  3. Holy Shit, the media didn't mention the tragedy. I am actually, genuinely shocked... mainly because the media are the worst! But then again, they did show rides that are no longer operating...

  5. Hey guys, Just stunbled across this little video on Youtube of Glenelg's former attraction Magic Mountain. I am pretty sure this has not been shared before so i thought i would proffer it here for anyone that is interested. Having not been to Adelaide before, this offers a fascinating insight into an obviously much loved former attraction. Interestingly, this was built on the same site that Luna Park Glenelg was situated on in 1930 before it was packed up and shipped to Milson's Point to become Luna Park Sydney. Nowadays it is home to a small attraction called The Beachouse. Here are some pics of when Luna Park was situated at Glenelg. For comparison, here is some images of the Beachouse, the attraction that currently resides in this spot. There were plans at some stage to expand The Beachouse with a larger water park facility but I am not sure what happened with that proposal. Seems like a great little attraction for the family by the sea. It would be great if it could be expanded in some way to increase its patronage and importance as an attraction for the town. Hopefully , one day I get to visit and have a look in person.

  9. From outside it looks like the slides are the coolest thing ever weaving in and out of the rockwork, but inside it was unthemed and all the slides were open air so it was basically just like a giant warehouse. Did look impressive though!

  10. It's like the same as getting a rollback on a launch coaster. A mix of the PLC timing and the weight of the launches. Since the audio isn't a necessary function required to operate the ride, it's often out of time of just not working at all

  12. Shouldn't we be watching WWF? But for real, if they are planning on actually doing a tech overhaul and getting all the effects working correctly, I will regain some hope that they might just care about the little things.

  13. Interestingly Tim Fisher is now at Cedar Fair and the they've introduced cheap passes which caused havoc at Cedar Point at the end of last season with over crowding. They're at the Q150 pass stage of the Tim Fisher cycle. You know what I think the biggest cost of the passes has been; it's made the parks not special. They used to be places you went once a year and it would be a huge event. Now it's a pop in for a couple hours on the way back from Brisbane. Thanks to the cheap prices, people treat the parks like their local trampoline center. I hope they stand by their word and keep the prices as high as possible for a bit. I wouldn't begrudge DW taking the discounted space in the market. One they need the advantage, and you could probably sustain 1 park on $99 passes, as opposed to sustaining 4 on $75 passes which Village were doing with the buy 3 get 1 free shit. Once they get their new coaster open, and if they get something else open the year after which should be on their list of things to do if they can afford it, up the price. It's all fairly simple really.

  14. I’ve been into Jellies many times and for some reason, there did seem to be less lighting than usual. And it isn’t an over reaction in any way, I was in there for 5 minutes and watched 2 instances of people walking into each other and 1 person trip over a pram as someone turned around

  15. I also overheard months ago park executives doing a tour in the park and saying that the Vikings castle will eventually be demolished. That could be years down the track, but there has been talk about it

  18. Just been to SW and tried out the app, it was very useful and has some really good features. I know it’s still being tested, but the queue for storm was an hour and the app said 5 minutes. It also wouldn’t let me virtual queue
