  1. I didn't mention any website, it was a private conversation between me and one staff member I know that works for VRTP. It was not asked to the company through any of their channels. That image is the entire interaction about the topic. I casually asked the question and they volunteered that response. The good employees that I personally know have the exact same complaints as people in this thread, so there is exactly zero chance of reputation damage from asking them why they think it is occurring. But I do home VTRP management drop into the forums and see some of these comments, because there is some good feedback they could use to make improvements - including what their own staff think about their workplace culture. I think most people could overlook lots of the little maintenance details people are complaining about if the general level of customer service was high enough though. It might sound a bit stupid, but small maintenance issues like the jackhammer or broken tiles would just come across as guests abusing the park (rather than management that don't care enough to maintain them) if the staff created the impression that their primary focus was the enjoyment of guests. I've been to a few parks where the rides were a bit worn/dated or just not that thrilling, and it was the attitude of the staff that made it a magical and fun experience for me (even as an adult).

  2. People writing these list watch to much ParkChatLive. 😁 My top 10 list ill-thought-out rides that shouldn't be on people's list. 1. Shrek's Ogre-Go-Round, Dreamworld. 2. Puss n Boots Sword Swings, Dreamworld. 3. Wild West Falls. 4. Justice League. 5. Wipeout. 6. Mick doohan. 7. Log ride. 8. Shockwave. 9. Giant drop. 10. Tower of Terror II. What are people thinking? 3, 5 & 7 recently completed major overhauls.

  3. Lol that it's being sold by a guy named 'Andrew'. My first thought was it had been pilfered, but by the sounds of things, an excess product souvenired from pre-construction... It looks pretty damn sizeable too. TBH i'd say its a bargain at the asking price!

  4. WWF is one of the single most expensive rides ever built in Australia, originally costing around 20 million. It's still a great ride and offers important balance to a Park that is too thrill heavy and too few Family friendly rides and attractions. It is also the most aesthetically spectacular looking ride across all Parks. If WWF gets the same kind of love that we hope for Scooby-doo one day, then we can expect it to hang around for a very, very long time. If anything, get rid of that pathetic excuse for a Flume ride at DW. Surprised nobody mentioned that one.

  5. Movie World have definitely lost 'the show' aspect of their staff. Above all else - this is what they need to work on improving. We can worry about shitty burgers later.

  7. an operations glitch on opening day isn't comparable to a glitch caused by old equipment. I'd thought better of you old boy. SCVS, after rebirthing, still lasted 1-2 years, constantly going down, until they finally pulled life support. I didn't use the word 'soonest'. And I also referred to it in the context of 'if'. You critiqued people picking it on the basis of a recent overhaul. I pointed to another ride that had a recent overhaul and still went the way of the dodo, despite management insisting they do 'everything they can' to keep it running. It's funny - because we've heard that exact phrase mentioned here on these boards about Wipeout in recent time too. All i said was, the same outcome MAY be the case IF wipeout continues to have issues. It's not long out of rehab, and having small issues. Lets see how it fares in 6 months time, eh?

  8. Those were the good days...I will admit when I was there first in 2007 and when I went back in 2011 there was a massive difference in staff morale and overall management. Here's hoping things change for the better in the future.

  9. And I think ‘the show’ aspect began to be lost when uniforms changed. It’s great that some of the rides have unique uniforms still, but the uniforms for the ticketing, retail and some rides have lost a bit of magic. Even if it was just the ticketing staff at the front of the park who had unique uniforms it would add to the apparent movie magic (which in many cases has been lost).

  10. I’m confused as to why anyone is putting Justice League on a list of rides to close. It would be nearer to the top of my list of rides to still be in operation in a decade.. it’s near New in terms of ride age, it’s indoors so doesn’t have track weathering like a coaster in the elements, it’s light on maintenance, and could seemingly be updated without too much problem (video images etc). I’d bet JL will still exist in some compacity in 10 years. i don’t see WWF going anywhere in the next 5 years given the hole it would leave in the park, and the cost associated to demolish and level, and then replace. The only currently operating rides on the GC that I could see potentially going in the next 5 years would be Wipeout & HWSW. As for suggestions of the carousel and swing ride at DW... why? Again, limited maintenance, popular, high capacity. Not going anywhere..

  11. You are very uptight today @Rollercoaster_Lover. Is your dietary intake adequate because you know what they say? Man who eats metal paper fastenings has a staple diet.

  13. You cant make morale and happiness with money... its not about wages. The village parks used to have as much fun and social recreation behind the scenes as front of house back hen John Menzies ran the place. The staff would have industry deals at venues all over town. There would be catered (with alcohol) after hours parties for staff almost monthly, and un official organised gatherings in town even more frequently. Then there was the famous annual Warner Village ball which saw all staff (1000s) treated to a sit down formal dinner, unlimited drinks and festivities all night, and handing out of employee of the year awards. Many staff lived for this annual party which was renowned for being one of the best on the coast. All these things made the place more than just a workplace. When Tim Fisher came in, all that stopped, there is no such thing a ball or a Christmas Party anymore, any staff function is held on site and is about as exciting as you can imagine from say a Trivia Night with free Soft Drink! WOO With so many companies being all about employee benefits to retain good staff these days, it's safe to say Village are as behind in staff relations as Dreamworld are in strategic direction. It's people that make your business, end of story.

  14. Casually asked an employee from a Village park about the customer service at MW (specifically the complaints from this thread). Got this reply. Seems like a top-down issue.

  15. 1. Wild West Falls - Movie World 2. Monorail - Sea World 3. Justice League - Movie World Those are just my guesses, based on their age and condition. I don't have any others to add at the moment.
