming it’s also on Instagram & Facebook. v14044g50000cpha3f7og65nj50af6b0.mp4 Notice SE flying around in a clip.
  14. Tommy will need more than a few duffel bags of unmarked, non-sequential bills to impress the Mou$e.
  15. Can you stop making posts where all you say is "yawn"?
  16. Fuji Q is quicker by coach because its up in the mountains, and the bus goes via expressways, whereas the train winds all over the place, costs more and you have to change trains along the way. I got a bus from the Shinjuku Expressway Bus station Get the Q-Pack ticket which includes entry and the bus transfer. https://highway-buses.jp/ticket/q-pack.php I reserved through above link, and then picked up my tickets and paid for them the night before. Get the earliest coach you can on the way up. For the return trip, one shortly after closing is fine because they shut the queues well before park closing to clear them out! ************ For Nagashima, nearest station is Kuwana, you can bus or taxi from there. But I just got a driect bus from the Meitetsu bus station (next to the main station in Nagoya) https://www.sanco.co.jp/highway/naganagoya/root-1
  17. I'd heard a while back that a 2nd one was going to park somewhere in Mexico, so this would be it. It appears Vekoma make two styles of mine train track. The full sized ones are like Big Thunder in Paris, Choco Chip Creek etc. Wheels on the inside of the track. The other type is more like their junior coaster track, but with the spine set down a bit to allow fake wooden sleepers to be bolted on. Wheels on the outside of the track. The latter is what you can see has been delivered to Vidanta World.
  18. The only similarities they have with each other is, they are both made by Vekoma. The element on Jungle Rush worries me a bit because it could end up, a maintenance nightmare for DW.
  19. Interesting they’ve already sold 2 models before a single one has open, that’s a positive sign for the ride model ig. Also interesting to note the added ties on the on-site track of this variant, seemingly showing it’s going to use the ‘mine train’ wooden crossties seen in the concept video for, and previously assumed to be present on, Jungle Rush. Edit: Actually, is it certain this is the same model as Jungle Rush? All it’s noted as is a ‘Switch Back Mine Train’ in Vekoma’s delivery info, which sounds moreso like their modern actual Mine Train ride model, perhaps one with a segment similar to Expedition Everest, than a somewhat-Mine Train with JR’s inclined turntable. The only thing that points towards the turntable is a curved platform, but I don’t see anything about it that points specifically to a JR-esque turntable walkway moreso than a walkway adjacent to a turn into/out of the station.

  21. So, that maroon and grey/blue Switchback prototype seen at the Vekoma factory: Well, it was intended for Vidanta world in Mexico: Source https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/vidanta-world-mexico-theme-park.38448/page-2

  23. Looking back at it it seems interesting, what would've happened if it was built? I found some concept art while researching: Reportedly it would feature a CityWalk/Downtown Disney style area with restaurants and a 16-screen cinema as well as 6 working soundstages operated by Crawfords, which even had partners such as Channel 7 and Global Television signed on. The park would have attractions such as a Studio Tour as well as restaurants/attractions based on Star Trek, Happy Days, Top Gun and Nickelodeon. So more like Universal than the former Paramount Parks. I think it was funding that killed it, Viacom had a majority interest but some was to be funded by other partners such as WIN Television (who owned Crawfords), however the apart from Viacom/WIN the rest was private equity/banks. IIRC some of the plans got blocked causing some of the equity partners to drop out, cancelling it. Though I do wonder what our landscape would look like if it was built. We could be seeing a Cedar Fair park down here if it got sold like the ones in the US.
  24. It was a terrible idea, with even worse execution. Splash is a relatively intense ride (for a castle park) and this version doesn't have a villain or any tension (which is needed on a flume) - think of West as the local example and the voice lines it plays leading up to the final drop (when they're working). I'd imagine little kids would be scared shitless with that drop that comes after "Lets get you to the party". Prime example of mismatching the story with the ride layout. Just a case of a terrible IP match with the ride type, it looks like princess and the frog was shoehorned into the ride when the IP and story should be integrated ito the ride layout. The IP and the story they were trying to tell have been a much better fit for a ground-up gentle dark boat ride, I think Lilo and stitch would have been a much more suitable refit for Splash.
  25. Paramount tried building a park at docklands in the late 90s but was the victim of horrible timing and no one wanted to finance it. The land it was meant to go on was pretty small - don't think it would be enough for a castle park, and it's being used as railway facilities iirc
