  3. I reckon it’s a pre show of some description that takes place in that building (like the old lethal weapon one), before you exit and queue one of the 3 rides on offer. Oh by the way with the $50 million or whatever this project has been quoted at you’d figure there would be a bit more to it? Surely the coasters themselves wouldn’t cost too much given they are both off the shelf models. I suppose construction photos and actually walking through the land will be the judge in this case as CGI isn’t indicative of the final product. I’d be pretty underwhelmed if it wasn’t at the standard of Leviathan though given the budget.
  4. Comparing the original sketches to the ones seen on the ad: Oz Land: Inside: The Entrance: So yeah, quite a downgrade from the art. But I saw a post where the designer says he doesn’t place a budget on the art and the designers “probably hate him”. The same happened with Jungle Rush, remember the original art and what we are getting. B9A3BA7E-8737-477E-A058-F1086AA694C4.webp
  5. The whole area has a theming downgrade, from the original concept art... Looks like it's from Wish.com or Shien now with what was originally revealed and announced.... Let's see what comes with the finishing product.🙈
  6. Great promo, shame the castle doesn't look as good as initial concept art. But still well themed.
  7. Indicative of a terrible work culture. I've come across many a shitty customer service workplace in my time, including places like Bounce. Some figure out their culture, making you feel supported, valued and leave you with a desire to come back irrespective of the crap you have to deal with. Others stink and make you want to quit. Minimum wage hospitality/service is always going to have seasonal recruitment drives for casuals (school holidays etc). Thats common sense. If they cant open rides during Winter, which they have before, because of a lack of staff, thats more of an indictment on the state of their workplace culture then any lack of wage or amount of crap they cop from guests.
  8. The character schedule is something I put on every review when I go to movie world. I always go to guest services to see the schedule on arrival now but for quite some time my wife and I had no idea what times the characters were out. The locations on the sheet tend to be wrong anyway. As it says upper toons for some characters and they’re barely ever there. I hope for the Dorothy meet and greets in the future they’ll have it at the wizard of oz land. Most of the time when you have a photo with a character there’s not much theming besides Batman and Robin at the Batmobile. Sure you can see the justice league outside daily planet but that’s not too exciting. sea world has great character meet and greet opportunities on the stage with half decent theming.
  9. Agree. They've listed every possible thing as an attraction so the site can say "7 are closed but 14 are open!" but when you look closer, the 14 includes: HWSD HWSD paid upcharge experience Batmobile paid upcharge photo experience The 3:30 parade "meet and greets" Like, if they're going to list the star parade, let's go ahead and list the wonder woman show, the marilyn show, the 'shall we dance' show, the looney tunes dance party, and the Dorothy show? Then we can say that there are NINETEEN open! While i'm being picky, the 'full attraction list' on the website includes all of the above things, but also includes the WB Kids Fun Zone as a precinct, but it is the only precinct on the website, and also it is despite all the attractions INSIDE the WB Kids area being listed separately. And lastly while i'm being ultra pedantic, 'meet and greets' lists a bunch of (but not every) characters - from the 10 different DC Superhero\villain characters, 4 looney tunes characters, plus scooby, shaggy and marilyn. But there is no suggestion of where you might find them, or at what times they might appear. Apart from the missed opportunity of adding an additional 17 attractions to the maintenance page if they'd listed them all separately, it would have been nice if they'd indicated perhaps where the characters would appear at minimum, and perhaps what times they would normally appear too (the showtimes function is great and lists the entire schedule for today - surely it wouldn't be hard to schedule in when certain characters would appear too, no?
  10. I like the web page but the maintenance page, feels to me, purposefully unhelpful. My biggest fear is now this sets the precedent, and now DW changes it page to be just as unhelpful for interstate visitors, who like to plan ahead.
  11. Staff might finally have had enough and are now leaving, but saying the rides are down because of low staff, is putting the cart in front of the horse.
  12. I think it looks good. I like some of the new features, however the new maintenance function, while nice, should compliment the existing calendar, not replace it entirely. I said it in the other thread but i'll say it again here, nobody has considered site accessibility for PWD. Since my reply in the other thread I spent 5 minutes googling and there's a handful of free accessibility checkers online you can just drop your URL into and it gives you a report in less than two minutes. I can't believe not one person in the design process for this site bothered to check it. https://userway.org/accessibility-checker/?url=www.movieworld.com.au Audit (accessibilitychecker.org) WAVE Report of UNTITLED (webaim.org) accessScan - Website Accessibility Checker - Free & Instant - accessiBe
  13. I dunno if staff members are thinking about leaving their jobs, what’s to say that people may have left already?
  14. Movie World have upgraded their entire website for the first time in at least 5 years and when browsing it on my phone, it seems like a good upgrade. This is the home page The attraction listing is a lot clearer now They’ve added the WoO renders to the website You can now select the day you are visiting the park and it will tell you what attractions will be closed. This new setup for the maintenance schedule makes it a lot clear of what’s closed today/when you’re visiting, however makes it harder to see an overall view of the years schedule if you don’t know when you are visiting The height requirements are a lot cleaner And they’ve added some fun facts for each attraction
  15. I think the site looks nice. clearly they've put some effort into it. I question some of the colour choices though - there's a lot that doesn't pass accessibility standards and is low contrast though.
  16. Movie World have done a big update to their website what are your thoughts on it.
  17. No one is factoring that a significant reason (that VRTP will never tell guests) of many rides being closed is actually due to low staff, and no one wanting to work and be abused by guests while getting paid minimal wage. They’re currently advertising again for another intake of operators due to obvious extreme turnovers of staff across the board.
  18. That’s a really good promo. Seems to be a great mix of CGI and practical sets they set up for filming. Very good.
  19. Yeah Piss Weak World from an old comedy show is looking a winner at the moment. I'm an informed consumer, so I just don't go, with the exception of Fright Nights, it's been years. I feel for consumers who aren't as informed.
  20. Looks nice. Do you think the emerald castle theming and the other theming is to do with the rides? Or something that people can just walk through? The dc area near doomsday is such a wasted area. So much potential.
  21. On the public holiday movie world was pretty packed. While we were waiting to go in they had people telling guests that the majority of the rides are closed.
  22. If you're looking for a good day out. People might be better going to the local playground than going to MW today, Oh boy. 🤦‍♂️
  23. yep, and that's likely the case, but since that loop is a closed loop, you could get away with not needing sensors in that area at all - given the start and end is the turntable, and the turntable would need to accommodate sensors for the train facing both directions, you could potentially program it that way, though I see very little reason for doing so.
