  1. It's Dreamworld. It's Dreamworld. It's Dreamworld. Still Dreamworld. C'mon man, are you serious? It's DREAMWORLD!

  2. I couldn't give a hoot if DW removed all of Disney style facades. John Longhurst original DW died the day he sold it. When you sell a house and can’t expect the new owners to keep it the way you had it. If you want that to happen, you don’t sell it. 30 years ago, it was fine to rip off Disney designs because nobody travelled to America but now every second person has been to Disney. DW shouldn’t be reminding guest of their trips to Disney when they visit because when you start comparing DW to Disney you realise DW is truly a dump. Unlike 30 years ago DW doesn’t only compete with Australian parks but now competes with parks in Asia, America and Europe. I do have a but- DW don’t have a clear plan/idea on what DW is. For example, MW has lost many of their great original attractions over the years and DC is the “in thing” no matter where you are in the park it still feels and looks like MW. The changes to the buildings over the last 10 years is a disgrace. DW has become the home reno from hell and that is what I give a hoot about. If DW removed every building I wouldn’t jump up and if they replaced it with something better. DW clearly don’t have anything better and for some strange reason only known to DW are intent on degrading what they already have. You don’t buy a Ferrari and put roof rakes on it.

  3. I just don't quite understand the management thinking that let's this happen. The attraction is most certainly closed and not returning, so what's the sense in leaving signage out like some sort of hoarder? It's almost like someone has it in their head that leaving the signage up for a missing attraction is better than having no signage. It's gone, management; the first thing you should have done with the EWP is removed the signage, and only then should you strip it internally. Also, do you guys not keep an index or inventory of your signage around the park so you know exactly where to go when you make changes to your attraction line-up?

  4. So at the park today with @ABYSS and noticed a few things: Sprinklers have been added to the Rampage queue which was something they were asked to do last week. Inferno tower is back up and should be opening in the coming days. Goliath merchandise Will be available next season. More crow statues have been added to Goliath area.

  5. I'm not a nostalgic type. The same reasons people want to keep the buildings is the same reasons why people wanted to keep Eureka and Eureka was a whole load of rubbish tips put together. Let’s be clear here, I’m not calling for the buildings to be demolished. If DW had a better design or idea I wouldn’t jump up and down is all I am saying. Some people here are saying they don’t want the facades modified simply because of old memories but I like to create new memories. I would be most happy if another company came in, closed DW for 5 years, bulldozed the lot and started from scratch with a new theme park.

  6. So creative works over the last month have posted some images on Instagram. Seems like a lot of general presentation works are happening around the park. Considering they spent 9 million dollars last year. Makes sense for them to save there pennies. Worth noting I went passed Adventure World today. Nothing major happening. Although a few minor points: - looks like some new shade added to the top half of the hill and all the way through to the Kraken queue line. - Work happening on the rail rider and Kahuna falls.

  7. What on Earth is up with the People running our Theme Parks? Here's a start, they have no clue, that's what. Removing facade architecture that was inspired and modelled on Disney - of all People, the World Leaders and Pioneers in Theme Parks. But hey, what would they know huh?

  9. At the park now and absolutely LOVE the new upcharge attraction $20 for 15 minute tinny hire on the river, including high-vis shirt hire! Half price discount if you take a net and remove some algae while you are out there And the kangaroos and emu’s have recently been replaced with.. bobcats..

  10. What do u mean? Copyright of the facade? There isn’t such a thing, it’s an architectural design, not branding.

  11. It’s such a nice facade to, and i think would be a perfect entrance for the new ride. And I doubt what they do for the facade will be anywhere near as good. But maybe they wanted to keep it, and it comes down to the fact the ride can’t be installed inside without demolition. But I’m sure there would’ve been a way

  12. As worrying as the original Disney-esque facades surrounding the i-ride being demolished, it looks like work is gearing up to remove the Big Brother Cafe. For those unaware, the Big Brother Cafe WAS originally Hollywood House and was the defining reason why John Longhurst bought Dreamworld. It was moved from behind the now Gold Rush Country entrance over to the side of the River Rapids where the building was duplicated to become a restaurant. Here's hoping it's not coming down and fencing around it is being placed up for safety reasons only.

  13. Here it is folks - looks like five of Dreamworld's original Disneyland-copy facades are getting the boot & when they come down it'll mark the official end of John Longhurst's original Dreamworld.

  15. Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom to be exact. Same goes for the IMAX "Gazebo" facade which was never a feature of the original Main street USA. The original Disneyland entryway featured more angular, pointey rooftops - similar to the DW actual Train station which it was not surprisingly modeled on😃

  16. The main entrance is also modeled off Disney’s Entrance... not sure which park though

  17. I had no idea Dreamworld buildings were so closely modelled on Disney's. What a pity they didn't do the same with the attractions!

  18. It's about time they stopped offering soft drinks full stop. Absolutely terrible for guests health yet they encourage everyone notonly to drink it, but to drink far more than could be considered acceptable (sort of) as an occasional "treat".
