To be fair Roadrunner 4D is awesome! I think people on here can get a bit carried away with 'OMG isn't the new thing amazing!' To me, Doomsday is pure filler, but the park needs a bit of filler so sweet! Is it a good ride? It's fine, I doubt I'd go on it unless I was with a group of people who wanted to go on it, but the area around it is nice, and it gives new life to a pretty neglected corner of the park. That's about it really.

Look at you all still discussing this "roller coaster". Remember "Wild"? It moved to Movie World instead. This new development is all for the 'Big Cat Exhibit'.........

I stole photos again but for once I think TPSN got some good close ups. How many footers are in this one pit? Timber stakes holding the formwork in place. Tie-down for the poles\post waiting to be fitted inside the reo cage. You can see the metal templets and how they are incorporated to set out the tie-down rods into the correct position. You can also see just under the top templet a timber formwork box. Once the footer is finished the top templet is removed along with the timber box. This will leave a hole in the concrete for the flange on the bottom of the post/pole to slide into. 2 footer complete just waiting on the formwork to be removed and 2 footers ready for the formwork and pouring of the concrete to finish the cap. Some of the footers are round and some are square. Table to lay the plans on. Footers everywhere One of the footers are happy. Looks like it got a tick of approval.

OK, so asked a favor and here are overhead photos from the 22/9 this year. It looks like a couple of turn around areas from the layout of the footings, but it is way to early to be sure...anyone care to guess...

Ouch. Poor review. The ride isn't made to be intense or thrilling, just fun. It's meant to cater to both younger thrillseekers and older ones accustomed to crazy intense rollercoasters, and I think it achieves that perfectly.

That pic was just after the Rise of the Dead... This was just before it... This was middle of the night... This precinct was well lit most of the night... My wife liked this area as she felt safer here with not so many spooky things happening...

The Perfect Storm had it's soft opening on the 1st day of the 2016/2017 season (24th September) but it had it's official opening today I believe as the Illawarra Mercury has finally published an article about the world-1st ride. The article features 5 images & a video of The Perfect Storm in operation as well as an image of The Perfect Storm's logo. But I got disappointing news - Despite soft opening on the opening day of the 2016/2017 season, like I highly suspected, construction was indeed running behind schedule (but enough to be operational). This means not only theming is uncompleted but the whole final large Tornado is still open & without special effects. I can't confirm if the 2nd small Tornado is enclosed or not yet based on the photos/videos I've seen so far. The 1st small Tornado was always intended to be open. The Illawarra Mercury reports "...some minor cosmetic works still to be completed". If they are referring to the enclosing of the Tornadoes instead of the theming, if anything, they are not 'minor' works - they add pretty significantly to the ride experience. So unless Jamberoo can finish construction on the weekdays it is closed on, there is a slight chance the full experience of The Perfect Storm might not be ready until December 2016. If not, April 2017 and the worst case (and I think probably most likely) scenario, September 2017. Maybe someone who knows the construction process of enclosed Tornadoes/Tantrum Alleys better might be able to confirm how easy it is for Jamberoo to finish building The Perfect Storm? Also, in the Illawarra Mercury's video, it mentions at the end "Even a house is in the storm's crasp" referring to the still under construction small tubes shelter. Maybe they got word from Park management that the small tubes shelters will indeed be themed to a rusted corrugated galvanised iron-roofed wooden building (with a concrete chimney) like I speculated above.

Patiently waiting the drawn up guesses of the coaster layout ?

Based on what VRTP have said so far, we're currently expecting an announcement no later than the 20th November 2016.

I have never seen a coaster with formwork left on even when the footers are above the ground. Some in the background are above natural ground and have had the formwork removed. Why would you pay all that money for stainless steel formwork? @AlexB will on day have the latest map of the layout.

time for some photos from my trip yesterday I don't think this guy was excited to see me the new Plaza looks great, I think the fountain looks really good the Trick or Treat event was on when I was there yesterday, I think it will be fun for the kids they were doing face painting and had characters walking around the new Plaza, good to see that MW isn't the only park that is getting into the Halloween sprit this year also it's not a update without a photo of the Storm!
