  1. I agree MW needs a focus on high capacity family rides and shows, but at the same time, they can't let Arkham retire without a suitable replacement. (And suitable, in context, means another coaster.)

  2. Alright kids Update time! AndrewH was banned from DW after the incident where he got into Eureka. A couple years later, DW let it go and lifted the ban. AndrewH can now visit the park if he so chooses. Tower is operating as much as they can get it to. It's main problem is that it keeps parking itself half way up the tunnel and they have to winch it back home and reset it. I was at the park from 11am today and managed to get 12 rides, including the final ride for the day at 5pm. It went down often but the amount of time it was open and taking guests today was definitely longer than it was down for. Two maintenance staff are also now stationed in the control booth just to keep an eye on tower and get it back up and running when it loses track of the car again. Also, when it's open, they are trying to pump through as many people as they can. It didn't operate at all yesterday and only half the day on Monday. I managed to get so many rides in because the ride was fairly reliable today and when it went down, I stayed around the entrance area for when it would reopen. So if anyone else if hoping to get some more rides in before the final send off on the weekend, persistence and patience is key.

  3. yeah, I think DW do not need the coaster with huge capacity, and RMC Raptor is enough. If there are many people, that just operate twp to three trains is ok.

  4. I think the attraction of the Raptor is the small track and lightweight cars, which makes it cheaper and feel more exposed. The T rex just seems like any other 2 across coaster from Mack/Intamin/Vekoma and doesn’t really seem to save much steel IMO. I reckon the Raptor is fine. The existing two installations hold 8 per train, the Jersey Devil holds 12, so that’s no different to an El Loco / Eurofighter / Infinity, and would be more than enough capacity for our parks.

  5. Haha. Not gonna be a very good replacement for 10 million!! Personally I think it’s going to be a while until we see a new coaster. I imagine Movie World focusing on high capacity family rides and shows for the next little while.

  6. Seeing as the spot sits somewhere between DCR and SE i'd put money on it being Superman vs. Batman if they did a dueling coaster.

  7. George Miller is very vocal about wanting to film 1-3 more Mad Max movies and is rumored to have written them and even as far as story boarded the next one, and Tom Hardys contract is for 3 more movies but there is issues with the studio or something that is holding it up. @Flynn_Smith it was me that said a duelling coaster, but the biggest issue with that is the cost. I'm not one for facts on costs but I assume a duelling coaster would cost around the $40-$50million mark. Benefits are, keep an inverted (if they went that path), 2 coasters for the space of 1 and increased park and ride capacity and a good crowd sponge.

  9. Went on it Saturday, sat next to a family of four who hadn’t been on it before. They went from “I don’t see how watching a screen will be much fun” to genuinely enjoying it within seconds of it starting. Seems to get rave reviews on FB. Loading was very slow though.

  10. I believe someone mentioned it, but I can't find the post anywhere.. A duelling coaster similar to Battlestar Galactica at USS would be a great fit for the Arkham space. The 'Human' side would make for a good bridge for the younger thrill enthusiasts who aren't quite ready to tackle the bigger thrills of a multi-inversion coaster, and those looking for a thrilling experience can take on the 'Cylon' side. Basically, Movieworld would get a brand new, much smoother, launched SLC, and also pick up a new family thrill ride. Although incredibly unlikely, the park could reinvent the running theme of DC attractions and go for a 'Fantastic beasts' experience. But - since this is Movieworld, it could be something like Batman & Robin, or Harley Quinn/Joker.

  11. When Arkham eventually closed down, I feel like a RMC raptor should replace it, say Arkham closes in 2021, then the new Raptor opens 2022, exactly 5 years from when DC Rivals opened, this would give the park a strong top 3 with good supporting coasters (just my opinion)

  12. I treat it like riding a motorbike, look where you are going next. That makes you use your neck muscles and stop getting thrown about. Leg squishing, when you load keep the harness slightly higher (~1cm), and push up with your legs when they check it. It still moves down throughout the ride (particularly on the high G part back passed the station) but it won't be as tight at the end.

  13. You guys are dreaming. If they replace Arkham, a realistic spend would be 10 million. Not 4 to 5 times that.
