Thanks so much for posting this!! I saw this had been posted on Facebook- I remember seeing this footage and show "Just For the Record" when it originally aired in 1988 and I have been searching for it ever since!! Brilliant!! What a shame that this never opened to the public- it would have been unique in the world and enthusiasts would have come from everywhere just to have a ride on the thing!!! I think this is the only footage of the Orphan Rocker running to ever be aired publicly- this is a precious moment in Australian theme park history and gives us a glimpse of what could have been had the ride ever been allowed to open. It certainly looked liked it needed some form of better restraint!! Fantastic this has made my New Year's day!!

^ Agreed. Mondays are often busier than Sundays. Consistently one of the busiest days of the week, because as Joz said everyone has the same idea that it will be quiet. It's a phenomenon.

@Levithian You are claiming closing time is 6pm. It’s not, closing time is 5:30. If people are on rides or in queue at 5:30, sure they can stay until they ride, but the park is closed effectively at 5:30. You keep throwing 6pm around which just isn’t true. If I go to the park at 5:35, I won’t be allowed in, therefore it’s closed.

Wow. Thanks for the tip guys- this has altered our way of thinking immediately!! We will now look at going to MovieWorld on a Friday instead and hopefully this gives us the easier day we desire!! Will let you know how the trip pans out!! Cheers.

Wow. That looked like a rough ride. The layout looked amazing, just the transitions let it down. A modern designed ride would have been worth the trip down.

Yay! No further delays!

I went on Scooby this morning to check out these new lighting effects. Wow. They are very good. Best I’ve seen them in years. No smoke, but the lighting makes up for it. And the box at the turntable has been adjusted so it is only on while a car is turning, so that you don’t see this bright box the entire ride. I also did notice some new theming elements, particularly around the swinging axes and at the evil laugh guy. The still very poor screens were timed right, but the graphics still really really let it down. The screen before the lift should just not be there. And the screens in the lift I found myself not being able to look at them because they really threw my balance off as the timing was all out. Awesome work MW with the disco room, but the ghost train part still needs some work. On another note, the whole mystery inc gang is back in the park. For a couple years now it’s just been Scooby and Shaggy, but today I saw them all

I think someone saw rides operating at 6pm and thought "Well the park is therefore open" despite it just being to empty out queues. Maybe they're too used to the Fright Nights version of closing time, where closing time means 'rides finished by'. That's benifiet of the doubt, their arse appears to also be a valid answer in this case.

If you thought Monday would be the best day to go, you have the same opinion as everyone else. Welcome to busy park! In summer holidays, late in the week and weekends are the quietest time to go.

You’re not getting it. I don’t doubt people are crashing into others. My point is that it’s because they are morons, not because we need more lighting in there.

It's funny because back in the old days the made up excuse used to be it's a clearance issue with Corkscrew. Now apparently the line is it's a clearance issue with the stations. I think anyone who actually thinks there's a clearance issue should also stay away from timeshare sales people and just be aware that the Prince of Nigeria doesn't need your help to transfer large sums of money.
