The two coasters look pretty impressive, in particular the F1 coaster (Worlds fastest) looks pretty impressive because its not a one trick pony, it actually has airtime hills etc. I do think the rest of the park gives the impression that they were struggling for ride ideas...Car engine boat ride? Come off it. Bear in mind this park is in Abu Dhabi and not Dubai.

I stumbled across a blog post which made me laugh, and pretty much sums up my thoughts of the place:

Sunday, November 1, 2009 Ferrari excitement deflates This was the rendering of the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, planned to be the largest indoor theme park in the world. It will feature 20 rides and attractions including the world's fastest roller coaster...124 mph...woot woot! It will have a humongous Ferrari logo, 215 feet in diameter, the largest in the world. And the design? Inspired by the classic Ferrari GT's double curve side profile. I have always been unsure of the Blob movement. Does this even fall under blob?Maybe it does, in the deflated excitement category. The rendering is not far from it's almost completed stage.... A red fabric....a deflated parachute or a limp starfish trying to survive in the desert? This building resembles an HQ in a Robot Anime series. I want to raise a point since the WORLD, and The Palm at Jumeirah Dubai were built. Why build something so huge, when it is inaccessible to the human experience? I am not referring to Dubai or those oil rich countries as playgrounds of the rich and who can afford. Not even they can appreciate these developments unless they are in a chopper or in space. When you visit this place, it is not the fluid red thingy statement you will experience, but the underbelly of this over sized red tent. It would have made sense if people can slide on its surface. Like a starfish, those tentacles curve inward so we slide down toward the center where we get eaten.

A new theme park will give patrons the chance to travel in an F430 at 200km/h. This Ferrari F430 Spider handles like it's on rails, because it is. The yellow convertible is part of a new rollercoaster ride at Ferrari's extravagant new amusement park in Abu Dhabi. The GT Racing Coaster is the closest most people will get to travelling in a Ferrari at high speed. Ferrari claims it is the world's fastest coaster, reaches speeds of up to 200km/h, as its two F430 replicas 'race' each other on a twisting parallel track. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opens later this year and will feature 20 rides, including a second rollercoaster that mimics the g-forces of an F1 car and shoots 62 metres into the air, through the theme park's spectacular scarlet roof. The creators of the theme park say the facility is the first of its kind in the world. The main building is 50 metres high with a surface area of 200,000 square metres. It also carries the world's largest Ferrari logo - 65 metres by 48 metres. Other attractions include state-of-the-art racing simulators, memorabilia stores and a food hall that promises to deliver authentic Maranello cuisine.

Haha, the person who wrote that mucked up. The 200km/h "F1 coaster" will be the large launcher. The "Emotion coaster" will be the two Smaller Maurer Sonhe built ones, and will have the yellow cars depicted above. And the "second rollercoaster that mimics the g-forces of an F1 car and shoots 62 metres into the air, through the theme park's spectacular scarlet roof" is actually just the space shot ride.

Soon to be the world's fastest roller coaster has started testing before a soft opening at the end of the month. Formula Rossa launches "goggle wearing" riders from 0 to 240 km/h in 4 seconds. All riders must wear goggles because the area is prone to dust storms.

Is four posts in a row a record? Well the park was due to open last week but due to one of the UAE's leaders' passing, the opening has been delayed until later this week. Anyway here is a POV of the world's fastest coaster. Reaching speeds of up to 240 km/h in 4 seconds, I introduce to you Formula Rossa:
