I don't know if the Night Market is in DW's future plans.

Maybe night market should be pared back to once a month, and run in such a way that dreamworld doesn't have to cancel it every other month for special event nights. So - make it the first friday and saturday of every month, so they've got the remaining weekends for their own events. This also frees up those friday \ saturdays outside of halloween, winter, christmas, country fair etc to run special one-off events for passholders, or special ticketed events for private hire, fundraisers and the like. This would concentrate those that want to visit the night markets into one night a month too, so potentially attendance at a monthly night market would increase. just spitballing, i'm sure there's other problems with that too.

I think that's a very narrow view to take. According to Wiki, there are 40 different versions in over 30 countries both english speaking and not that have aired a season in either 2024 or 2025. Some of them have consistently run a season every year for a long time, others start and stop. The original raw concept also hasn't been seen in so long that it is effectively a 'new' concept for a whole new generation. I'm not saying it'll succeed, but i'm interested to see what they do, and while i'm not a die-hard fan, i'll probably tune in to see what all the fuss is about this season and how they do things. if it grabs me, i'll keep watching.

More people would go to the Night Market and this would be less of a issue if the Night Market opening nights, wasn't all over the place. DW are chasing their tails with this one.

The trouble with special event openings is staffing it, whereas when you're open the same times each week you tend to have a regular roster.

I did always think it was going to cause potential issues and would potentially become a deterrent to food truck owners long term if they felt that Jane’s was taking away their customers. I think it was great to have Jane’s open at night for those first few months because it was new and exciting and was a way to show off the new venue and land. And maybe during school holidays/night events hosted by the park it would be great to have open, but on a weekly basis with the night markets probably isn’t necessary.

Relating back to my previous post about my teenage obsession with OG Big Brother, doesn't matter what they'll do I won't be watching, it's got nothing to do with the premise of the show or the cast or the theme park. I've just moved on as a person. Yes I'm nostalgic for old school Dreamworld Big Brother but we live in a ~Skibidi Labubu Dubai Chocolate~ world, Big Brother is meaningless and so is everything else I care about... lmao... I will add, I appreciate Dreamworld wanting to MINE nostalgia but if they want to DIG deep, then maybe put in a new ride that's I don't know... MINING nostalgia, you know like a RIDE that makes people of a certain age say EUREKA! Jk, I don't give a fuck about Dreamworld...

I think it’s got a few seasons in it given a return to the live voting, 24/7 cams etc it will pique interest

They are in a bit of a bind marketing wise as Jane’s is somewhat in competition with the food trucks at the night market. Don’t think any long term decision has been made but they are taking time to review

The only two anime examples used at Universal this year were Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed that was shown during Universal’s first FanFest Nights, and Chainsaw Man: The Chaos was shown this year’s Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights which both use moving chairs, and water spray, and only in Japan 4D effects.

I went to book Jane’s for Friday night for a family event, anyway it is now closed on the weekends, which seems like a bit of a miss, the trivia was short lived.

Because of this But I think if this reincarnation of the show goes well this year (which I think it will), it will last 3-4 years. The park always did well when the show was airing because they offered experiences like meeting evicted house mates, photo op in the big brother chair, mercy and when the show ends, walking through the house. It’s a no brained for the park to take advantage of this opportunity, especially when they’ve been investing so much into the park and they want to show it off!

This isn't the same show as 20 years ago. Back then they were still recording to tape. Now everything is just data that gets uploaded to post houses almost immediately. The show is much easier to produce now. It's mostly PTZ (security style) cameras, and one person can operate 10+ cameras from a single desk, depending on how spread out everyone is. It's not the big infrastructure-heavy show it used to be, which is why the 'house' is just a Set in a shed. It's designed to be temporary, and it's unlikely that the show will ever have a permanent structure again because it's expensive, unnecessary for production, and no broadcaster will be willing to pay for it given the relatively low viewership the show now has. The final series on 7 was only pulling an average 140,000 viewers per night and was cancelled as a result. The previous series only pulled 340,000. Compare that to the 1M-1.7M that ten was pulling in across its first seven series - cancelling it in Series 8 when they only pulled 860,000. They're hoping that the DW nostalgia and live eviction shows will spur some renewed interest in the show, and it might for one series, but that is not sustainable and people will lose interest pretty quickly. The show is only ever going to be as interesting as the cast, and unfortunately, genuinely interesting people (compared to charismatic people) are not usually the extroverted narcissists that are willing to sacrifice their privacy to go on a reality TV show where they're filmed showering naked and taking a crap. But if you're thinking that the scale of the production will be the same as it used to be, you're in for disappointment. It doesn't need to be, and the live shows and the production will be much smaller overall to align with the revenue that the much smaller audience generates. But the show will bring some national exposure for Dreamworld, which it still really needs.

Eviction shows maybe, but the house has traditionally been flyaway.

Great we are finally getting a new ride but kind of disappointed if it's just the Bountys Revenge again. They already have Goliath which is a swinging type of ride. Wondering if Black Widow will go soon as well

Most of the production will be done from purpose built OB trucks, which do not fit within the building anyway. Sure you will have spaces for the production team on the ground, most likely your camera department, and possibly some producers, but everything else will be from trucks.

Wouldn't cutting the shed into 2 give production its own space?

More spaces means more areas to gossip which leads to more drama. Additionally in prior seaons they sometimes have had a 'second house' or just straight up might not use the entire area. Love Island villas these days start at 1500sqm and the recent Love Island USA villa was closer to 2500 sqm. not sure how relevant that is, but a sign of things increasing I guess.
