  1. Is this thread super IMPORTANT or are you YELLING?

  2. No. Two trains stack as is. A third for maintenance purposes wouldn't be the worst idea but three wouldn't really work. That was a much longer thread then last!

  3. I would say these forums are definitely a place for learning and asking questions, just as much as they are for news

  4. While I do understand how that could get frustrating, I think some people need to realize that they do not own this forum. This is a public platform where people of different backgrounds come together with a common interest. There needs to be respect between every member, or this site will turn into a place where no-one wants to comment on anything because they are afraid they will get shot down. We want to grow our hobby, not push people away.

  5. Is this a statement, a question, or a thought? Either way, i'm glad the community is making good use of the fountain of improbability.

  6. When I rode Hot Wheels earlier this year, I honestly thought the coaster wasn't all that bad, sure it has bad transitions but it was better than when the old trains were running, Cyclone was god awful in those days. I personally think Hot Wheels should get replaced with a WWW expansion, perhaps a new slide tower or new pool complex, because the coaster is intertwined with WWW to the extent that it is difficult to make use of the land to build a direct replacement because of those slide complexes interacting with the coaster. When you take into account the land the coaster takes up which is occupied by WWW in some sort, there really isn't much land to build a new coaster on the site. If the replacement is a coaster I definitely agree that an RMC Raptor is a good choice, or a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster if they want something a little bit bigger. Right now though Hot Wheels isn't that massive of a priority and Dreamworld should rip out Tower of Terror, convert GD to Falcon's Fury gondolas and finish their planned lazy river & dark ride attractions before Hot Wheels goes.

  7. Settle down sunshine. If you were old enough to be out of high school you'd know it's actually a reference to replying 'Unsubscribe' to mailing lists (and sometimes SMS services) in order to stop that content being sent to you. Nope. It's privately owned. This whole thing ain't that hard. Dismissing anyone who doesn't agree with you as a "hater" as seems to be the custom shows an astonishing lack of self-awareness. Luckily the forum software actually provides a fairly handy way of getting an idea of how you're travelling in terms of your contribution - compare the number in green under your group (members) to the number of posts you've made immediately below it. The better the ratio between the two is usually a good indication of how well you're contributing. If you're finding your ratio isn't so good, perhaps instead of bitching that people won't accept you without any work whatsoever on your own flaws you do a bit of work on that? A really good way of doing so is taking a moment to consider that the forum isn't going anywhere, nor is the new post function - there is nothing to be gained by rushing to create a new post each time that little Rolodex in your mind comes to a stop. Instead, you'll notice the post/reply buttons are actually one of the smallest parts of on-screen real estate - it's a handy tip from the UI gods to suggest that the amount of reading you do should absolutely outweigh the amount of writing you do. As someone entering a new community or a new discussion the onus is absolutely on you to get the temperature of the room before you open your mouth - work out who is there, how they speak to each other and what they speak about. If you were old enough to you wouldn't walk into a pub where a bunch of people are gathered discussing something and immediately (and obnoxiously) jump into the conversation, particularly if you had no idea what they were talking about to begin with. You want to be here? Great, welcome. Read as much as you want - the archives go back quite some way and there's some gold in there. You're absolutely welcome to all of it - and you don't even really need to do anything special in order to do that without annoying anyone. It's when you want to leave your mark by posting that you need to actually make some sort of effort, and that's the minimum expectation. So long as you can cope with that, I'm confident everyone here will cut you all the slack you need. Side-note: This is not a new problem, nor is it specific to this community. Elsewhere they are called vampires (see: http://slash7.com/2006/12/22/vampires/)

  8. Fair to say I think enthusiasts often forget we're having fun talking about having fun. I don't think the formula for a good community is hard - we're always happy to see curious, interested and passionate folks on here sharing their thoughts and ideas for other like-minded folk to read and reply to. Conversely, I'm personally not happy to see people bullying/trolling/backseat moderating just as much as i'm not happy to see members use this as a dumping ground for their stream of consciousness to exist. You get my drift? Chillout, have a beer, use the search function, have fun.

  9. I thought so! Take no notice of those lacking manners and respect around here Dylan, and you can also block and report them if you want.

  10. Why are people being an ass to Dylan? Rather then telling him to "Unsubscribe" why don't you advise him on how to do things better? He is obviously keen to learn and ask questions. Is that not what this forum is for?

  11. A very good question. I've seen it being used just one time, quite close to when it was first installed. I was seriously considering booking it as it looked like great fun. Sadly like the Wet & Wild Buggies, I never quite got the chance to do so! I'd love to know the reason though!

  12. Having the 3 main roller-coasters down at the same time is a bit odd, particularly with not a lot of chatter from park or enthusiasts. Have folks simply switched off and don't care much about what's happening at Dreamworld anymore? I dunno, would be a shame if that were the case, but here we are. What i'd like to see done better is even just the communication (I know, classic Slick trope, blah blah comms & marketing etc. etc.) because particularly during school holidays families are planning entire holidays around Dreamworld and I imagine it'd be frustrating in terms of planning and also quite worrying in terms of safety (constantly pushing back opening dates doesn't instil confidence), and a lot more could be done to alleviate both IMO.

  13. I read on another thread that an adventure river was being planned for Whitewater World, if that's what you mean. I'd say there's next to no chance of them building anything like Thunder River Rapids for the foreseeable future, and probably ever.

  14. Will we see a repaint of the current slides in the future at WhiteWater World and it seems Wet N wilds slides are still fine and a much older park???? Have they repainted slides before?

  15. Sorry, I have no idea why my post repeated itself. i believe Leatherface was extremely well done. Great detail. True to the franchise. As for house of kain, they really went all out in this maze. And that’s what this maze is : really out there. Jigsaw and Halloween were just as awesome as last year. This basically sums up House of Kain:

  16. So here is a trip update from Adventure World: For a non major ride off-season lots of minor things have happened and due to a very wet winter a lot of painting and installation of shade sails have been delayed and are not quiet finished. Animal Kingdom is closed for renovations Surf Shack and Tiki Bar are closed for renovations Rampage has had all new seats installed to try and make the ride more comfortable. These I have found worse. Black Widow has had a complete new repaint. Which is not finished yet. The flooring and signage needs to be finished. This is due to weather I believe. Inferno gondala has been painted. A themed water fountain was added mid way up the hill to Kraken. New viewing area next to skull rock. More shade added the whole way up the hill. Not a fan of how it looks up the top but it was needed. More picnic benches have been added around the park. Animal area closed. New Viewing area Rocky Rapids was closed on opening day but has soon since re-opened. The view from the viewing area. Goliath Black Widow with its new paint and new restraint system. The new water fountain mid way up the hill. The new shading Surf Shack closed for renovation. Kahuna Falls was apparently closed for a few days. But is now re-opened. Not a huge fan of how it finishes at the top. The Tiki bar is getting a renovation. Looks to open soon. The Rampage with new seats. If you look Bounty's Revenge's sign is still visible from under the main entrance building.

  18. Maybe browse more forums before parkz and understand the basic standard of a forum which isn’t flooding previously discussed topics. It happens very frequently so not everyone wants to guide every new member on what to do and what not to do. It’s up to you more than other members to learn how to use the forum. And you can see there are friendly members that do encourage new members like @pushbutton.
